I just wrapped up the Haitian Revolution series of Revolutions, and from what I remember Napoleon wanted Louisiana to provide food and supplies for the Haitian sugar plantations. Toussaint might have been fine with that plan too, since he basically wanted a "fairer" plantation economy.

Funny thing about the Libertadores is that Bolívar hoards most of the fame, but you have a lot of figures with very different strategies and point of view working towards the same goals and cooperating by accident in lots of amazing and insane ways

O'Higgins leading an offensive in Chile opens a window of opportunity for Bolívar to deny the royalists a port in Maracaibo which forces the spanish colonial navy to concentrate forces there making Veracruz have no military which Mexican revolutionaries seize the city and then Toussaint L'Ouverture himself is sending cannons and officers to help Bolívar by using the French flag which conveniently also means smuggling back exiled officers from the Americas who fought in Europe through Haiti

An American company made a game called Warmachine, that was like Warhammer but explicitly designed for balanced hardcore competitive tournament play. It actually got pretty popular and had a lot of players. But the problem is that when you've got a miniatures game where you have to keep releasing new miniatures, it's very difficult to keep the game balanced. It's like if Chess got a new piece every month, how long until that becomes a mess?

So anyway Warmachine eventually got unbalanced and instantly died because the players were only playing it for hardcore competitive gameplay and gave no poo poo about the little men. Meanwhile Warhammer, which has always been explicitly about pushing little men around a tabletop and making pew pew noises, has thrived.
the only warhammer game i ever played was gorkamorka and it was fun because the point didn't seem to "win" but to experience the various mishaps for comedic purposes while drinking cheap beer. like your characters have these cobbled-together apocalypse guns that have a chance of exploding every time you fire them. it was like playing a car crash.

did anyone get mad at the chapos for endorsing a slate in the Teamster election, or did all the super unhinged posts about them being a "fash pipeline" suck up all the outrage online

there's some weird liberals that write about the labor movement that hate reform/militant movements in unions, and extra hate when socialists outside unions endorse those militants

Iirc that was we he was exiled to St. Helena. I vaguely remember he expressed similar regrets about invading Russia and Spain but I could be wrong on those. Definitely regretted the expedition to Haiti tho

i just looked it up cause my cheap leather wallet is falling apart and i'm in the market for a new wallet. It's like $75 - $125 for ~RFID 5G MINDCONTROL WAVEFORM BLOCKING MILSPEC TACTICOOL~ snuff box.

lol

plus i think a metal wallet would be annoying to carry in my back or front pocket.
