Saint Jhn was pretty cool. He did his performance from a balcony with Los Angeles behind him.

Rich the Kid was a total fuckup. He stopped after a song and a half and the came back and kept smoking up near the camera and barely did half the lines.
So when Young Thug came on and they started doing that drone shot performing on different balconies it was pretty sweet. Then offset started and his audio crapped out and they just ended the whole thing and I logged off.

"Tell that to Zod's snapped neck!"

so beyonce and Megan put out a classic example of a good remix the other day, adding some good new bars and not covering up the beat but building atop it. I wonder what a classic example of a bad remix would be? it would probably swallow up the perfectly good beat of the original song during the clearly copy/pasted in bars that are also not very good and then go back to the original song as if nothing happened

https://twitter.com/DojaCat/status/1255577940969926657?s=20

oh yep there it is right on schedule hey Nikki

edit: I don't get why people keep trying to add terrible people to Doja songs, if I'm listening to her I don't want to hear Tyga rap, I don't want to hear Nikki rap, whoever is running things right now must just be a piece of poo poo...

https://twitter.com/idolator/status/1237489920173842434?s=20

oh right. ironically, it turns out that the reason he's making her stuff is the exact same reason Kesha made an album for her rapist (the very same Dr. Luke) and Taylor Swift is currently at war with a grown-rear end man who calls himself Scooter: these artists get signed when they're 18 years old to these outrageously long contracts because on the off chance that one of them blows up you can exploit them and get a poo poo ton of money so you can go out and sign another 40 teenagers with a dream and little common sense to the exact same contracts, and the cycle continues.

Both remixes are pretty boring. Beyonce sounds like someone's mom whispering in public. As someone the same age as Beyonce, her popularity now feels forced and the love for this remix is no different.

Doja is Nicki 2.0 and its weird seeing someone as defensive as Nicki cosign her. Doja has been around for 6 years and had a hit years ago but people think she's some overnight success.

JPEGMAFIA may be my fav rapper out now (him, Quelle Chris, or billy woods) but Denzel kinda outshines him here.

Also Quelle Chris dropped another album. Not as good as Guns imo, but still really nice. Worth checking for sure.

It's not bad, but I think he kinda misses the point of Drake. He puts way too much emphasis on Drake's early catalog "talking" to people and too much on his own supposed growth. He's saying Drake's not making music for people his age which is wrong-Drake makes music for people of ALL ages. It's the same inoffensive trend-hopping stuff that he's always done. It's always been largely background music, or something you could put on in nearly any party anywhere and not have anyone upset. It's also funny he mentions Jay-Z pivoting in his early 30's when Jay-Z's career is basically a Drake blueprint. Waiting for a change seems foolish unless there's a wave of Kendrick knockoffs then Drake may pivot to some shallow-rear end J-Cole style fake-conscious stuff but dude has never operated on that level and that's never been in his DNA. He's always been a dude about making music that has the widest reach which means it's generally not that deep.
