Knowing the books of the OT does not correlate to knowing the jewish faith, but Kirk equates it as such and his supporters ignore the leap of logic. I forgot which NPR show it was, but it had an episode about a "urban" highschool that disrupted the HS debate circuit . This is why you see very very white failkids like Shapio and Tomi ( newest Fox News fanservice,) machine gun talking points in their early career. dumb people think rattling off facts is what makes you smart / win.
