its that 66% of cases are from people who live *in* a home. as opposed to living homeless/in a nursing home/prison

ofc it's being used to show lockdowns dont work now

the problem with this approach is that it is ahistorical. there is evidence that the 1918 pandemic hit the poor first and the second wave disproportionately impacted wealthier people because they let their guards down after sacrificing the poor to the first wave

it’s infectious disease that the American ruling class are trying to bargain with right now and it won’t work

eh, i think there will be a second wave of closures once things in individual states become as untenable as NYC. I think its optimistic to say that'll happen in May, but we'll get there by June once the new cases produce enough uptick of deaths and also, opening up shows a whole month of data that opening up isn't actually doing anything for state revenue because only some of the population is willing to patronize any business right now.

look at the polls. if the vast majority of dems, even in the chudliest of states, aren't willing to go to stores, all that poo poo is going to collapse.

regardless of policy, there is simply an extremely reduced demand. poo poo is going to get real, real soon

A protracted conflict will just be a series of individual events happening more frequently until there's no time between each one. By then half a million COVID19 deaths as the autumn 2nd wave ramps up will leave everyone scrambling to secure their individual communities in the face of a broken and absentee Federal Government, and probably 30/50 collapsed or collapsing State Governments which can't even figure out who won the Presidential election and certify a result. Libs will still be tut-tutting about civility as the chuds do victory laps and finally openly admit that elections aren't relevant anymore since they're the only party with a legitimate right to rule anyway.

With all that going on, nobody is really going to notice when they hear every night something like, "3 protesters and one counter protester were killed today in Michigan, bringing the total dead to..."

they’ll stop reporting on COVID related shooting deaths by July, just like mass shootings before

who’s up for a side bet? I’m in for 30 confirmed anti lockdown/anti mask murders in the US by May 31

i'm not saying the polling will withstand. i'm saying its all opening up, poo poo is going to get real bad for individual states, and individual states will decide to lock down more again.

current polling indicates this is hugely partisan right now, at least conceptually, and the decreased revenue, right now even in states opening up, is going to cause restaurants to fail (regardless of hard alcohol delivery options) and that's going to honestly freak out a whole bunch of people, which will cascade across other sectors

2nd wave lock downs might not be as much as we were at in April, but we're definitely going to get a dead cat bounce in lockdowns in June, and May if people are better than I think they are.

not sure where we go from there

In curable viruses and getting back to work are nothing new. My bet is on porn again leading us to our future. AIDS testing has been a thing in the industry for a while.

Seems if the roni keeps killing off meat processors before they can be replaced--we are going to have to get better testing. A "work"able solution would be personal testing that was draconianly involved with our blood, dna, and cellphones. Hate to think you'd need something like a DexComm hip attachment to be a stewardess or something. But maybe a morning finger prick. Put those 5G antenna to use and upload the relevant markers to TrumpCo for processing. Moments later you have your results and can use your phone to show your ID/roni status. Of course, when that test comes back positive the world knows and its Logan's Run time for you...

With the phones tying into contact tracing so well, it seems testing is the next step?

2400 + nearly double what we usually make because of berniebux, and we haven't paid rent in 3 months because a week before all this popped off my landlord sold the house to someone, and told me they would contact us. They never have. I have no idea who owns this house. All I know is that we are the last tenants, and they plan to knock it down to build an office building here once we leave. We weren't even technically on a lease with our old landlord, we signed a year least 4 years ago and just went month to month after that. So, I guess we don't pay rent anymore! If the owners show up asking for it we are literally just going to say no and move to Utah (some friends just moved there)

it's a weird situation

plus I've still been making decent enough sales on buttons and now magnets, so actually, covid 19 has been very kind to me.
