Hmmm...mix vinegar and water together and simmer in a pan until all the burned bits are soft enough to scrub off? No gently caress that let me kill myself and my cats.

He was high as hell on something, probably K2. I looked over at him like "This dude is a danger to himself..." and then less than a minute later somebody shouted, and I look back over and the loving dude was trying to get a cigarette that fell on the tracks. wow that sounds profoundly traumatic, if i were in your shoes i would run (not walk) to some kind of brain professional and talk-puke out those nasty thoughts. Here's a review of some online resources for dealing with trauma, for anyone itt who might be curious about such things.

This literally just happened a few hours ago. As far as I can tell that crane bent _backwards_. https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/mecklenburg-vorpommern/Rostock-Erneutes-Unglueck-mit-Hafenkran,hafenkran156.html Click on the video. Quick translation of the first paragraph: quote:A serious industrial accident occurred on Saturday afternoon at the Liebherr premises in Rostock's overseas port. According to the police, a heavy-duty crane mounted on a ship buckled during a heavy-duty test after a rope broke. Parts of the crane fell onto the ship and onto the quay wall. According to initial findings, five people were injured, according to a police spokeswoman. Two of them had to be treated in hospital. The police and fire brigade were on site with a large contingent. Investigations into the cause of the accident are continuing. Investigators have not yet been able to provide any information on the extent of the damage.

Well yes, they managed to throw two cranes in the harbour during loading and it took two months to get them out. Including fun hazard stuff with 10 000 L of oil and diesel that had to be pumped out first.

zedprime posted:What is the by the book response if not drive a pallet jack into it? Airports typically have shotguns for scaring off birds, you could probably clear the area and blow a tire out pretty easily, but if you do it wrong you’re just going to make it roll over into the plane. At least ramming moves it out of the way.

Crane accident reminds me of this: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20120216/downtown/wtc-crane-accident-drops-construction-material-onto-truck.amp It happened when I was working in 1 liberty plaza. When people in the article say how loud it was, they weren’t kidding. It shook my desk on the 24th floor. I no-poo poo thought someone set off a truck bomb. I can’t find any articles with photos of the truck it actually landed on but I saw it on the news back in the day, there were pieces scattered from hell to breakfast. Crane accidents are no joke.
