Its amazing that these chuds think their freedom is being taken away. They are just merely being prevented from doing the stupidest thing possible yet they still found a way to do it.

Whenever I see stupid right wingers talking about liberty or freedom it just upsets me because they are really invested in the authoritarian party that is interested in taking your rights away...recently notable the first amendment right to take part in BDS. Its almost like they have the FOX news mentality of what liberty is. Never ceases to blow my mind. I would love to hear what you guys think their idea of freedom and liberty is.

It's easy. Anytime they've been a dickhead in public, or around their families, and got a negative reaction for it? That's a denial of liberty. Anytime anyone, up to and including store managers, police, their own co-workers and boss, or their own immediate family tells them that perhaps their slightest whimsy isn't permissible right then or is assholish to other people around at the time, that's a denial of freedom or liberty. It's "I can do whatever I want whenever I want and you can't do anything about it" writ large. This is why they see something like taking over a national park visitor's center in Oregon for God knows what as some heroic stand for liberty and freedom. They're toddlers, OP. Denying them the cookie they want is infringing on their freedoms.

EDIT

And the racism on top of all that. Can't forget the racism.

The best I can do with the colonoscopy sign is that it's the normal time for that person to get a colonoscopy but they were not able to get an appointment earlier than 2023. Which is bullshit because medical services are not affected by the stay-at-home order, they're just all being dedicated to covid patients right now so your routine rear end checkup is just going to have to wait regardless.

This person probably also believes that if we had ~socialized medicine~ we'd have horrible wait times for all procedures anyway.

His campaign ads aren't just for his own die-hards.

Trump is actively pushing ads that are designed to make you think "there's no difference at all between Trump and Biden, this poo poo is funny but just doesn't matter." Someone who was going to go out, sigh, and pull the lever against Trump, but decides to just stay home, is just as much of a victory for his campaign as convincing someone who was going to stay at home to go vote for him.

He's not doing so well at turning out new voters, so this is a core part of his campaign strategy. It's just another angle on depressing and suppressing turnout. His campaign team isn't making these ads because they like funny memes; they're making it because they want to convince people like us to believe something that benefits them.

you're almost there, just ditch the egotism. predictably, the two places most liberals went in response to Trump's victory were 1. The Evil Wizard Putin Has Cast A Spell Over The Left, Russianly 2. What Can We Do To Win Back Our Republican Co-Workers, because these are most amenable to the upper-middle-class perception of the universe. this productively employed Salena Zito and Rachel Maddow for a couple of months, so who am I to argue with it, but unfortunately by the numbers neither of these had fuckall to do with the problem.

the biggest statistical reason all that Cambridge Analytica poo poo was relevant was that people voted for Obama who did not vote for Hillary. and one of the things Cambridge Analytica did was microtarget populations in swing states where you could make the very convincing argument "Hillary Clinton Does Not Give A poo poo Whether You Live Or Die"

which landed pretty well!

yeah a real big one here was that Trump was possible because his base didn't trust corporate media, whereas the democratic base did, and the democratic base was busy being told that Bernie Sanders winning Nevada on the back of being the only candidate with any hispanic base was equivalent to the Nazis marching into Paris.
