God, I've just been tying it back and anything in the ponytail that sticks out the end of a fist gets the scissors taken to it. I mean, until I can afford facial surgery my lovely haircut is kind of the least of my problems, in the meantime I'm just letting snapchat filters do the heavy lifting and crying into my pillow like a healthy adult.

I'm not saying some consultant developers are scamming the NHS for a laugh or were unfamiliar with 2020 phones but based on these two https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/20/coronavirus-digital-contact-tracing-will-fail-unless-privacy-is-respected-experts-warn and https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2020/apr/16/nhs-in-standoff-with-apple-and-google-over-coronavirus-tracing it looks like the NHS was working on a contract tracing app that: -Google and Apple won't allow on their phones -would not work if the phone’s screen was turned off -wouldn't work if an app other than the contact tracer was being used at the same time -would require the screen to be active all the time so would rapidly run down battery life, and would leave users’ personal data at risk if their phone was lost or stolen while the app was in use. So basically it would be pretty badly suited to how people use smartphones in 2020?

Though since that last post I got chatting with one of my neighbours and she invited me round for a socially-distant brew. I have had a bit of time to reflect, I think I constantly need something to be doing as I get so restless. I'm working from home, have a couple of commissions, plenty of side projects and hobbies, live close to the countryside, so I'm very lucky - I'm also extremely bored. Waaah. I'm alright, just been struggling a bit this weekend and lack motivation. Hope others are managing.

If you're always that restless then I might respectfully suggest that adding another spinning plate isn't going to ease your boredom. Gotta make peace with doing nothing sometimes. Distractions are fine and all, but if you can't just sit still for a bit and chill then you might be running from something you need to deal with (speaking from experience...)

I wonder if super chefs can still eat ordinary food for mere mortals like you or I might cook, or if everything not prepared in the subtlest manner with the finest ingredients tastes like garbage to their ultra-refined tastebuds and makes them want to hurl. Could Anthony Bourdain have stomached a frozen pizza? e: A frozen pizza that had subsequently been prepared according to the appropriate instructions, for the inevitable pedant.

Am just reading that Sunday Times article on DePfeffels failings during the start of corvid 19. Over the weekend I was talking with a friend and as far back as January, she chucked in a job in east London in anticipation of what was about to happen (she shares a home with 3 extremely vulnerable adults) and I was asking whether the course I attended in London in March was going to be cancelled. So there really was no excuse for the govt - presumably with considerably more information than available to my friend and I - not to know what was coming. I saw that film Flood on the weekend (2009 - David Suchet, Robert Carlyle) about a huge flood breaking through the Thames Barrier so I know what the COBRA room looks like (maybe it really does, but I doubt it) and the Deputy PM (Suchet) having to make decisions while the PM was on a jolly in Australia.
