So, as I’m in the middle of running the Tag Team Turmoil matches, let’s talk about the mechanics for tag team matches in Wrestling Spirit 3. First things first, tornado tag mechanics are not in the game. So Hardcore Tag matches are essentially “You can use weapons, no DQ, falls count anywhere, but you still have to tag in and out.” Otherwise you’d be drat sure I’d use tornado tag mechanics somewhere in this tournament—I’m a sucker for a good Tornado Tag match. There are numerous variants of tag team matches in WS3: 2 vs 2 Matches Standard, Hardcore, Tables, 2/3 Falls, 2/3 Falls Hardcore, Iron Man, First Blood, Submission, Ultimate Submission, European, European Hardcore 3 vs 3 Matches Standard, Hardcore, Tables, 2/3 Falls, 2/3 Falls Hardcore, Iron Man, Lucha Rules, Lucha Rules Hardcore, Elimination, Submission, Ultimate Submission, European, European Hardcore (Lucha Rules in WS3 are 2/3 falls bouts, but pinning/submitting the captain of a team automatically ends the match.) 4 vs 4 and 5 v 5 Matches Standard, Hardcore, Tables, 2/3 Falls, 2/3 Falls Hardcore, Iron Man, Elimination, Submission, Ultimate Submission, European, European Hardcore There are also Handicap matches in WS3, which come in standard and hardcore varieties of the following: 1 vs 2 1 vs 3 2 vs 3 2 vs 4 3 vs 4 There are five other types of multi-person matches in WS3. Winner Stays On comes in 3 vs 3, 4 vs 4, and 5 vs 5 flavors. This starts with two competitors, one per side. There is no tagging; eliminations are all your standard rules. When eliminated, the next person on the team takes the eliminated person’s place; last team standing wins. Damage and stamina drain carries over from previous parts in the match. Generation X comes in 1 vs 3 and 1 vs 4 versions, and works similarly to Winner Stays On except that it’s one person against a team. This is the closest WS3 has to a Gauntlet Match. Now that we’ve established what kind of matches there are, let’s talk some mechanics. I’ll start with Teams. In WS3, established teams have a Teamwork rating, which like most things in WS3 ranges from 0 to 1000. The higher this number, the more “Tag Team Points” the team gets. These are used to make saves on pins/submissions, make tags easier, and so forth. In the single-player mode, you gain these by, obviously, teaming with the same person over and over. Specific Teams also have a Tag Moveset, which are various double-team moves you’d see at pro wrestling events the world over. A Tag move can only be used in the action immediately following a tag. Like a standard moveset, each move in a Tag moveset has a level to indicate how damaged the opponent has to be in order to use the move. Generally, two singles wrestlers will not have a Tag move list together unless they teamed back in their distant past. (All of RRW’s tag matches, at least for this season, have Teamwork at 0 for everyone so no Tag moves or Tag Team Points will be present in this event. If the same teams hook up in season two, then maybe….) The non-legal participants slowly recover stamina and health while on the apron. To counter this and prevent every match from being a 90-minute slog, Low-level moves (basic strikes and such) deal more damage. In most other multi-person matches (so basically anything from 3 vs 3 and higher), Low and Medium moves have this boosted damage. (Note: Only the 3 vs 4 Handicap match has this noted from the main match selection screen; all other Handicap matches do not have any notice of Low moves being boosted.) Because these are tag matches, there’s obviously a “tag out” action, similar to the Irish Whip or Climb Turnbuckles general actions. The success chance of this by default is 70% (700 out of 1000), and is affected by momentum, if the opponent is stunned, if they’re down on the mat, and so forth. Naturally, an attempt made when the opponent has been stunned and dropped to the mat will succeed easier than just simply walking to the corner for the tag. There are Traits that can also alter this chance or make it more or less likely that the AI will attempt to make a tag depending on how the match is currently going for them. There are “hot tags” in this engine, too. If the opponent is near Full momentum and you’re near Empty, and manage to get a tag off, your partner will come in with Full momentum right off the bat. Whether that gets put to good use is another matter altogether, as the opponent will still have the high momentum. This gives your partner a fighting chance to make a comeback and turn the match in your favor. For those of you who have managers—the manager can only interfere when you are in the ring. If your partner is legal and has no manager, you can’t send yours to help them. Just like there are flash events in singles matches (the ref overturning a decision, making a slightly fast count, etc.), there are some specifically for tag matches. One of the classic spots, the “ref doesn’t see the tag and the person is forced to stay in the ring” bit, is in the engine and occurs at least once in the opening round. As an aside—I’ve had a 5 vs 5 Elimination match run almost 2 hours in-game time before, and most of these 2/3 falls run upwards of 30 minutes. They’re lengthy to a fault, and wouldn’t make much sense for a single on-air broadcast because you’re looking at 7.5 hours before even reaching the finals, which is an hour long. So for these next couple of posts, a little suspension of belief will have to occur to make this fit into something that could pass for actual television programming (or the author just hand-waves it away as three consecutive nights of broadcasting with the opening round on Night 1, the quarter- and semifinals on Night 2, and the Iron Man final match on night 3). The event is likely to run into a second post, and maybe a third depending on how large the finals are. But matches are being done now and we should be on schedule for it to be posted early next week barring complications.

This is the opening round of Tag Team Turmoil only. I'm working at the end of the second round now--work has been driving me nuts trying to play non-IT tech support this whole weekend and the last two days and this is as much as I've managed to get done so far. (Working from home has its upsides...this sadly wasn't one of them.) The plan is to have the last seven matches posted tomorrow, possibly in two posts (as this one alone takes up around half the allotted character limit, and the play-by-play for the Iron Man finals is about 40% of a post by itself before factoring in commentary breaks and the like). =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ROWDY RINGSPORTS WRESTLING: SEASON ONE TAG TEAM TURMOIL Live from an empty RRW Arena in Kansas City, Missouri!   Yoshii Nakamatsu/Daniel Simmons vs. Erick Gibson/The Mastodon   The opening contest of Tag Team Turmoil pitted a team formed out of respect in Nakamatsu and Simmons against a team randomly formed in Gibson and Mastodon. It was the two Green Division wrestlers starting things off, and the opening three minutes was not as much of a feeling-out process as it was trying to learn how each team would work among themselves. The first tag came at just over three minutes into the contest, as Simmons tagged out to slow the momentum of Gibson a bit and let Nakamatsu into the contest. Not even a minute later, Karen McClure made her presence known as she tripped Nakamatsu up, preventing a running forearm and giving Gibson the chance he needed to tag in Mastodon. Yoshii managed to avoid some of the powerful strikes of Mastodon over the next few minutes, but eventually managed to tag Simmons back in at the nine-minute mark. The next few minutes were all Daniel Simmons, who laid into The Mastodon with a variety of blows and holds, but going for the Working Man’s dropkick proved to be a mistake as Mastodon crotched Simmons, chucked him off the ropes, and made a hot tag to Gibson…who proceeded to waste the opportunity by missing an elbow drop and then eating two minutes’ worth of offense himself. Simmons and Nakamatsu seemed to be in the driver’s seat in this one at this point, but Simmons’ decision to not go for a cover after a piledriver, and instead pick Gibson back up, led to Mastodon being tagged in. He couldn’t keep the momentum going for long, though, and soon Nakamatsu was the legal man for his team and was in firm control. Some non-inspired back and forth followed for the next few minutes, and the first fall of Tag Team Turmoil went to The Mastodon, who stunned Simmons with a powerbomb held into a pinning predicament at 24:10 into the match. I say stunned because less than a minute later, Simmons had made the fall back up on his own with a Blue Collar Driver on Mastodon, aided by a slightly fast count from the official. At twenty-five minutes in, the match was tied at a fall apiece. Simmons felt he had the momentum with him, choosing to stay in the ring instead of bringing in the slightly fresher Nakamatsu. It’d be the last mistake he would make on this night, as Mastodon took control soon after the match resumed, delivered a Rampage, and stared down Nakamatsu as the ref counted to three. Mastodon and Gibson advance. The Mastodon & Erick Gibson