His spoken-word stuff is pretty good, especially the stuff that's a bit more stand-up-ish (some of the poetry gets really loving overwrought) - some of the tales of early Black Flag (and why he's such a big meathead, at least physically) are absolutely amazing.

He's a cop in almost every appearance on telly, which is pretty funny. TBF if you had no context and just a picture of him you'd assume he'd be about to tell you exactly who should be allowed to use what toilets, completely unprompted.

'ks sake, I saw 110+ new posts and thought the Queen had died and JRM announced himself Lord President in the interim and ordered coronavirus put in the water, but it's that music picture from the mid-00s. I remember when that went round, I think the trick is that some of the things you see are doing double duty, like the Scissor Sisters are also Pink.

goddamnedtwisto posted:Peas and runner beans give you the best bang for your buck, in terms of just how much better they are fresh from the garden compared to shop-bought, IMO. They're like a completely different food. When I was a kid we used to grow peas in the back garden and I don't think any of them ever made it onto a plate, we'd just eat them straight off the plant. Cucumbers are good because you can grow proper pickling cucumbers like what the Americans have instead of being restricted to 'English' ones which are all we get here but are slightly luxury there. Also I got like half a dozen growing them last year while one of my tomato plants gave me precisely nothing.

I'm in a quandary. I have to get away, or at least have something to look forward to, my parents (69&67) were trapped here when Ryanair downed tools, and I 'm going to find myself digging shallow graves soon (Sorry goons who are worried about parents, but I'm at the end of my tether) So, I thought a nice holiday might be good. I found a good deal going to Zakynthos, leaving 31/8.Is it too early? Everyday it keeps creeping up in price, but even with insurance theres no guarantee of getting anything back, if there are no flights.

I've put just a deposit down for a UK event in the middle of September and am feeling very iffy about it. If your Greek holiday in August is like an amazing meaningful thing you don't want to miss then okay risk the booking but if you're just trying to get a cheap holiday then check the small print/your insurance thoroughly and then probably cancel it.
