It's like you guys loathe fun. All of you were guffawing and laughing at Zebba's antics, but now? "Oh, it's too risky." "It's not worth it." "Why should we?" "It's not even that good a RADAR." "We can get something later." I swear y'all are on some poo poo. For gently caress's sake, this is almost as bad as Yachtgate. I mean, c'mon now. Live a little! STEAL THAT SUMBITCH! Gimme more Zebba shenanigans, dammit! Let's go!

However, with only one anti-radiation missile for this mission planning segment I think its worth considering as an option.

Don't steal the radar. It's really far away, it's likely defended by some dudes, and storywise if we want to steal/acquire some shiny toys I'd rather get some more set up than going full 'rogue rolls pickpocket roll' on every NPC we see. Gameplay wise would want to break into a depot and steal some SAMs instead.

Right, the Groundmaster will remain until we deal with it another day. As others pointed out it's not a direct threat in this mission. Speaking missions, Zebba is available for use in your mission and/or to recon the areas. Should the thread wish to send him out let me know, otherwise use him in your mission plans.

My joke answer's 'drinking buddies', the real answer is 'zebba could use a posse' and like, a bit of support. I think having a bit more muscle on the ground for this theatre - and especially if we want to make any sort of heist missions would be prudent. So like Oceans zebbelevens? snatch up talent/see who's flying in to work the latest bloody gold rush, and/or people who used to work in areas we're going to be flying into: Native guides who know where air defenses are and suchlike are always useful.

Alternate option but considering our low ammo roll this turn and potential for the future can we maybe have Zebba go out and establish some black market contacts and see if we can't acquire some additional munitions for our air fleet?

Zebba, originally a Caravan guide and import-export dude, has found a raggedy band of unemployed import-export people. Just like him! Seems that now that Amazon.Nigeria has opened up there's not much need for rugged caravan drivers. So now they ramble about, finding work as they can. Now these folks are not combat troops, Zebba said as much. But they can be eyes, ears, agents behind lines that would never get caught, but most of all are reliable. Want a switch thrown on a train junction? Boom. Done. Want a delivery made to get intel on a hostile base? Boom. Done. I see one mission from Bac. Anyone else in the works?

I'll toss something together as well, why not. I'm thinking that, since the threat is from a generally unknown area we should adopt a dispersed posture for the BARCAP. Best base nearby is probably Diffa, right on the border and at the eastern edge of the conflict zone. It Is A Top Gun Reference Intent: 1) Maintain BARCAP near Nigerian Border (marked in light blue) 2) Strike rail bridge as target of opportunity (marked in blue) 3) Use Zebba & Friends to find one of the airstrips our opponent is operating out of...(marked in purple) 4) ...And then, we'll hit it hard in our Hayard-Gunnes signature move. It's as much about shooting up planes as it is leaving our calling card. Now I know you don't like flying in Vics and history has shown flights of four are superior to flights of three, but I think it's cooler and I need more pieces on the board so you can deal with it. Groupings: MAVERICKS -3x Eagles, loaded for air superiority. Pack BVR missiles as available. GEESE -3x Eagles, loaded for air superiority. Pack BVR missiles as available. ICEMEN -3x Eagles, loaded for air superiority. Pack BVR missiles as available. MOVIE STARS -3x Eagles, loaded for multirole. Self-escorting strike if possible. CAMERA DRONES -3x Safran Patroller UAV MYTHICAL MIGS -3x Fencers, fitted with bombs for striking the bridge. AGGRESSOR SQUADRON -6x Fencers, fitted with strike package. -1x Fencer w/ Khedge anti-radiation missiles -2x Fencers w/ anti-runway bombs Before the mission starts, Zebba will use his contacts to locate one or more of the airstrips these raiders have been launching out of. Mavericks and Geese will maintain BARCAP vicinity of the border and intercept any outgoing strikes. Vector onto threats as necessary, don't get too caught up in one area or another. After BARCAP has launched, the Camera Drones will go up and proceed to the rail bridge and airstrip to spot the targets, light 'em up, and get good footage. Once BARCAP is up and the Camera Drones are in place, we'll launch our strikes. Icemen and the Mythical MiGs will proceed across the Nigerian border to strike the rail bridge. Iceman will remain on station and sealclub anyone trying to take off. Aggressor Squadron and the Movie Stars will strike the airstrip. Perform SEAD with the Khedge as needed. Operation Whack-A-Mole This is a really simple mission. Scout risking our drones (we are insured so this is fine). Then missile a handful of hangers and put all our Eagles on BVR->Dogfight mode. Should result in pretty good coverage with a number of cool moments. Also I have asked the laser be used to cover a mine site as otherwise it will never see action. I've labeled the bases I know about on the maps, some are a bit away from their namesake towns. Note that I don't care about the enemy attacking our Fencers as 1) cruise missiles with 60nm range are very hard to intercept before launch and 2) we're insured anyway. Mission-Wide WRA: AIM-120C: - 2 rnds at 4th generation, 5th generation - 1 rnd at everything else - Note: this may well be the default Pre-Op Zebba's Caravaners - Pick one or more of the Nigerian bases identified here and see if any are active. Radar - Position at Diffa, radar active Laser - Position very slightly S one of the mine sites (a few hundred feet) Drones -> 1@Zinder, 1@Goure, 1@Diffa, ELINT+Radar loadout that contains both - Launch in pre-op and scout as per hook patterns on the map. Approach to 5nm of each base. - If a hostile CAP launches, withdraw and start the Op Phase immediately. - Set altitude just below the clouds. If no cloud, 12000ft. Op Phase 10x SU-24M2 -> 5@Goure, 4@Diffa -> AS-18 Cruise Missile loadout - Missile hangars detected in the drone scout wave / by the caravaners 5x F-15I -> 3@Goure, 2@Diffa -> 6x AIM-120C loadout. - Bring them up immediately and patrol a line on the border. - Doctrine: -- Fuel State RTB: Yes, units leave group -- Weapon State Pre-Planned: Winchester, Mission-Specific Expended, ALLOW A2A GUNS 7x F-15I -> 3@Goure, 4@Diffa -> 6x Sparrow loadout. - Patrol a line 10nm behind the AIM-120C. Objective is to hopefully swing in with sparrows while the enemy is dodging AMRAAMs. - Doctrine: -- Fuel State RTB: Yes, units leave group -- Weapon State Pre-Planned: Winchester, Mission-Specific Expended, ALLOW A2A GUNS 2x SU-24M2 -> Diffa -> AS-18 Cruise Missile loadout - Missile the rail bridge Special Instructions - After cruise missiles are launched reassign SU-24M2 to a reserve Support mission behind the mines we're protecting. -These reserves can be assigned to intercept any leakers using their heaters.