def. Daniel Simmons and Yoshii Nakamatsu, two falls to one, in 26:49. Rating: *** Fall 1: Mastodon pinned Simmons with a Powerbomb Pin at 24:10 Fall 2: Simmons pinned Mastodon with a Blue Collar Driver at 25:01 Fall 3: Mastodon pinned Simmons with a Rampage at 26:49  Eugene Nagata/Lord Robert Abernathy vs. Hailey Carmichael/Jack “Classic” Braddock   The Fates are not without a sense of humor, as random chance dictated that three out of the four goon characters in RRW would meet in the second match of Tag Team Turmoil. Nagata and Carmichael started the match, and in a change of pace, Nagata actually controlled the opening minutes of the bout, getting two minutes of uninterrupted offense in before Hailey finally managed to get some of her grappling ability into play…only to turn tail and flee to her corner as soon as she could to tag in Braddock, the would-be enforcer of the team. Three minutes of offense later, Nagata found a break in the action and tagged in Abernathy. Several minutes of back-and-forth striking followed, with Lord Abernathy maintaining a slight advantage until Braddock could tag Hailey back in. If there were fans in the arena, this is what they would have been waiting to see—a British Lord and the daughter of a Duke squaring off with nary an Earl or Baron in sight. On this exchange, at least, youth bested experience as Hailey got off several shots to Abernathy’s one, and at one point even had the VSCOverleaf applied (though no one expected it to finish the match, just to inflict pain and damage). Bigger shots were exchanged soon after, including Abernathy hitting a flawless belly-to-belly suplex before tagging in Nagata to keep up the pressure on his fellow countrywoman. Eugene would hit a number of strikes and a Nagata Special, but taunted too close to Hailey right afterwards. She surprised Nagata by going between the legs and hitting the tag to Braddock. While not a “hot tag” as many may consider it, Braddock still managed to put Nagata on the defensive for a minute, including hitting a Spinning Backfast, before Nagata managed to tag in Abernathy. Nothing of importance happened in the following few minutes, and the next noteworthy moment was Nagata catching Hailey with a Nagata Special and Nagata Knockout back to back, busting Hailey open, and getting a pin on her just shy of a half hour into the match. A minute after the match restarted, Carmichael hit a low blow on Nagata, scrambled to the corner, and tagged in Braddock. A minute after that, Braddock had evened the match at a fall apiece following a Jack Attack on Nagata. The final fall lasted two and a half minutes, and came after Nagata tagged out to Abernathy. His Lordship managed a few offensive strikes, whiffed on a chop block, and fell victim to a Jack Attack. Braddock wins two straight falls for his team to send them to the quarterfinals. Jack “Classic” Braddock & Hailey Carmichael def. Eugene Nagata and Lord Robert Abernathy, two falls to one, in 34:29. Rating: *** Fall 1: Nagata pinned Hailey with a Nagata Knockout a 29:38 Fall 2: Braddock pinned Nagata with a Jack Attack at 31:56 Fall 3: Braddock pinned Abernathy with a Jack Attack at 34:29   El Tornado/Blood River vs. Brandy McDonald/Pulsar   In a match full of masked men, it was River and Pulsar who started, though by the fourth minute Tornado and McDonald were in the match. Brandy seemed overwhelmed in the opening minutes, getting in very limited offense against Tornado while taking a lot of moves herself. Pulsar essentially found himself in a handicap match, though Tornado was reluctant to tag in River. Despite this, Pulsar managed to hold his own long enough for Brandy to recover a bit on the apron before tagging her back into the match. River tagged himself out a few seconds later, and soon Brandy was in desperation mode, defending against River’s best shots. A spear was countered by her into a drop toe hold, and she managed to thwart a top rope diving headbutt before tagging Pulsar back in at fifteen minutes into the contest. Pulsar managed to drop a knee just right to start a trickle of blood seeping through the left eye hole of River’s mask, and the two luchadors traded moves back and forth for another couple of minutes after that. The tide shifted in River’s favor at nineteen minutes in, when The Acolyte got himself ejected from ringside after tripping up Pulsar. This allowed River to make the hot tag to Tornado, who did not squander the opportunity. Three minutes of uninterrupted offense later, Tornado had put his team up one-nil thanks to a Tornado Splash…or did for all of two seconds before the referee saw Pulsar’s foot on the ropes and waved off the pin. Barely forth seconds later, Tornado made sure Pulsar was away from the ropes and this time the pin stood up. Tornado looked to press the advantage after the match resumed, but Pulsar managed to fight his way through the renewed offensive onslaught long enough to get the tag to McDonald, who wasn’t in the best of shape after the opening parts of this match. She still tried to connect with Brandy With a Twist on two occasions, only to be foiled each time. Tornado finally managed to tag out to River, who nearly had the win twice. First, it was off a diving headbutt that some argue should have ended it if not for the ref being out of position and that extra little bit saving Brandy. The second came off a spear, but there was no question McDonald managed to escape on her own merits that time. A few seconds later, she managed to tag out to Pulsar which at this point was almost a desperation move with how much damage both McDonald and Pulsar had taken during the match. That didn’t stop Pulsar from tying the match up at one fall apiece however, courtesy of a Zodiac Implosion on River. Pulsar would try to get River in position for another Zodiac Implosion, but River finally got a tag to Tornado. From that point, Tornado would not lose the offensive the rest of the match, and Pulsar finally fell to another Tornado Splash, the third of the match he’d suffered, to send Tornado and River into the quarterfinals. El Tornado & Blood River def. Pulsar and Brandy McDonald, two falls to one, in 38:50. Rating: *** Fall 1: Tornado pinned Pulsar with a Tornado Splash at 22:09 Fall 2: Pulsar pinned River with a Zodiac Implosion at 33:08 Fall 3: Tornado pinned Pulsar with a Tornado Splash at 38:50   Billy Norris/Jun Onoo vs. Jimmy Anarchy/Brian Blackfield   If the previous matches were considered the normal for tag bouts in RRW, this stood out as an anomaly in that it lasted about as long as a standard singles match in RRW does. This was a largely one-sided affair, and no real interesting spots happened in the match. The first fall happened nine minutes in, with Blackfield eating a Down Under Disaster. Norris hit a second Down Under Disaster a few seconds later, but this one Blackfield no-sold with an adrenaline rush that amounted to a lot of nothing before tagging in Jimmy Anarchy. Norris would tag in Onoo, who had been sitting on the apron since tagging out at the three-minute mark. It’d only take Onoo two more minutes to submit Anarchy with the Lasting Agony bearhug, and in record time we had our fourth pair of quarterfinalists. Billy Norris & Jun Onoo def. Jimmy Anarchy & Brian Blackfield, two falls to zero, in 17:35. Rating: ** Fall 1: Norris pinned Blackfield with a Down Under Disaster at 9:16 Fall 2: Onoo submitted Anarchy with a Lasting Agony at 17:35   Diego Rodriguez/The Siberian Nightmare vs. Sin/Jean-Paul Ouilette   The second half of the opening round started with a match that was more a war of attrition than anything else. Rodriguez and Ouilette started the match, with Rodriguez forcing the early tag from Ouilette to Sin after gaining a decided advantage with his technical grappling. Sin didn’t fare much better for the first minute or two after entering the match, only managing to get on the offensive after avoiding a stomp from Rodriguez. Nightmare entered the match seven minutes into it, and after taking some of Sin’s offense to figure her out, so to speak, he brought his power game into play, quickly causing Sin to get away and tag Ouilette back into the match. This might have played into the plans of Rodriguez and Nightmare, as the former tagged in quickly thereafter, except that Ouilette was ready for Diego and pressed the attack for a couple of minutes afterward. Flustered, Rodriguez tagged back out, and Nightmare fared no better for the next minute or two. It wasn’t until Nightmare absorbed an open-handed chop and hit a few stronger moves that knocked Ouilette down repeatedly that the Frenchman made the tag to Sin, putting her at a distinct size and power advantage. That didn’t stop her from hitting a Cast the Stone on Nightmare, who by sheer luck landed close enough to his corner that Sin was too cautious to press the advantage. Rodriguez got tagged in soon after, Ouilette tagged in for his side almost immediately after that, and the two went back and forth in the most evenly-contested part of the bout so far. So the first fall of match going to Jean-Paul Ouilette at twenty-four minutes and change into the bout came as a minor shock, given how even that segment