Echo is on the PTR now. From a couple of minutes on the training range she feels like a DPS Zenyatta with added mobility and a fun ult. Does focusing beam pierce? Would be huge for Gravitons.

So I tested it. It seems pointless to copy healers if they aren't Mercy or Zenyatta, specifically becasue it takes significantly longer to build up the ult charge. Zen and Mercy can do better/faster damage so they can build the ult fast. However to counteract this, they both have ults that last nearly the entire length that you'll have the Echo ult going. So you can't really chain Zen or Mercys ults. The tanks though, Roadhog and Winston, their ults go on for a bit too long so you can't chain them. Sigma's builds too slow. Hammonds builds fast however you can't technically chain his ults because the first set of mines will disappear once you send out the second. I can still see players making this work though. Zarya's builds at an okay speed, has the issue where the ult lasts a bit too long so you might only barely be able to chain them. However unlike the other ults that I tried, Zarya's gravity effect will still stay out there after you turn back into Echo, where usually the ult stuff will just vanish completely. D.Va and Reinhardt though are BONKERS. Rein gets his ult in like 1 second, D.Va is insanely fast too, and you can easily chain both of their ults. The ult gen also applies to EchoDva when she's out of her mech so you can if you're fast enough beat the bomb going off and get the mach back before the first explosion. You can chain at least two bombs with her. I think as far as tanks go Reinhardt and D.Va are gonna be the main ones Echos will steal, Reinhardt seems like it's going to be NUTS if everyone is bunched up the whole time. His might build up faster than any other hero???

I'm legit hoping OW2 brings 2-3-2 into play. Buff the tanks with the abilities they had during the 1-3-2 test, add the 7th person to each team. Honestly, they'll have had years at that point to have optimized to 14 players a match, there's no reason not to.

12v12 would see some pretty long overtimes unless they changed the overtime respawning, which they certainly could do I dunno if you guys have ever had a single overtime last an hour but they occur in total mayhem sometimes and they are tiring

Yea, the unrelenting overtime is the main reason I don't play Total Mayhem much. I think you'd need to set some sort of overtime cap, or make it so that it doesn't reset whenever someone gets back on point (ie, you have a fixed overtime bar that burns down but never recovers, so it can be depleted in several separate engagements).

it wouldnt exist? total mayhem is only escort and hybrid also the neverending overtime is fine, it doesnt usually last THAT long and it is plenty fun in moderate amounts a control-only version of TM would have issues too, considering winston can get from spawn to point in just a few seconds, literally flying right over the enemy team

Is anyone up for forming a group for the tougher Archives achievements? I need Storm Surging, the ones for beating Extraction and Storm Rising on legendary, and the two for beating games on expert/legendary with no incapacitations. The goon discord seems pretty dead.

huh.. I have liked horizon since it's last rework. It is pretty interesting to attack and defend. It also favors a wide range of non-standard heros. Paris is miserable to play all around. I have no idea how to approach point B on attack unless you have some crazy good hitscan. Tanking is a poo poo show. Even so, I have no Idea how to defend it either. I just plan on losing that map unless I get carried by DPS.

There's hundreds of tiny little touches that are details about day to day life is like for normal life outside of the Overwatch factions. It's civilian all the way through, and by far the best map they've made to build the world non verbally. Paris would make a tremendous pve map where an actual story could be told using this amazing set they've built. Instead, it's now nearly universally hated by the playerbase and is just misery to play because of poor design choices overall.
