Everything I listen to is adult contemporary.

Try to get someone excited about The National. Every rap album I have if you run it through a music database comes back tagged with “dad rap” for genre.

I'm not sure if this is more 90s or 2000s, but a guy from work just emailed me from a Lycos email address. I remember that poo poo from back in the day, and looked it up, you can still get Angelfire websites.

I shouldn't talk poo poo though. I still have a Yahoo account that dates back to 1999 or so....

I think it still exists, technically. I know that the worst of them-- The Nostalgia Critic-- is still being god-awful and fooling 12 year-olds somewhere out there.

Others started their own solo YT stuff like Todd and are good. Lindsay Ellis in-particular is way better now that she isn't following the lead set by that simpering midwestern know-nothing.

My plug goes to Movie Nights aka Allison Pregler, though. She's been doing an episode-by-episode recap of Baywatch since 2015 (including Baywatch NIGHTS) and while it won't be to everyone's tastes I love it. I never watched the show in the 90s and even in the 21st Century it can be hard as a straight guy to look past the pandering, so it's genuine fun to see a straight woman cut through the bullshit and focus in on all the terrible Oreo Cookie that surrounds the cheesecake filling on the show. The show was loving bonkers.

Yea that video was great. Watch it with Maggy Mae Fish's who talks about the politics of it (Spoiler its gross Christian Fascism Monarchism, thanks TS Elliot) as a good pairing.

Early Nostolgia Critic, like around 2008 and such was entertaining, because he talked about actual stuff from the 90s and earlier, and wasn't so cartoony. His screams were not nearly as common. It's where i discovered a lot about Nicktoons and stuff like Pete and Pete. That Gamers Vs Critics thing was kind of amusing, but then the first movie came out and god drat, you are not a filmmaker or anything.

If you want to know what happened to Channel Awesome

But hey this is about the 90s!
Mission Hill is one of my favorite shows ever, but it was doomed from the start by simply being on the WB at the time when it was turning into "teen cries over popular current song" channel. It was made by Josh Wienstien and Bill Oakley who are probably your favorite Simpsons people because they ran the best seasons, and also wrote great episodes in earlier seasons. They were the first fans of the show to be hired so they have a very clear vision of the show. They also were a lot younger than the rest of the writers so they noticed there was no way for them to make young people jokes. So Mission Hill was created for that. The look was based on indie comics of the time, mostly Hate, and featured teenagers and 20 somethings in an inner city neighbourhood. The thing that stikes me about it is how ahead of its time it was. The second episode features the nerdy younger brother playing an MMORPG which like, who would have even known that was a thing except extreme dorkos like us? I knew Ultimate Online existed, but never played it or didn't know anyone who did. I don't think Everquest or Dark Age of Camelot were even a thing in 1999? Lots of stuff like that in the show. One scene from that episode really spoke to me, and probably everyone who experienced the frustrating of a game just not wanting to install.

Mission Hill was an absolute gem of a show. The Ed Wood final episode is still one of my all time favorite TV shows.

Andy vs. The Real World is a great send-up of reality TV and MTV's decline. "Say hello to my little friend" is a wonderful gag.