had been to that point. Admittedly, Ouilette used a less dramatic version of Le Petit Mort but it still was effective enough to score the pin. It would take another twenty minutes before the second pinfall would happen. It would have taken far less time, but barely thirty seconds after the first fall happened, the ref got caught in the corner after a reversed Irish whip sent Ouilette flying into him. During the time the ref was down, Roriguez had managed to lock in the Harmony of Dissonance, and Ouilette tapped out wildly with no official there to call for the submission. As if that wasn’t enough, Nightmare would soon after deliver a Siberian Avalanche, and get the pin, only for the still groggy official to wave it off due to missing Ouilette’s left foot on the bottom rope. By this point, both Nightmare and Rodriguez thought the official had it in for them, or was somehow in the pocket of Sin and Ouilette, and it left them on tilt the rest of the match. While they would get some offense in, it was predominantly Sin and Ouilette in control. Sin would hit Cast the Stone a few times, but could never seem to pull off Depravity. In the end, it was Ouilette who would earn the second fall, delivering Le Petit Mort to Nightmare and securing what some would have to consider an upset to move on in the tournament. Jean-Paul Ouilette & Sin def. Diego Rodriguez & The Siberian Nightmare, two falls to zero, in 43:34. Rating: ** Fall 1: Ouilette pinned Rodriguez with a Le Petit Mort at 24:40 Fall 2: Ouilette pinned Nightmare with a Le Petit Mort at 43:34   Otto von Schwarz/Diamond Steel vs. Glenn Knight/Markus Clay  Where all of the other matches usually involved all four members of the match having been legal inside of four minutes into the contest, this was the exception so far as Knight stayed in for nearly nine minutes before tagging out to Clay. In that time, Steel tagged in von Schwarz who later tagged Steel back in. So to say that Knight controlled the opening part of this match would be an understatement. Clay managed to waste a lot of the advantage he had been given, though, as Steel took to the offensive and kept the normally fast-moving Clay off his feet with strong blows. Once Clay managed to get Knight back into the match, it was like a switch was flipped, as Glenn put both Steel and later von Schwartz on their back feet. After Knight hit von Schwarz with a Think Fast!, Clay tagged himself in (much to Knight’s chagrin) and scored the first fall for his team after luring von Schwarz in and then hitting a low blow. The second fall happened only four minutes later, as Knight made sure to stay away from his corner and delivered The Promise to Steel to send his team on to the next round, as the two men had a heated discussion on their way back up the ramp and into the locker room. Glenn Knight & Markus Clay def. Otto von Schwarz and Diamond Steel, two falls to zero, in 22:50. Rating: ** Fall 1: Clay pinned von Schwarz with a Begging Off Low Blow at 18:32 Fall 2: Glenn pinned Steel with The Promise at 22:50   Sterling Silver/Indigo Rose vs. Sven Ulafsson/Vladimir Chavinski   On paper, this shouldn’t have been close. Silver and Rose combined weighed just as much as Chavinski by himself…never mind the even larger Ulafsson. However, as the saying goes, matches aren’t held on paper—they’re held within those tiny TV boxes. This match was surprisingly competitive for the opening dozen minutes or so, with frequent tags between the women to try to wear the larger men out. Ulafsson came into the match after Chavinski all but literally fled the ring to avoid being dropped on his head by Indigo Rose, and for about a minute managed to keep the Italian at bay. Then she managed to tag in Silver, and things went downhill quickly for Ulafsson. He’d only manage roughly a minute of offense in the following nine minutes, but would show a little fight left in him by kicking out of On Wings of Silver at two and a half. The second one that followed shortly thereafter netted a three, putting Silver and Rose up a fall. On the match restart, Ulafsson finally got some offense in, but still had to take until Silver missed a senton before he could tag in Chavinski. Vladimir put his size and power advantage to quick use by peppering Silver with jabs and a few straight lefts. If he had stuck to the strikes, he might have gotten the fall with some solid ground and pound action. However, Chavinski went for a piledriver, which Silver managed to escape from and tag in Rose. It only took Rose two minutes to tie Chavinski up in the Vite d’Indaco, and just like that, Silver and Rose advanced to the quarterfinals. Indigo Rose & Sterling Silver def. Sven Ulafsson & Vladimir Chavinski, two falls to zero, in 29:21. Rating: ** Fall 1: Silver pinned Ulafsson with On Wings of Silver at 22:56 Fall 2: Rose submitted Chavinski with Vite d’Indaco at 29:21   Lance Heartilly/Terrance Stevens vs. Rev. Johnny Gross/Elyssa Anderson   Heartilly and Anderson started this match, and from the jump it was clear that Elyssa was not mentally prepared for this contest. Heartilly controlled the first two r three minutes, and he also got a slight assist from Stevens as the latter distracted the referee, forcing the official to miss the tag between Anderson and Gross (which was not the first tag that official had missed on the night, to be honest). A minute later, after Anderson moved out of the way of an elbow drop, she all but dragged the official to the corner to make sure he could see the tag to Gross this time. The following six minutes between Gross and Stevens played out like many of the matches in RRW to date—one person gets a few moves in, the opponent gets a few in of his own, rinse and repeat. The first fall came with such suddenness that Heartilly didn’t even have time to break up the pin, as Gross found himself between Stevens and Heartilly, standing on the apron. Gross tried to beg off, pleading mercy, but as Stevens stepped forward Gross went low, and amidst the referee’s yelling, Gross dropped into the lateral press and got the first fall at just over ten minutes into the bout. Heartilly would tag in soon after, as would Anderson (albeit with some reluctance). Elyssa would manage a few moves while in the ring, but largely for the six or seven minutes she was in the ring it was the Lance Heartilly show. When Elyssa final managed to tag out (after slipping free of a stump piledriver), Heartlly and Gross proceeded to put on a ten-minute clinic of holds and strikes, several near-finishers, and close pinfalls. Neither man got the advantage between their wrestling, but Heartilly might have gotten an inadvertent one when he accidentally hit Elyssa’s leg when trying to get to his feet, and the referee considered it a tag. Heartilly pressed this new-found advantage, nearly getting a submission through his Arm Breaker hold and a belly-to-belly suplex that was all impact. He could not manage to cinch in the Hellacious Leglock, though, which bought Elyssa just enough time to go to the eyes and scramble to her corner to tag in Gross once again. Gross would give Anderson about two minutes to recover before tagging her back in to try to slow down Heartilly’s momentum and avoid a Hellacious Leglock himself. As Elyssa got back in the ring, she was met by Heartilly who went to whip her into a neutral corner off a reversal. The problem was, there was a referee in the way. Seeing the ref drop seemed to give Elyssa some energy, if only for a moment. She dropped Heartilly with a DDT, hit a middle rope elbow drop, a legdrop to the groin, and an Andersault in quick fashion. It seemed that maybe her head was finally in the match and she could be more than a punching bag…until she missed a follow-up Andersault. Heartilly followed with a few strikes before managing to successfully apply the Hellacious Leglock, and held it for nearly a full minute while Stevens kept Gross distracted. With no referee to see Elyssa pounding the mat in submission, the visual fall did Lance no good, and so Heartilly finally broke the hold to lay out Anderson with a stump piledriver. Noting the referee just starting to come back around, Lance went the Hellacious Leglock once again but this time Elyssa managed to fight him off. An eye poke and a dropkick to Lance’s knee (that may have hurt Anderson more in the end) she managed to get Gross back into the contest. She was still trying to get the circulation back in her leg as Heartilly avoided a Come to Jesus, hit a swinging neckbreaker, and put Gross in the Hellacious Leglock to score a tap out that the official could see, at just under forty minutes deep in the contest. After such a long span between the first two falls, the third came almost immediately. Heartilly, who had not tagged out and had been in the match for nearly a half hour straight at this point, had a neckbreaker countered by a right hand from Gross, who followed it up with a hip toss, and quickly locked in his patented submission finisher. Stevens looked like he was going to come in to break up the submission, but instead he just dropped to the floor and turned away from the ring. Apparently being outside the match (legally) for three-quarters of the bout was too much for his ego to stand. He walked away from the ring, never seeing Heartilly finally, wearily, tap out to Gross’s Come to Jesus to end the first round of competition. Rev. Johnny Gross & Elyssa Anderson def. Lance Heartilly & Terrance Stevens, two falls to one, in 41:03. Rating: **** Fall 1: Gross pinned Stevens with a Begging Off Low Blow at 10:24 Fall 2: Heartilly submitted Gross with a Hellacious Leglock at 39:30 Fall 3: Gross submitted Heartilly with a Come to Jesus at 41:03

