It's just that Matt Lucas was the one being discussed in the thread. I don't see what's weird about it.

I saw a few people online say that they saw it coming, but they may just be talking shite. I'm terrible at guessing that sort of thing and I think it helps me enjoy it more.

Really enjoyed the episode, but I'm not a huge fan of the actual supernatural ones.

Vic Reeves needs to be given a one-hour stand-up slot on primetime TV.
Just him, on his own, on a stage.

We can then all finally conclude, as a nation, he's a massively unappealing bellend who hasn't landed a joke since 1996 and has ridden the coat-tails of others.

When the show concludes, we can cut straight to the ceremony where Bob Mortimer is knighted, that is if he can still kneel down after carrying Vic's useless corpse around for 20 years.

What's this based on exactly? I love Bob Mortimer and he does exceptionally well without Vic, but I don't think that means Vic has been doing nothing for 25 years. They write and create all their shows together, and Vic's performances in them are just as good as Bob's

I went to see them live a few weeks ago and it was absolutely bizzare. Like more bizzare than their usual shows. It's hard to explain, just kinda them chatting about everything.

Given it was based on just the final's creations, it wasn't an unreasonable choice. If a something predictable design for Alice In Wonderland, it was at least very well executed. I really liked Matt's inventive idea that caught the wackiness of AiW but it was let down by some poor implementation; Here Lies Matt, Befellen by a Cake Stand.

Looking back at the results on Wikipedia; it was actually Jacob and Claire who managed most posts of the week at three apiece. Rosa managed twice, Matt just once.

I’ve never really liked the double act. Hated their game show. Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) was one of my favourite things though, and they are both good in that.

Seeing them both together on some unscripted thing is good, they're both funny and play off each other brilliantly. Which, of course they would, they're Vic and Bob

And I really really love Bob so I know where you're coming from, I just don't think we really know enough to say that he's the only funny one. And after all Vic is the one who started it, Bob joined him later by chance

It's a bit like when people say Merchant is the only funny one and Gervais is a total hack. Which he is now, absolutely. But he was funny at the time they did The Office and the xfm shows, and was a huge part of why The Office was so good

Hard agree. Its like a full series like the Nightclub sketches from their earlier tv shows. I like Shooting stars, house of fools etc. well enough but Catterick is just sublime and its a shame they never did anything like it again. Iirc Bob still thinks its the best thing they ever did.

Also I grew up watching repeats of the original Randal and hopkirk and while I initially thought the Vic and Bob version was pretty naff its definitely grown on me over repeat viewings. I really like the running gag with Tom Baker's awkward forced rhymes. Its just really silly.

Not true! He met Bob at an awards show where Bob presented him with an award for "Mobile Caterer of The Year." Bob asked him to be on his funny telly program, and after initially rejecting Bob's generous offer, he decided to do it after all.

I didn't say it was. I said in my opinion Bob and Matt shouldn't have to apologise. Maybe Matt apologised because for him it WAS coming from a racist point of view, although having read his autobiography and watching multiple interviews with him I very much doubt that's the case.

Why would an ambulance be leaving the hospital?

Sometimes something is racist because of societal or institutional racism, and power dynamics, not because the person doing it is an Evil Racist. It's incumbent on those of us in the majority to listen to people of colour and not do things that wound them, and apologise when we do, even if it wasn't coming from a place of bigotry. There's a larger racism at work than just 'Matt Lucas hates people of colour' which is obviously untrue and white folk should try to avoid playing into it.
