A cop car pulled into the near empty garage behind me and I felt very paranoid that I shouldn't have been out and felt myself starting to sweat which I then thought was making it worse cos they would think I was out with a fever. But they ignored me completely.

Tsietisin posted:I love that Hey Duggee appears to have been made by old school ravers The love that goes into Hey Duggee is insane. There is loads of good music across several genres, it looks awesome, it's educational, has lovely morals and loads for the parents. The thing that always stands out to me is the attention to detail, for example how you can tell the social and family backgrounds of the characters from how they travel to the clubhouse. I have clearly thought too much about this so in my view kids TV goes: God tier (just outstanding) - Hey Duggee, Sarah & Duck Tier one (Great for kids, decent for you) - Go Jetters, Clangers, many would say Bing. Tier two (Still great for kids, annoying as gently caress for you) - I would say Bing, In the Night Garden, Paw Patrol, Thomas, Something Special, Justin's House. Low tier (No discernable valuable content or promotes questionable behaviour, really annoying) - Horrid Henry, Teletubbies, poo poo tier (Mind poison) - The pig who shall not be named. My top tip is that the BBC stuff is in general a country mile better than the commercial stuff. Zalakwe fucked around with this message at 15:10 on Mar 26, 2020 |

Just got back from the supermarket (Morrisons in Acton, West London, if that information is useful to anyone). It didn't seem too bad. Toilet paper and pasta were all out, and a lot of staples were very low, but you could usually get something if you weren't fussy. Meat, fruit and veg, milk and bread were all fine though.

Went to the supermarket in Leith yesterday for the first time in like 2 weeks, in basically full hazmat gear. No real social distancing, as many people on the streets as normal. Only saw 3 actual masks, all worn by young people. Saw 2 old ladies with scarves over their mouths, one of whom pulled it down to talk to some guy. Even in my gear I didn't feel very safe so cut my shopping short instead of doing a round of shops. Got the most important thing though: cheese is back on the menu! E still literally no loo roll or soap lol. loving hell we're gonna be hosed for food huh?

Yeah it's the going for the sake of going that we're supposed to stop. There is an issue with the restrictions on buying for instance drugs for isolating people. From an email exchange with Tesco their current advice to a friend who is trying to support three households with shopping is that they need to make three trips. Which is dumb but until we get ration books or something dunno what they're supposed to do.

For anyone going stir crazy like me who doesn't mind some free videogames: If you have a PS4 controller you can get a week of free Playstation Now which lets you play about 200 playstation games for free via streaming. It works quite well but caveat it does require at least a low-end gaming/high-end office PC . The delay is barely noticable even over wifi. In particular there's some great games to beat all the gloom and doom and take your mind off the pandemic, like Bloodborne, Lone Survivor and Everybody's gone to rapture. On a more serious note there's a lot of very good games, console exclusives like Tokyo Jungle, Red Dead Redemption 1, Horizon: New Dawn, Persona 5 and Hard Rain and even some quite new (and therefore expensive) games. No idea how they got the publishers to agree, because on the competing platforms you have to pay for each game as well, but I'm certainly not going to complain. Here's the list of games available e: PS3 controller does work too, but not for all games. There might be some way to emulate it if you don't have either, but the streaming software goes quite deep into the system so not sure how well that would work. And frankly a PS4 controller is a great deal and probably the best controller on the market anyway. Oh and you might have to quit Steam and DS4Windows for it to recognize the controller properly. My aunt went to the supermarket early yesterday morning - during the elderly folks hour - and and said the stock levels were better, though not back to normal. No pasta still, and a lack of fresh meat and frozen goods, but loo roll is back in stock, and she got me some tinned potatoes (which she considerately left outside my front door for me to grab). They were only letting people in a few at a time and shoppers were instructed to keep their distance at the tills. It sounded quite civilised. I managed to get on the Sainsburys priority customer list, and am now seeing some home delivery slots actually available.