Also I'm picturing the end of the match like when the New Day initially turned heel, where Kofi suddenly realized "oh wow cheating is a thing I can do" and had the most wonderful look of realization on his face. About to start on the finals. Work, once again, is ruining my time to do Internet comedy forum stuff. In the meantime, though, since the final is large enough to require its own post, have the second and third rounds to tide you over until then! (I will have the finals up within the next two hours barring technological troubles.) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ROWDY RINGSPORTS WRESTLING: SEASON ONE TAG TEAM TURMOIL, NIGHT TWO Live from an empty RRW Arena in Kansas City, Missouri! The RRW Moderators, after the opening round matches ran a total of four hours, decided that the second and third rounds would air the following night on television, thanks to a sweetheart deal they had with the network. It probably also explains why they can keep operating when drat near everything else is shut down, but the author digresses…. The Mastodon/Erick Gibson vs. Hailey Carmichael/Jack “Classic” Braddock Mastodon signaled that he wanted to start the match for his side. On the opposing side, Hailey gestured for Braddock to get out of the ring; she wanted to make the larger man kneel before her. To her credit, she did a good job at isolating the larger man on her half of the ring, impressively getting Mastodon into the VSCOverleaf at one point. Eventually, though, Mastodon would use his size and force his way to the corner and tag in Gibson. Hailey wasted no time in immediately tagging in Braddock to “handle my light work,” as she said while stepping out on the apron. Braddock would do exactly that, letting Gibson get in a few blows to bolster his confidence and leave himself open to the inevitable mistake. Once it came, Braddock pounced on it without mercy, spending close to four minutes pummeling Gibson without letting up. It was almost dumb luck that Gibson ducked under a spinning backfist and made the hot tag to Mastodon…which went mostly for naught as Braddock starting pummeling Mastodon as well. Not long after, Braddock hit a Jack Attack, which only served to wake Mastodon up as the adrenaline rush hit. …That Mastodon squandered by tagging out to Gibson before the rush even ended. Moments later, Hailey tagged herself into the match, and a few minutes of action happened in which neither wrestler could claim a clear-cut advantage. Hailey “blinked” first, tagging out to Braddock, and Jack managed several good shots and a spinning backfist before having his Jack Attack combo broken by way of a forearm shot to the face. Gibson retreated quickly to tag in Mastodon, knowing how close he was to losing the first fall for his team. Instead, it was Mastodon who ate a Jack Attack a minute after getting into the ring, and eating the pinfall. Braddock would continue the punishment for another two minutes before tagging in Carmichael, who hit a stomp flurry and then the #NoFilter in rapid succession to score the submission and send the Duchy of Clarence on to the semifinals. Hailey Carmichael & Jack “Classic” Braddock def. The Mastodon and Erick Gibson, two falls to zero, in 26:02. Rating: ** Fall 1: Braddock pinned Mastodon with a Jack Attack at 23:54 Fall 2: Carmichael submitted Mastodon with a #NoFilter at 26:02 El Tornado/Blood River vs. Billy Norris/Jun Onoo There would be no repeat of the first round here—Norris and Onoo would have to earn their victory tonight as River and Tornado came in ready to fight. Onoo and Tornado started this match, and Onoo used his sheer size advantage to good use, absorbing a number of shots from Tornado and retaliating with a few of his own that did more damage to the smaller luchador. Onoo would go for a leaping elbow drop, but miss, and Tornado would make a suddenly hot tag to River just four minutes into the contest. River would go on a two-minute tear, pummeling Onoo enough to actually drop the big man. But when River got cocky and decided to taunt Onoo, the big man shoved River aside and made his own hot tag to Norris. Norris wouldn’t have as much of a run as River did, but still got in several shots to level the momentum before falling into the classic back-and-forth that RRW had become known for. This continued for several more minutes until River finally tagged out to take a breather. Tornado would only have minimal success against Norris until Onoo was tagged in right around the time that their last match would have ended. Against the larger man, Tornado would have some success, but still not manage to get any significant advantage to threaten Onoo with a chance at a finisher. It would be Blood River, who tagged in soon after, who would literally draw first blood of the night with The Sacrifice. He was too impatient to wait to attempt The Offering, though, and instead continued the offensive with assorted strikes and blows. An attempt at a top rope diving headbutt, though, was too much as Onoo shook the ropes to unbalance River. The big man went for the tag, only for the ref to miss it thanks to The Acolyte climbing on the apron to draw the official’s attention for that crucial two seconds. It would be largely inconsequential though, as Onoo managed to make the tag in sight of the official thirty seconds later. Norris would proceed to drop River with a Boomerang DDT, but miss the follow-up Down Under Disaster and be forced to escape a roll-up at two and a half. Incensed, Norris would control the next couple of minutes, not letting River have a chance to get back into the match. As Norris went for a spear, though, River leapfrogged it and jumped towards his corner, just barely reaching the hand of Tornado for the hot tag. Tornado hit a few moves, topped off by the segadora, and then inexplicably tagged River back in while Norris was on the outside. River would hit a baseball slide and go out of the ring to fight, feeling comfortable outside the ropes, but paid for his hubris by eating a Boomerang DDT on the mats outside. River would get thrown into the ring, get caught in another Boomerang DDT, and then be hit with the Down Under Disaster kick. And he still kicked out at two. This threw Norris off his game a bit, as he tagged out to Onoo, thinking the big man might have better luck. But River got out of an IMPACT Driver and made yet another hot tag to Tornado. This time Tornado would not waste the opportunity, and less than a minute later, Tornado had his team up one-nil thanks to a Tornado Splash. The splash must have seriously winded Onoo, as he fell victim to a DDT and another Tornado Splash within a minute, and that suddenly the two masked men had advanced to the semifinals in a grueling bout. El Tornado & Blood River def. Jun Onoo & Billy Norris, two falls to zero, in 30:31. Rating: **** Fall 1: Tornado pinned Onoo with a Tornado Splash at 29:51 Fall 2: Tornado pinned Onoo with a Tornado Splash at 30:31 Sin/Jean-Paul Ouilette vs. Glenn Knight/Markus Clay At the end of their last match, Knight and Clay were having words as they headed back to the locker room. Could they put that difference behind them to advance further, or would Sin and Ouilette pull off a second, possibly greater upset? From the opening sequence, it seemed like Glenn had picked up right where he left off the previous night, forcing Ouilette to tag Sin just ninety seconds into the contest. Sin had some better luck against Knight, but was still on the defensive for longer than she would have liked. Her biggest spurt of offense ended by getting a whip reversed and eating a clothesline, allowing Glenn to make the tag. Markus Clay came into the match and quickly had to shift into defense mode as Sin maneuvered him into a neutral corner and laid into him with various blows, just barely retreating out of the corner after each one to keep the referee satisfied. A clothesline attempt would go awry, opening up Sin to a lengthy offensive string from Clay, capped off with a middle rope forearm drop and standing on Sin’s back to choke her against the ropes. He took too long to hit a stump piledriver, though, and Sin made the hot tag to Ouilette. Ouilette, to the surprise of just about everyone watching, would proceed to hold his own against Clay and later Glenn for the better part of five minutes, staying on offense and not letting Glenn get in a rhythm to unleash his striking arsenal. The opening Glenn needed came when Ouilette tried to be cheeky and go for a low blow, that Knight countered with a simple slap to the chest. Knight would be in control for a bit, even as Ouilette managed to bring Sin back into the match. Glenn would concede the tag