Pash scouting report: I think the mikes and the warriors will win. Hard to say for Ws vs Crows, but I lean Ws. Crows had a better season overall but have sucked for the last month. So that might keep going. I have no idea of xmen vs misanthropes. I think I like misanthrops but meh. I can work with this... SUB-PAR LEAGUE 16: SEMI FINALS MATCHUP 1: Sebastian Thunderbuckets vs Camden Buzzsaw The playoffs have started! I've been informed that if I force anybody to write post-Week 26 that actually qualifies as a human rights violation so it's just me this time around! Today's matchup features the 111 win juggernaut Sebastian Thunderbuckets vs the plucky underdog "Fought with the Mets up to Game 162 for the division title" Camden Buzzsaw. Camden is a good team, but it's fair to say that them winning would be a massive upset. Let's see how it goes! Game 1  Camden takes a 3-0 lead early, but it proves not to be enough as the Thunderbuckets power back to tie it, and then grind out a 14 inning 4-3 victory, thanks to the heroics of Frank Chance, of all people. This is the sort of game that it really stings to lose if you're the Buzzsaw, but you can also take it as a sign that you can hold your own, and you can win this series. Game 2  While you could take some optimism from Game 1 if you're Clown Fundamentals, losing this one sucks rear end. Another extra innings loss in a game that shouldn't have gotten there to begin with. A 4-2 lead in the 8th, thrown away by a truly wretched Dennis Eckersley outing, and the Thunderbuckets head to Camden with two games you can argue they shouldn't have won. Game 3  What started as a tall task for the Buzzsaw now looks nigh-impossible as they can't get anything off of Pedro Martinez and fall into a 3-0 series hole. It'll take nothing short of a miracle, now. Game 4  A big 6th inning for the Buzzsaw and an insurance Babe Ruth homerun in the 8th give the Buzzsaw their first win in the series. It's not impossible, but could this be the start of their comeback? Game 5  It was not. GAUNTLET INFO I would like to bring the Sub-Par down to 16 teams, but jumping from 20 to 16 seems too excessive in testing, so Sub-Par League 27 will feature 18 teams. What does this mean for the Gauntlet? 7 repechage losers, 8 EC teams, 3 survivors WEB Dat Bois? ABANDONED AND DEAD. I didn't think we'd end with such a whimper.  Go W's. Bring me the Pick 'Em Title.  Warriors pretty much HAVE to lose to somebody in the Dynamo League Championship Series for Balla, Squid, and I to be in this - especially if the Thunderbuckets win the Sub Par. If Buckets win the Sub Par - and the Warriors win the Dynamo League - that's it. Yaya wins. If the Doom win the Sub Par - and the Warriors win the Dynamo League - the only challenge Yaya would really have is if the W's beat them in the Finals. In that scenario, I'd win. Balla can't falter anywhere here. Realistically he wants the Misanthropes to win. But he's out of the Pick 'Em if they win it all - as Squid will win then. Sub-Par League 16: Semi-Finals Matchup 2: Khartoum Doom vs John Roberts' RoboUmps I'm gonna be honest with you guys, I had plans for this nice little writeup about Storg vs Air Bud and I was gonna go through with it but today was all sorts of lovely. It was supposed to be a Gauntlet update but that's even more effort and I'm just not up to it. Enjoy the series. NOTE FOR HABEASDORKUS: Rickey Henderson still had a couple days left on the DL so he is not in the lineup for Games 1 & 2, he is in the rest of the series Game 1: John Roberts' RoboUmps @ Khartoum Doom (series tied 0-0)  So, Rube Waddell might still be broken. It's worth pointing out for McFreeze, as the RoboUmps take Game 1 in Khartoum. Game 2: John Roberts' RoboUmps @ Khartoum Doom (JRR leads 1-0)  Disaster strikes for the RoboUmps in the 8th inning as a routine flyball to right field is bungled by Babe Ruth, allowing Slug Lyfe to take the lead and not look back as they even the series. Game 3: Khartoum Doom @ John Roberts' RoboUmps (series tied 1-1)  Babe Ruth makes up for his error in Game 2 and hits a heroic game tying home run in the bottom of the 9th, but it proves to not be enough as the depth of the Doom bullpen outlasts the RoboUmps, capped off by a K-Rod meltdown in the 13th inning, allowing 2 runs, both off of wild pitches. Game 4: Khartoum Doom @ John Roberts' RoboUmps (KHA leads 2-1)  Hey! I recognize that Walter Johnson! That's my Walter Johnson! Anyways, the 19 year old Big Train, who was obviously not going to be this good if he hadn't learned from the best on the World Warriors, grabs the win as the Doom take a 3-1 stranglehold on the series. Game 5: Khartoum Doom @ John Roberts' RoboUmps (KHA leads 3-1)  Not a great outing from Rube Waddell again, but the RoboUmps aren't able to capitalize as the Doom take the lead in the first inning and never look back, taking the series in 5 and setting up a date with the Thunderbuckets in the finals.
