I had one of those dreams recently despite being out of school for a decade now except I ended up doing well on the final.

I just had the "I'm supposed to graduate this week, but there was some massive final project I didn't know about" dream last night, probably just from the stress of being an essential worker etc but it beats the hell out of the UPS dream. Anyone who has ever loaded trucks has had a dream where a conveyor belt kool-aid mans into some otherwise peaceful dream and starts burying you in boxes. It used to be a joke that your seniority date should be the first time you have the conveyor belt dream, it was so universal.

specifically they are a potential symptom of ptsd and cptsd, but just having recurring stress dreams does not necessarily mean you have either diagnosis. but they are a taste of the kind of hell that living with the repercussions of severe trauma can be.

also on a seemingly unrelated note, the popular club drug molly (mdma) is extremely effective at combating pstd in conjunction with talk therapy

When I was 8 or 9 I watched the original Halloween with a buddy after my mom told me not to. I should have listened.

To this day that motherfucker Michael Myers will randomly show up in my dreams, and while he doesn't scare me, I'll inevitably always try to run but my legs seem to weigh about 50 pounds each. I can't ever remember him catching up to me, but my dude, go gently caress with someone else's dreams. It's been almost 3 decades, like, drat.

Side note I've learned in the past year: Smoke enough weed and you won't dream, but when you stop smoking, your dreams will be intense as hell.

I have a hard time remembering any dreams. Iirc it's actually a skill you can work in by keeping a log and just genuinely making an effort to remember and think about them. But meh.

My most vivid dreams that I can remember involve writing software and trying to resolve a problem I was working on, and trying all of these things and nothing working and there's a deadline but I'm not being able to see the code as everything was arbitrary dream logic.

Trying to read things in dreams is a good way to verify you’re dreaming and also annoy the hell out of yourself since the words/characters keep shifting constantly.

Do you mean this in the sense that you are scarfing ice cream in your underwear, or you're eating it directly out of your pants? and in that case, is it UK pants or US pants, because I feel like that's an important detail here.