to Clay, who hit a Boarding Call and a Johannesburg Express in quick succession on Sin to earn the first fall of the match. Clay would look to finish things in the second fall, but Sin was having none of it, blocking a piledriver, a DDT, and chopping Clay out of a spear attempt to stun him long enough to bring Ouilette back into the match. Ouilette had the offense for a bit, but Clay eventually took to the air again, looking for a second Johannesburg Express to end the match. He would miss as Ouilette got the hell out of the way, but a mid-air adjustment allowed Clay to land a little softer and kick out of the ensuing pin attempt at one. Wasting no further time, Ouilette tagged Sin back in, and when Clay saw this, he went to the attack as Sin tried to back off into a neutral corner. This was, naturally, a trap. Sin went low, yelled at the ref to count, and scored a three-count with a cheap shot. The third fall was more of the same, with the ref not allowing a Markus Clay tag (Ouilette drew the ref away), Sin fighting as hard as she could to keep Knight out of the match, and quickly getting out of the ring when Knight did become legal. Ouilette and Knight would wrestle to a stalemate, giving Sin a few minutes to try to recover before Ouilette brought her back into the match. For a moment, Sin might have had a chance to end it, hooking up Knight for Depravity, but Glenn would escape twice and tag in Clay. Clay hit a DDT on Sin, which busted her open, and a seated running dropkick quickly exacerbated matters. He wouldn’t focus on the head to try to force a blood stoppage, but instead tried to keep her down long enough to hit another Johannesburg Express. Sin would stubbornly refuse to stay down, and make the hot tag to Ouilette. Ouilette’s momentum lasted all of twenty seconds. Clay ducked a clothesline, rolled to his corner to tag in Knight, and Glenn would not let Ouilette get in another offensive move. Barely a minute after getting into the ring, Knight hit The Promise, and it seemed like he and Clay had their issues behind them as they punched (pun not intended) their ticket into the semifinals. Glenn Knight & Markus Clay def. Jean-Paul Ouilette & Sin, two falls to one, in 39:08. Rating: ** Fall 1: Clay pinned Sin with a Johannesburg Express at 18:58 Fall 2: Sin pinned Clay with a Begging Off Low Blow at 25:44 Fall 3: Knight pinned Ouilette with The Promise at 39:08 Indigo Rose/Sterling Silver vs. Reverend Johnny Gross/Elyssa Anderson Each match in the round had gone longer than the previous match, and this was the final match of the quarterfinals. Would this one continue the trend and last longer? Spoilers: Yes. It would by quite the margin. Gross and Silver started this match, and went back and forth for a few minutes before Gross got the advantage. He would make it a point throughout the match to try to pull of Silver’s mask, claiming in his pulpit voice that only sinners would hide their faces before a man of the Lord. A missed hot shot let Silver back in the match—she managed to land just short of the ropes—and a clothesline off a reversed Irish whip let Rose into the match to try to slow the pace and force Gross to fight a more technical match. Naturally, the good Reverend was having none of that and tagged out to Anderson. A stalemate followed for a bit, as Rose neutralized Anderson’s speed while Elyssa threw enough strikes to stay out of Rose’s grappling offense. Elyssa got surprised by a neckbreaker from Rose, followed by a flurry of stomps, and went to the eyes to get a moment to think. An arm drag followed, and Anderson tagged out to Gross. With Rose slightly stunned, Gross took a page out of her playbook and utilized a few rest holds and minimal strikes to maintain control for the next minute or so. There was a moment where Rose looked ready to make a comeback, shifting her weight to stop a back suplex by falling on top of Gross, but the hope was quickly snuffed out as Gross retaliated with a stump piledriver and a DDT. He tried to lock in Come to Jesus, but Rose sensed it coming and stopped the attempt before it could even really get started. A couple of holds later, she tagged out to Silver. Gross might have gotten lucky or was just playing possum, it was hard to tell, as he hit Silver with an immediate DDT and piledriver, working on the head of Silver that has been a target in the later stages of her career. He took too long to follow with an elbow drop, and Silver picked up the pace, running sentons and dropkicks coming one after another. Gross would get the occasional strike in over the next few minutes, but Silver largely maintained control, capping everything off with On Wings of Silver to end over seven minutes of fast-paced offense with the first fall of the match. At twenty-seven minutes into the match, Silver had her team one fall away from an improbable spot in the semifinals. Not even thirty seconds later, she was poised to hit another On Wings of Silver, but this time Gross forced her off-balance by getting to the ropes. She turned it into a middle-rope dropkick, and would use the turnbuckles a few more times to soften Gross up some more. But Gross would again stop On Wings of Silver, forcing Sterling to keep using different moves. A couple minutes later, Silver would look for a third time this fall for On Wings of Silver, but this time Gross got the knees up to counter, and rolled Silver into a quick lateral press, hooking both legs to steal the second fall at just past a half-hour into the match. Silver seemed to lose a step after landing on the knees of the Reverend, but she still tried to outpace him with her lucha offense. Succeeding for the most part, Silver would hit a roadblock when Gross rolled to the side to avoid a seated dropkick, allowing Elyssa Anderson to re-enter the match after a lengthy spell on the apron. Sensing disaster looming, Silver escaped a diving reverse DDT and tagged in Rose so she could fully shake off the effects of the knees to her gut that led to the second fall of the match. Anderson would utilize her striking, going fast-paced for a moment to hit an Andersault and a running senton before pulling Rose back up, a sick smie on her face before dropping her with a DDT. Anderson went to the middle turnbuckle, looking for a fist drop, but Rose got out of the way and tagged in Silver. Silver would match pace with Anderson, hitting a senton and a knee drop before gesturing that maybe she was going to end the match from the top rope. Anderson charged this and dropped Silver with a running forearm, followed with a knee drop and another Andersault, but got too greedy in trying to damage Silver as the luchadora broke free from a piledriver attempt and tagged Rose back in. Rose would hit Blood From a Rose, got a short two count from it, and drop Elyssa again with a spinning arm breaker, looking to transition from that into the Vite d’Indaco. Anderson avoided the submission hold, went to the eyes, and a knee plant preceded yet another Andersault. She’d pick Rose up and try to whip her into the corner, but Rose would reverse the attempt sensing that Elyssa’s rarely-seen Elysium Whirl was coming, and tag in Silver. A seated face plant put Anderson in danger of Silver’s aerial finisher, but Elyssa got to the ropes to stop the attempt, threw Silver off the rope, and tagged in Gross after fourteen minutes in the ring. Despite Gross being the fresher person on his team, he couldn’t prevent Silver from breaking free from a Come to Jesus attempt and tagging in Rose. Rose went for a stump piledriver, which Gross broke free from and turned into an inverted atomic drop. Then, in a questionable move, he tagged in an unaware Anderson, who barely had a minute and a half to recover. There were angry glares exchanged by Gross and Anderson before the latter pulled Rose to her feet and sent her into the corner. This time, there was little fight put up from Rose, and Anderson managed to put the Italian down with an Elysium Whirl. It took Anderson an extra few seconds to drop into a cover, one arm over Rose due to sheer exhaustion. Indigo Rose kicked out of the Elysium Whirl at 2.8. When Elyssa finally comprehended what the official was telling her, she was livid. She’d gotten a second wind, it seemed, as not one but two Andersaults followed, the latter also netting a two-count. Pulling Rose to her feet, Elyssa whipped her to the corner again, except this time Rose reversed it and the official got caught up in the crossfire again. Rose would maintain control while the official was down, timing her application of the Vite d’Indaco perfectly to coincide with the official recovering enough to take charge again. That should have been the end, but Anderson managed to wriggle enough to break the grasp of Rose before she submitted, giving her a precious few seconds reprieve. It wouldn’t last, as Rose whippe Anderson into the corner again, delivered a flurry of stomps, and once more locked in the hold. Gross went to enter the ring to break up the submission, but found his progress held up by Silver, who had circled the ring outside and had a deathgrip on his ankle. Anderson would not tap, instead passing out and forcing the ref to call