SpacePig posted:Don't worry, empty grocery stores and long lines at food banks aren't a sign of capitalism failing at its most basic level. This is actually what socialism is like, so if you don't like this, you don't like socialism. Trump floated the idea of trumpbux which is unmitigated socialism, Congress voted it through, couple weeks later stores are empty and people are in bread lines. Yup, timeline checks out. Truly, we learned nothing from communism. Clearly America needs to remove the social safety nets it just threw together from the money scraps it had laying around after throwing $6+ trillion at the stock market which is definitely not communism.

Breakfast All Day posted:remember folks, death threats are totally ok and normal if youre an elected representative threatening your constituents! You just have to make sure you don't threaten any specific individuals, and don't imply that you'd be causing any of the harm. So for example, you can totally wish something awful and unfortunate were to happen to a percentage of otherwise unspecified Indiana state legislators. I mean, not because that'd be good, but it'd be the lesser evil, obviously.

I thought the way it worked according to Facebook was you have to add more than one qualifier, so "Bad things should happen to Indiana state legislators who also own one or more cars".

Maaaaaybe, in some places, if you're single and don't have any debts/extra expenses. Like yeah some healthy young guy with no dependents living in small town Kansas. Ok maybe he can do 10 weeks with that $1,200 without any trouble. But anyone with a family, or living essentially anywhere on either coast or any major city, loving forget about it.

What's the problem? This should be easy: just cut back on the Starbucks and avocado toast, turn the thermostat down a bit, take shorter showers, and stop using your living room and one of your bedrooms in order to cut back on rent. No problem.
