They've already had stories talking about how as Bruce Wayne he puts tons of money into improving the city and giving to charity. It's just that he also lives in a world where maniacs with unlimited money and/or superpowers keep trying to destroy the entire city every month or two, and he has to prioritize.

As Bruce Wayne he battles poverty and recognizes that he has advantages and Gotham won't be safe until the people are no longer impoverished and oppressed while as Batman he punches the giant guy made of clay. It's just that unfortunately 'batman beats up a bunch of criminals' is a convenient shorthand for writers to show a scene so you have Billionaire Man crippling people.

Yeah, Batman is kinda played out. There's nothing particularly interesting about him anymore. I guess you could say that about superheroes in general, but I'm still looking forward to WandaVision.