for the bell as Anderson’s body simply gave out on her. In what had become the longest match of Tag Team Turmoil so far, Indigo Rose and Sterling Silver survived a war to advance to the next round. Indigo Rose & Sterling Silver def. Elyssa Anderson & Rev. Johnny Gross, two falls to one, in 55:50. Rating: *** Fall 1: Silver pinned Gross with an On Wings of Silver at 26:59 Fall 2: Gross pinned Silver after a missed On Wings of Silver at 30:35 Fall 3: Rose submitted Anderson with a Vite d’Indaco at 55:50 Hailey Carmichael/Jack “Classic” Braddock vs. El Tornado/Blood River The semifinals opened with Hailey and River in the ring, with neither competitor getting a distinct advantage in the opening minutes. Each had roughly the same amount of offense, but it was River who retreated first, tagging in Tornado. Instead of trying her luck, Hailey tagged in Braddock to take on the luchador. The first impression seemed to be that this was a mistake, as Tornado kept out of range of Braddock, moving quickly to make sure he didn’t catch the hands or feet of Braddock. A leaping elbow drop attempt was no good for Tornado, which allowed Braddock to tag out to Carmichael. She didn’t fare much better, though, as Tornado avoiding a falling headbutt on Hailey’s best burst of offense led to a couple minutes of Tornado setting the pace the way he wanted. Surprisingly, it wasn’t the fast-paced action many were expecting. Instead, he was methodical in his approach, keeping Hailey grounded with chop blocks, elbow drops, and other strikes. Carmichael had a hope spot for a brief bit, pulling Tornado down by the back of his mask and turning to tag in Braddock. However, the luchador would stop that attempt with the Super Twister, spinning Hailey around for about ten seconds before finally finishing the head scissors takedown. Tornado went to pull Haley up to try something else, but she went to the eyes and managed to tag in Braddock before the masked man could respond. Tornado backed away instinctively on hearing the tag, ending up in his corner where Blood River tagged himself into the match. Jack would hit a couple of strikes on offense, but River’s experience would prove to be vital as he let Braddock swing and miss on a few occasions to leave him vulnerable to River’s own strikes. One notable instance was River ducking a spinning backfist from Braddock and countering with a low blow. As the referee berated him, River turned, gave a one-fingered salute, and dropped Braddock with a DDT to keep the offense going. Braddock was slow to get up, and River met him with a second DDT. River seemed to think it was time to look for The Offering, as he started to make his way to the corner right in front of Braddock. But Braddock shoved River from behind, causing the masked man to stumble awkwardly towards the turnbuckles, and Jack took advantage of the moment to dash across the ring before River could recover to make the hot tag to Hailey. Unfortunately for Carmichael, River recovered quicker than expected, and her momentum was derailed almost immediately. River would control the next couple of minutes, keeping Carmichael grounded and wearing her down with strikes and rest holds. An attempted stump piledriver brought the opening Hailey needed, as she squirmed out of the grasp of River and made the tag to Braddock. Jack had recovered enough to send River chest-first into the turnbuckles, and followed this with various strikes to the back of River’s head. River would counter with chops, and an attempted spear that got countered by Braddock kicking River’s leg from under him as he sidestepped the masked man. Jack would go for a kick to the corner, only for River to duck it and whip Braddock into the masked man’s corner, where a tag to Tornado was easily made. Braddock would be on the defensive for the next few minutes, as Tornado tried almost everything in his arsenal to keep Braddock down long enough to launch a Tornado Splash. Braddock thwarted one attempt by getting to the ropes (and ate a middle rope dropkick for his troubles), but the second attempt saw Braddock toss Tornado off the rope and make a hot tag to Hailey. Carmichael came in and promptly applied the VSCOverleaf, looking just to inflict pain, before following with some strikes of her own. A low blow attempt got turned into a seated face plant by Tornado, and as Hailey got out of he way of the follow-up elbow drop, she tagged Braddock back in, to his chagrin. Tornado would catch Braddock coming in with a kick and stomp flurry in the corner, but yet another elbow drop would miss, and Braddock would not look back. Kicking Tornado into Jack’s corner, Braddock unleashed a number of strikes before hitting a Jack Attack and going for the cover…only to see Tornado kick out at two and a half. A second Jack Attack a minute later would not fail, and Braddock had put his team one fall away from the finals. On the match restart, Tornado caught an advancing Braddock with a whip to the corner, and the masked man tagged out to River. River kept Braddock in the corner for about a minute before delivering a Sacrifice, and things looked like they were about to be evened up at a fall apiece. However, yet again River was impatient, going for a diving headbutt instead of waiting to unleash The Offering, allowing Braddock to make the tag to Carmichael. Hailey would get caught closing in by an eye poke, and River spent the next minutes trying to set Carmichael up for The Sacrifice. Finally getting Hailey in position, River went to the ropes to build up momentum… …and was tripped up by Leslie Burrell, who had been all but forgotten at ringside. The official immediately tossed Burrell, who went without a fuss, which was a good thing. Otherwise, the official might have missed Hailey making the tag to Braddock. A stomp to the chest preceded Braddock picking up River and delivering a Jack Attack to the supposed cultist, and Hailey ran across the ring to run interference as the official counted the pinfall. Three seconds later, thanks to the fortuitous timing of Hailey’s manservant, The Duchy of Clarence had reached the finals of Tag Team Turmoil. Jack “Classic” Braddock & Hailey Carmichael def. Blood River & El Tornado, two falls to zero, in 39:10. Rating: *** Fall 1: Braddock pinned Tornado with a Jack Attack at 30:29 Fall 2: Braddock pinned River with a Jack Attack at 39:10 Glenn Knight/Markus Clay vs. Indigo Rose/Sterling Silver After the marathon that Rose and Silver had gone through earlier, there had to be no way that they were in peak condition to face Knight and Clay. Someone forgot to give Silver that memo as for the opening two minutes of the match she had Knight on the defensive, keeping a quick tempo going on offense. When she went to head to the ropes for a middle rope dropkick, though, Glenn started to make a comeback with his striking arsenal. It didn’t last, though, and Knight took the first chance he could to create some distance between himself and Silver so he could tag Clay into the match. As Clay stepped through the ropes, Silver yielded to Rose’s insistence to come into the match herself. Rose apparently had Clay scouted pretty well, as Rose spent two minutes just whooping Clay in the ring, capped off with a DDT that looked like it was going to be Blood From a Rose but she couldn’t get the right angle on it. An elbow drop missed, allowing Clay to take out some of his frustrations on Rose with eye pokes and choke holds sprinkled in around chinlocks and monkey flips. Soon after, Clay thought he had Rose in trouble, and went for a spear which Rose turned into a side headlock takedown near her corner. Silver was able to reach her to tag herself into the contest, and a running half senton followed by a headlock was her offense of choice. Clay would avoid another senton, hit a senton of his own and use the ropes to choke Silver out for a few seconds. A follow-up DDT would be countered into a seated face plant, and as Silver lined up Clay for a modified spear, Clay would counter with a dropkick to stop Silver in her tracks. Both combatants looked at each other warily before seeming to come to a non-verbal agreement and tagging in their respective partners. Rose and Knight would re-enter the match, and trade offensive moves for a minute or two before Rose broke a DDT attempt from Glenn and took control of an arm with a top wristlock, backing Glenn near her corner so Silver could tag back in. Silver tried for a DDT, which Glenn broke and countered with a running knee lift, but his attempt at a chop block was avoided, leaving him open to that same DDT that he had avoided just moments earlier. Silver wasted no time, knowing another long match was not in her team’s best interests. A jump to the top rope and another jump off of them later, On Wings of Silver had connected, and the ladies were one fall away from the finals. As the match restarted, Knight caught Silver charging in with a high knee, and immediately tagged out to Clay to give himself a chance to recover. Clay came running in, ate a DDT for his troubles, and could do nothing as Silver tagged out to Rose. Rose immediately went for a Vite d’Indaco, but Clay got a hand on the ropes to prevent it from being cinched in. Back on her feet, Rose misjudged how quick Clay would get up, as she turned to see him charging for a spear. Except, she didn’t misjudge at all. Rose hit a drop toe hold and immediately went into the Vite d’Indaco in the dead center of the ring, luring Clay away from the ropes to make sure he couldn’t break the hold this time. By the time Glenn saw his partner was in trouble and tried to get into the ring, it was too late. Clay tapped out, seeing no easy escape and combined with the match earlier in the night taking its toll on him. Silver and Rose had done what many thought was impossible for them—they’d made the finals to be held the following night. Sterling Silver & Indigo Rose def. Markus Clay & Glenn Knight, two falls to zero, in 21:12. Rating: ** Fall 1: Silver pinned Knight with an On Wings of Silver at 18:02 Fall 2: Rose submitted Clay with a Vite d’Indaco at 21:12

