So why didn't the HSR guys ever branch or do anything and mostly just petered out in the mid-00s only to come back way later after everyone had grown up and streaming video made their platform obsolete?

I read that their dad died, and while he wasnt really working on HSR, he was basically their target audience/sounding board. So they just lost interest.

They did? Both Matt and Mike Chapman have done a bunch of work on various kids shows, including Yo Gabba Gabba, Gravity Falls, and The Aquabats! Super Show!

They also came out with a board game last year based on Trogdor, which Matt demonstrated in character as Strong Bad at GenCon, which was probably one of the highlights of my life. (I got a signed copy!)

When I want to relax, I read an essay by Engels. When I want something more serious, I read Corto Maltese.
HSR is astounding in how good is still is, considering the time it came out and how poo poo the internet generally was at that time.

I was just thinking the same thing. I remember seeing it in theaters in 2008 and there were only like 3 other people in the theater and it was gone like a week later. I remember thinking it was great at the time, but that was me 12 years ago.

Now I have Rock Me Sexy Jesus stuck in my head. Amazing how that's all it takes for my brain to magically remember that song from over a decade ago but I can never remember any of my passwords....

I just watched it 2 days ago (hence the clip) and also previously... 2 years ago-ish. Both times I was very happy with it.

So I responded to this post, from this very thread, made a little over a week ago.

A person of their word, Pissed Ape Sexist sent me not only Spam, but a loaf of Wonderbread and a bottle of Miracle Whip. I made the unboxing pics yesterday after I was delighted to see a box sitting on my porch. Full GBS thread will follow when I get around to fryin' up that Spam.

What's the connection between these posts? Careful observers will note that, yes, I happen to be wearing an original Trogdor shirt given to me in 2003. 'Cause that's how I roll while going crazy in quarantine, and I think it's a bit funny, at least coincidentally.

I appear to have completely glossed over when pissed ape sexist replied to my post with this offer, and I'm kicking myself for it now.

However I am very happy that someone else got to live my dream of one day eating spam the way it is appearantly meant to be. Looking forward to that thread!
