Funny you mention that, since Disneyland is closing for the first time since 9/11, and the only time it's been more than a one day closure.

I have some friends who live in NY but are in LA right now freaking out that NYC is about to be put under quarantine and they won’t be able to get home. Apparently there’s some fake news spreading on social media.

It’s a good thing we have competent, stable leadership doing their best to keep the panic rat at bay. :smithicide:

Edit: NYC quarantine rumors bad enough that DiBlasio had to say something about it

Yeah the 98.6 thing is just an average. Each person is different.

Also interestingly there's recent research showing that the average seems to have dropped .5-1 degree in the last 150 years since the 98.6 number was established. It is unclear why.

Academia medical research goons: It’s because people have gotten fatter (less starving? Food scarcity!) over 150 years and don’t need to keep their body temperature as high to maintain good activity thanks to consistent caloric intake and reliable layers of fat and muscle.

In the Sawbones episode about it, one possible explanation was that people used to just be constantly fighting off infections all the time

Speaking of infections, CU-Boulder just sent out an alert saying an employee had a "presumptive positive" test today
