 OK, takeaways: - Guxue is legitimately amazing; I can't believe some of the situations where he made Rein work. - Ria's Sigma suuuuucks; I wonder if the caster theory that he got subbed out for Sasin because of his poor positioning is true. - Godsb is an above-average DPS starter in the league with a big hero pool, but he's not elite and can't carry a below-average partner. - Adora continues to disappoint; his hero pool seems to consist of two (Brig and Mei) and he's average at one and below-average at the other. - Bebe has long been my main source of frustration on the roster, but I guess he had a good game according to the casters? - IDK had a super-quiet game mostly on Baptiste, but I guess he must've been functional at least because I don't remember him ever getting picked first; it really hurt not to have him on the Lucio - Chengdu is always a "trap game" type of opponent because their style is so out there, and that didn't really change from season to season. We obviously aren't good enough to crush them or whatever, but we did seem to piece our poo poo together over the course of the match. I think our best-case scenario is around 8th-place and our worst-case scenario is around 14th-place; we would need a better projectile DPS and I guess maybe a better flex tank in order to seriously contend with the top seven. - Loved seeing two teams basically never mirror each other, playing totally different styles. That was awesome! Now that we've seen the Chinese teams play, here are my power rankings: 1.) Shock 2.) Fusion 3.) Dragons 4.) Titans 5.) Eternal 6.) Dynasty 7.) NYXL 8.) Reign 9.) Gladiators 10.) Spark 11.) Charge 12.) Hunters 13.) Valiant 14.) Spitfire 15.) Outlaws 16.) Mayhem 17.) Fuel 18.) Justice 19.) Defiant 20.) Uprising OK, it was fun finally getting to wear the Spark jersey and hat that I got for Christmas. Back to bed!

20ish minutes until Shanghai vs Chengdu and Shanghai announced their starting roster as Fearless, Void, Diem, Dding, Izayaki, and LeeJaeGon. Putting Dding in against the Hunters seems like an inspired plan since he's one of the only Pharahs in the league that can compete with Jinmu. Jinmu won't be getting free reign of the skies this match.

Long pauses is how I actually expected the online games to go so I'm surprised it took until Day 2 for them to hit. Edit - I've finally put my finger on what's been bothering me about the broadcasts. It's the lack of ambient noise from a crowd. Someone gets a 4k and there's just no reaction beyond the casters' describing it. No gasps from the crowd at a headshot or cheers at a map win.
