On plane waiting to escape America back to Canada. My flight started boarding an hour early, at an extreme speed I have never seen in my 34 years of pretty constant flying. No Roni screening of any kind yet though, maybe they'll be doing it on the ground in Toronto?

So, like millionaires who still have jobs will be getting the same amount as people one month away from homelessness? That sounds unbelievably dumb.

Think about the panic of "my mother is stuck in Mexico for an unknown period of time living in a hotel room while a plague ravages the planet". We're going to minimize that and at least make the live in a hotel for 3 weeks be on US soil. so no chopper rescues like the end of the Vietnam war?

Millionaires are such a small percent of the population that it doesn't change the numbers much, and if you start to put income caps in place and don't account for "how do I calculate income to make sure I'm not excluding someone who had a high income on last report but lost their job or went bankrupt etc + all edge cases" you sign up for a weird logistical hurdle that limits the effectiveness of both designing and implementing a thing, and slows it all down, and conversely makes it more expensive.

Like my income is p good but I ended a contract just as everyone was going into hiding so I technically didn't lose my job to coronavirus but if this goes on for 2 years or whatever I will absolutely need money.

"RIP your eyes" is after years, they use it for malaria and chronic conditions so people eat it for decades. Eye damage is 7.5% at 5 years and 20% at 20 years worst case from what I googled up.

My parents and their friends who also live down here in the winter are all scrambling to get the handful of seats that are still available on the flights back Canada. This, and depending on how much stimulus they end up deciding on, it may get "paid back" via tax filing in 2021 based on 2020 income. So those that need it keep it, and those above say $150k or whatever get a 1 year no interest loan.