HARDCORE MATCH: Sterling Silver (2-6, OVR 411) vs. The Mastodon (1-7, OVR 404) For a hardcore match, there was nothing really “hardcore” about this one. Standard affair that ran long because Sterling wanted to be certain to hit Mastodon with On Wings of Silver and make sure he stayed down. Naturally, Mastodon went through an adrenaline rush after it hit, and it took a second one to put him away in what was otherwise an average variety big-man-versus-luchadora match to open up the night’s festivities. Sterling Silver (3-6) def. The Mastodon (1-8) via Pinfall (On Wings of Silver) in 24:43. Rating: ** Changes for Sterling Silver: OVR + 4.8, XP + 491.86, minor damage to head and body Changes for The Mastodon: OVR -0.08, XP + 122.97, severe damage to head, major damage to body Sven Ulafsson (3-5, OVR 420) vs. Jean-Paul Ouilette (2-6, OVR 406)  Much like the last match, this one was your standard ten-a-penny average wrestling match. Ouilette was in trouble early, controlled the middle portion of the bout, got a lucky break when Cecile Corine decided to trip up Ulafsson late in the contest, and in the end could not put Ulafsson away. Ulafsson hits a Pure Power on the second try to pick up a much-needed win. Sven Ulafsson (4-5) def. Jean-Paul Ouilette (2-7) via Pinfall (Pure Power) in 16:14. This was one-sided throughout, and Gross won easily after a low blow. The result was never in doubt after about the third minute in; Gibson was that overclassed tonight. Reverend Johnny Gross (7-2) def. Erick Gibson (2-7) via Pinfall (Low Blow) in 10:07. Rating: * Changes for Reverend Johnny Gross: OVR + 2.80, XP + 444.45, no notable damage Changes for Erick Gibson: OVR -0.85, XP + 94.45, no notable damage BLUE DIVISION Indigo Rose (3-5, OVR 415) vs. Hailey Carmichael (4-4, OVR 416)  After the way Tag Team Turmoil ended, it was expected by many that Hailey would have the clear advantage in this match, and this shouldn’t last more than ten minutes. This ended up being closer than most expected, even if both women seemed a step or three slower and the match quality greatly suffered for it. This could easily have gone another five or ten minutes beyond what it did, but the exhaustion from the Iron Man match last week caught up to Rose. A running schoolboy rollup from Carmichael, no tights required, kept Rose down for the three and served as a very anti-climactic end to what was seen coming in as one of the most-hyped matches of week nine. Hailey Carmichael (5-4) def. Indigo Rose (3-6) via Pinfall (Running Schoolboy Rollup) in 18:21. Rating: * Changes for Hailey Carmichael: OVR + 3.13, XP + 380.86, minor damage to head Changes for Indigo Rose: OVR -0.95, XP + 112.02, minor damage to head TABLES MATCH Glenn Knight (6-2, OVR 425) vs. Sin (2-6, OVR 407) Perhaps the wrestlers needed a week off after Tag Team Turmoil rather than before, as for the fifth match running an uninspired effort was put on display. This one had a semblance of being competitive but Sin was still easily overwhelmed in short order. He may be a striker, but a DDT through a table only half set-up still counts, as Knight locks up win number seven and keeps up the pressure in the Green Division. Glenn Knight (7-2) def. Sin (2-7) via Table Break (DDT) in 11:03. Rating: ** Changes for Glenn Knight: OVR + 4.03, XP + 485.30, minor damage to head Changes for Sin: OVR -0.07, XP + 121.33, minor damage to head YELLOW DIVISION TABLES MATCH Elyssa Anderson (2-6, OVR 416) vs. Brian Blackfield (3-5, OVR 417) The opening few minutes were the only competitive part of this match. After the five-minute mark, it was all Blackfield, and Anderson’s best chance to win a singles RRW since week two quickly flew out the window thanks to a stump piledriver. Elyssa’s losing streak is now at seven and shows no signs of letting up any time soon. Brian Blackfield (4-5) def. Elyssa Anderson (2-7) via Table Break (Stump Piledriver) in 9:52. The question was if the lead would be one match or two over Hailey, and the smart money was the lead being maintained at two after Hailey’s win earlier tonight. Diego had other plans. This was a full-on squash match that Diego controlled from bell to bell, capped off with a Harmony of Dissonance. It only took twelve minutes and change to turn the race in the Blue Division into a more competitive one to start the second half of the season. Diego Rodriguez (3-6) def. Lance Heartilly (6-3) via Submission (Harmony of Dissonance) in 12:13. Rating: * Changes for Diego Rodriguez: OVR + 2.89, XP + 445.38, no notable damage Changes for Lance Heartilly: OVR -0.88, XP + 111.34, minor damage to head Billy Norris (4-4, OVR 419) vs. Jack "Classic" Braddock (4-4, OVR 418) Much like several other matches tonight, this one seemed to be a step or two slower than it normally would be. An otherwise competitive match, this came down to Braddock using his striking to wear down the Australian. Norris made a comeback, but missed a Down Under Disaster and ate a Jack Attack shortly thereafter. Braddock breaks the .500 barrier and puts pressure on Diamond Steel and Vladimir Chavinski to keep pace in the Purple Division. Jack "Classic" Braddock (5-4) def. Billy Norris (4-5) via Pinfall (Jack Attack) in 20:31. It was so one-sided, the loser of the bout hit less than a dozen blows. Blood River actually managed to hit The Offering, which has been a rarity in RRW this season, to pick up his fifth win and set an RRW record in he process. Blood River (5-4) def. Terrance Stevens (5-4) via Pinfall (The Offering) in 6:18. Typical Nagata start in being on defense for the first few minutes, but came back and slowly wore Otto down with strikes before putting him away with a Nagata Knockout as the string of poorly-received matches continued. Eugene Nagata (5-4) def. Otto von Schwarz (5-4) via Pinfall (Nagata Knockout) in 16:15. But it was the smaller person doing the squashing this time. Brandy had her foot on the gas from the opening bell and did not let up at all. It took her just under eleven minutes to put Onoo away, though to Jun’s credit it did take two finishers to keep him down. Brandy McDonald (7-2) def. Heavily one-sided bout, outcome not really in question from the start. Steel took control early, had to fend off a late surge from Tornado, and extended her advantage in the Purple Division with a one-sided victory. Diamond Steel (7-2) def. El Tornado (3-6) via Pinfall (All Out Blitz) in 11:56. Once Abernathy got on a roll, however, Anarchy’ chances went away quickly. He’d fight out of a few Shatterfall and God Save the Queen attempts, but Abernathy was simply too much tonight. Anarchy eventually fell to a Shatterfall, and Abernathy maintains his position atop the Green Division with the (current) best record in RRW. Lord Robert Abernathy (8-1) def. The Siberian Nightmare is still very much alive in the Red Division despite a 3-5 record, thanks to Eugene Nagata’s win over Otto von Schwarz earlier on. He can close the gap and be a match behind the leader if he can get past Daniel Simmons here. Johnny Tyler: Someone wake me up when the show ends. I’ve sat through three hours of the most boring wrestling this side of the Mississippi. A match with these two isn’t making me feel any better. Tess Bradenbury: …As for Simmons, he’s well behind in the Green Division, as Lord Robert Abernathy and Glenn Knight have made that a two-person race, but Simmons is in contention for one of the two wild card spots in the Wrestlehut Conference. Rating: *** Changes for Daniel Simmons: OVR + 5.56, XP + 603.25, minor damage to body Changes for The Siberian Nightmare: OVR + 0.77, XP + 207.06, moderate damage to head This was the Match of the Night (3 for Daniel Simmons, 3 for The Siberian Nightmare) Pulsar (6-2, OVR 433) vs. Vladimir Chavinski (4-4, OVR 414) Coming off the heels of the previous match, this one seemed just as energized and enjoyable, and helped to take the taste of the first thirteen matches of the night out of the viewers’ mouths. Pulsar controlled the first few minutes, keeping to a hit-and-run offense to stay away from Chavinski’s MMA-influenced striking offense. A few lucha senton pin attempts amounted to nothing (as pretty much everyone knew they would), but Chavinski would get a chance to get into the match after surprising Pulsar by getting