You don't have to 8e a good person to 8e a hero.

The Shadow Passes posted:

Following Ryan’s painful discovery of the history of the late Roman empire and a bit of confusion about what the word ‘goth’ meant in that context, Graham’s correct guess about how he could be two people at once, and the Doctor’s anecdotes about playing the triangle for the ‘lovely Scottish lad and his dad’, Yaz decided to make a serious attempt to deduce whose name she was wearing. ‘Am I a woman?’ she said.

A new mini-episode of the Sarah Jane Adventures... it looks like they're going to finally give Sarah Jane an ending.

I never really watched Sarah Jane Adventures outside of the Death of the Doctor episode RTD wrote, but it seemed a lot of fun and reminded me that I would have really liked to have seen RTD write for the 11th (or hell, any) Doctor.

It's nice they're gonna do a send off for Elizabeth Sladen, still boggles my mind she died.

I didn't see much of it either, but I have seen the last scene of the series and thought that was already a decent open-ended send off. I trust that Rusty will hit the right note with this though. It's been however many years since she died and just reading that announcement still got me.

That farewell to Sarah Jane was just beautiful, and reading through RTD's tweets reminds just how wonderfully enthusiastic he could be and how it carried through to the show and often helped paper over the cracks.

On one of the commentary tracks, Mark Strickson said that he always played scenes with other companions like they were in a secret relationship. I remember Janet Fielding not being too impressed, haha.

Seriously, if you're enough of a fan to be in these threads and you've never heard a Peter Davison commentary track, you need to invite them into your life. It's just the right mix of serious love for the show with enough lightness to not take it more seriously than it deserves. The same spirit as ran all the way through The Fiveish Doctors Reboot.

Peter was in the first music video for Lewis' song Someone You Loved. Unfortunately they shot a second video when he hit the US, because Lewis wasn't in the original video and they didn't want people to think this new teen heart-throb was an old man contemplating death.

Apparently all the Doctors from Tom to Jodie and Jo Martin have recorded a message for a BBC telethon thing tonight https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-52379802.

BBC posted:

Ten Doctor Who actors from the past 50 years will say thank you to real doctors and other NHS staff on a star-studded BBC fundraising telethon later.

BBC One's The Big Night In will feature Jodie Whittaker, the current Doctor, and a host of her predecessors.

Little Britain, Peter Kay, The Vicar of Dibley and Catherine Tate will all also return during the three-hour special.

Children in Need and Comic Relief have joined forces for the first time for the event, which begins at 19:00 BST.

The Doctors have recorded a message thanking front-line staff for their work during the coronavirus crisis. It will be broadcast just before the weekly Clap For Carers at 20:00 BST.
I expect it'll be on Youtube etc afterwards.

Huh. I've never gotten that specific interpretation, but he does play all his scenes like he's got a secret for sure, which if you're from an all-boys school definitely reads as closeted to me.
