Seeing that nonsense about "HOPE THE MOZLEMS GET THEIR PLACE CLOSED" makes me so flustered because the muslim communities are not rampant deathcult evangelicals. Everyone got the message from the mosque council of our region saying "Mosques are closed. Pray at home.". This was then followed by community WhatsApp groups memeing it up with a McDonalds worker pasted in front of the building saying "Mosque Broke, Asifun (meaning 'sorry')".

I gotta go Ramadan without samosas and still hear this BS.
On top of that, doesn't Islam also have some catch-all rule that's basically like, "You should follow the Quran, but if you have to choose between breaking its laws and dying, break the loving law, we're cool with it"? I know Judaism has one like that.

It’s not really peaceful if an unknown quantity of attendants are destined to die from a highly contagious virus they contract while assembling is it?

It's not like people haven't been arrested or fined for violating stay-at-home orders. I think this is correct in the interests of public safety but I also don't think it's responsible to just ignore the tension between that and civil liberties.

More peoples' civil liberties have been violated during non-coronovirus periods than they are now, I'm sure. Just because a handful of dumb sheriffs or whatever don't know how to implement things with stay-at-home orders doesn't mean this is some kinda' new thing. I'm pretty sure all of those folks at the protests came, bitched, then went home with nary a single intervention by the state.

Given that I helped compile information about online services from non-Christian denominations over the past few weeks, I thought it'd be best for me to watch this and understand where he was trying to come from. It's even worse than Aaron's comments make it out to be, and it's absolutely disgusting to see this kind of projection happen alongside conflating Judaism with Israel. I know that trying to blame Muslims for the failings demonstrated by other faiths (who am I kidding, some Christian Evangelical denominations) is par for the course for him, but it's particularly egregious considering the ramifications of Easter services.

There are specificities related to plagues (if there's one where you are, don't leave. If there's one where you're going, don't go) and yes, there is a precedent on the preservation of life (beyond just some hypocritical view on abortion) being important.
