Arguably the biggest thing that killed Bernie's chances wasn't the possibility that the national Dem party was against him (it was) as much as the MSM came out heavily in favor of Biden, w/r/t the whole "electability" thing. There's a reason the "Sanders is coming in first, so that's why the polls say Biden's now leading (candidate in third)" and neglecting to mention Sanders at all. It's also visible when idiots on CNN go "Oh, wow, Biden was very presidential" after a debate where he constantly lied through his teeth. The biggest wrinkle that makes this obvious is that you have a majority of people who support the very socialist polices that Sanders is advocating for, yet still somehow think Biden, who has been against most of them, is the one to best represent their interests.
