There are no other cases really though, tests take days still if you even have any to blow so that whole scheme is pretty questionable

Ngl, I am hoping that one lesson learned from this global clusterfuck is that maybe just maybe we (the collective national/global we) might realize that we should actually empower and listen to subject matter experts.

Instead of thinking dumbfuck #315-4a is more qualified than dumbfuck #417-3b for magical rose-tinted reasons due to their lack of competent leadership, maybe just maybe we can start valuing the folks that ACTUALLY know poo poo.

I know, I know, it’s probably too optimistic. But hey wishful thinking...

Thats the point. The article points out that they were supposed to take patients that aren't exhibiting corona signs to free up hospital beds, and they have three patients.

I have no idea what the need or extent is over there. My girlfriends hospital shut down anything that wasnt extremely necessary 2 weeks ago and is operating at a skeleton crew to spread out exposure. She said it was spooky quiet before she went to WFH the last two weeks. Hoping NY is the same way. It's better to be sick at home now than to go to a hospital.

I'd also imagine there's some idiotic provincialism, ambulances default to the closest hospital in emergencies in NYC, and who knows how easy/difficult it is to load a potential triage case onto the boat from dockside?

Which of course people would probably at least accept if those were the words coming from leadership, and not some form of: “Your safety and the safety of your loved ones is our first priority...”
