I should mention that the best (and still completely free) version of this game is the Megamod: http://megamod.serosis.net/ It includes HD art and a whole bunch of other options and improvements without altering the main game (unless you set the options to do so). It also includes three re-voice mods that I created, all of which include lines from the text-only PC version that were omitted from the Ur-Quan Masters voiced version... and which contain crucial information for finishing the game that otherwise isn't available anywhere else. For example, you can hear my version of the Metachron dialogue (missing from basic Ur-Quan Masters release) here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12CxK3KG0t0

GOG just made a list of all of their free games. Some are just demos and some look kind of poo poo, but there are some real classics on there.

Atheris posted:GOG just made a list of all of their free games. Some bangers on that list: Beneath a Steel Sky and Flight of the Amazon Queen: Classic point & click adventure games, both very solid. Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves: A very unique strategy/action hybrid, strike the fear into those werewolves with canadian backwoods cunning! Shadow Warrior Classic Complete: A ton of unfortunate racial humor in this FPS, but check it out for a stark reminder of what was hilarious back in the 90´s. It's still Build engine fun when it comes to gameplay. Tyrian 2000: An excellent shoot 'em up. It's one of the ones where you get to buy all kinds of upgrades and weapons between stages.

I played Legend of Keepers: Prologue and enjoyed it, though the title seems to be nonsense. You manage a group of monsters and are tasked with keeping adventurers from clearing out your dungeons and taking the loot. In between groups of adventurers, you can send your monsters to plunder the town for gold or to possibly release new monsters to join your group. The combat reminds me of Darkest Dungeon, though you're intended to lose at least half of the time. You can kill the adventurers to harvest their blood, or attack their morale to scare them off and harvest their tears instead. Both are an important resource. It doesn't take itself too seriously and is pretty fun. The prologue too me about 90 minutes to finish, and basically convinced me to buy the full game when it comes out.

True, but from a gameplay perspective it's strictly the best of the three between 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations (it adds too much bloat but is still fine imo) if you're only going to play one Although I think 2 has the most interesting cities to explore between the three. Rome is cool but it looks samey after a bit; the cities in 2 all look and traverse pretty differently. RBA Starblade fucked around with this message at 15:18 on Mar 19, 2020 |