to the ropes to stop a Zodiac Implosion. It took a minute for Vladimir to get going after being on the wrong end of the offense for a fair portion of the match but when he did, he wasn’t going to be stopped any time soon. Eschewing what few wrestling holds he knew, he stuck to his fists and feet, even getting in a solid ground and pound sequence for a few seconds that seemed like he was setting up to finish the fight. He let the momentum get the better of him, though, as he missed an elbow drop that let Pulsar back into the match. Chavinski would get a few more strikes in but Pulsar had been given a second chance to win the match and he wouldn’t squander it. A Zodiac Implosion connected a minute or two later, and Pulsar walks away having certainly earned his seventh win of the season. Pulsar (7-2) def. The winner would control his own destiny in the Yellow Division throughout the second half of the season…at least until the rematch in two weeks. Sadly, this match also fell victim to the malaise that troubled the vast majority of the matches this week. It was somewhat one-sided, with Clay controlling most of the match. Yoshii would have some offense, but nowhere near enough to hold off Clay. A Johannesburg Express delivered Clay the division lead, and left Lord Abernathy as the only member of RRW with an 8-1 record as week nine mercifully (for the viewers, anyway) came to an end. ROWDY RINGSPORTS WRESTLING: SEASON ONE, WEEK TEN Live from an empty RRW Arena in Kansas City, Missouri! Indigo Rose (3-6, OVR 414) vs. The Mastodon (1-8, OVR 404) In most “traditional” wrestling promotions, this would be the equivalent of a dark pre-show match: something to get the crowd warmed up for the main card to follow. A competitive, if not very exciting, match happened here with Indigo struggling to offset the sheer size and power of Mastodon, but doing a fairly decent job with various holds. The power was too much, though, and in the end Mastodon finally notches his second win of the season with a Rampage lariat. The Mastodon (2-8) def. Indigo Rose (3-7) via Pinfall (Rampage) in 17:38. Rating: ** Changes for The Mastodon: OVR + 4.40, XP + 488.46, no notable damage Changes for Indigo Rose: OVR -0.08, XP + 122.12, minor damage to head Eugene Nagata (5-4, OVR 416) vs. Sin (2-7, OVR 407) In what would serve as a second preshow bout elsewhere, this was a surprisingly lackluster bout. It was close, that was certain, but it lacked a spark to really get going. Nagata had spent the week apparently working with his manager on the Nagata Special exploder suplex, and it paid off in this match as two of them preceded the Nagata Knockout, keeping his chances of a playoff spot well within reach. Eugene Nagata (6-4) def. sin (2-8) via Pinfall (Nagata Knockout) in 14:06. Rating: * Changes for Eugene Nagata: OVR + 2.96, XP + 379.27, minor damage to head Changes for sin: OVR -0.90, XP + 111.55, moderate damage to head Jimmy Anarchy (3-6, OVR 410) vs. Billy Norris (4-5, OVR 419) It didn’t take long to show that the low-energy matches last week may have been a fluke. Anarchy and Norris went at it full tilt from the opening bell, and for nearly sixteen minutes never let off the gas. It was back and forth, though Anarchy had the initial edge and nearly connected with Any Means Necessary, only for Norris to sidestep the groin punch and counter with a forearm to the chin. Stunned, Anarchy had to weather the storm that followed, including a Boomerang DDT, a few sentons, and a couple of forearm shivers. Anarchy had a chance to come back, but Norris breaking out of a knee-plant DDT would spell doom for Anarchy. One Down Under Disaster later, Norris picked up the duke in a pretty entertaining match, maintaining his spot (at least) in the Wrestlehut Conference playoff ladder for the time being. Billy Norris (5-5) def. Jimmy Anarchy (3-7) via Pinfall (Down Under Disaster) in 15:41. Rating: *** Changes for Billy Norris: OVR + 5.55, XP + 528.16, no notable damage Changes for Jimmy Anarchy: OVR + 0.77, XP + 132.04, minor damage to head Diego Rodriguez (3-6, OVR 415) vs. Vladimir Chavinski (4-5, OVR 415) Both men entered this match in the lower half of their respective conferences (Diego in 11th, Vladimir in 10th). Both would need a win here to give themselves any hope of making up ground in the last six weeks of the season. But neither man really showed the fire that situation warranted. This was an average bout that Rodriguez managed to execute his strategy beautifully before a handful of minutes had passed—he knew Chavinski would come out swinging, so endure the opening storm of offense and strike back after Chavinski was gassed. It wouldn’t be enough, though, as Chavinski locked in a near-desperate rear naked choke to get the submission victory and stay somewhat in contention. As for Rodriguez, he would basically need to run the table the rest of the season and even then could need some additional help to find his way into the postseason. Vladimir Chavinski (5-5) def. Cecile Corine got thrown out of the match near the end of the first round when she tripped up River. Rounds two and three belonged to Ouilette, and it could be argued that the fourth went to River (though the first and fourth rounds were rather close). Round five saw the first fall of the match, as Ouilette landed Le Petit Mort on his third try to score the pinfall. He’d follow this up in the sixth with another Le Petit Mort, this time on the second attempt, to pick up the win and seriously hamper River’s playoff hopes by dropping him to an even record. Jean-Paul Ouilette (3-7) def. Blood River (5-5), two falls to zero in 27:58. Both men are third in their respective divisions, and need a win to keep any hope of a playoff berth alive. Johnny Tyler: At this point, Tess, it’s a pointless endeavor. Not with two people ahead of each of them. Tess Bradenbury: This is more of a must-win for El Tornado, who needs a win to stay within reasonable mathematical reach of Pulsar, who will be in our main event tonight. Blackfield may be able to absorb one more loss given the comparison between his record and those of Markus Clay and Yoshii Nakamatsu in the Yellow Division, but a win is still of vital importance to his chances this season. Johnny Tyler: …Tess, are you done? I think you’ve put everyone to sleep talking too much about people who have no chance of making the playoffs. In fact, why are we even showing this match? Can’t we just skip to the second half of the show or something and be done with it? Tess Bradenbury: And yet you wonder why people call you the worst part of RRW, Johnny. Both men aware of the urgency of this match, and it’s certainly shown in the early going. Johnny Tyler: Which, after the crap that we showed on air last week, is a refreshing change of pace. Tess Bradenbury: I thought you were wondering why we were showing this match, Johnny? Johnny Tyler: I’m allowed to change my mind, you know! quote:(06:12) El Tornado picked up Blackfield Tess Bradenbury: Blackfield trying for a second piledriver, looking to soften Tornado up for a Scotland Destroyer, but Tornado was having none of it! Johnny Tyler: I don’t get why he has other piledrivers in his arsenal if his finisher is one. Tess Bradenbury: Same reason some people have other punches when their finisher is a straight right to the jaw, Johnny. It keeps the opponent wary for it at any point. All right, so maybe we do need to see some of these lower-end matches, if they’re going to be as good as that one was! Brian Blackfield (5-5) def. El Tornado (3-7) via Pinfall (Scotland Destroyer) in 17:17. Rating: *** Changes for Brian Blackfield: OVR + 5.67, XP + 603.99, minor damage to head Changes for El Tornado: OVR + 0.79, XP + 207.25, minor damage to head and body This was the Match of the Night (2 for Brian Blackfield, 3 for El Tornado) Sterling Silver (3-6, OVR 416) vs. Jack "Classic" Braddock (5-4, OVR 422) This ended up being a contender for Match of the Night. Braddock came in with the opportunity to overtake Blood River in the conference standings and move into sixth place (the provisional second wild card spot). Silver found herself in 13th, with a win moving her provisionally to 11th and keeping her dreams for making the playoffs alive. In the beginning, Silver had Braddock on his heels, bringing the striking offense to bear against one of the best strikers in RRW. Just when Braddock was beginning to find a way to counter that, she switched into her more traditional lucha style offense. About nine minutes into the contest, Silver looked like she was on the verge of a minor upset and was ready to spoil Braddock’s plans. He had other ideas, however. Rolling out of the way of a running senton, Braddock got back to what brought him this far, with measured strikes rocking Silver and dismantling any momentum she had acquired to this point. A spinning backfist followed by a DDT helped speed matters up, and it only took another two minutes after that for Braddock to hit the Jack Attack, score the pinfall, and move himself into a playoff position for the moment. Jack "Classic" Braddock (6-4) def. Sterling Silver (3-7) via Pinfall (Jack Attack) in 15:56. Rating: *** Changes for Jack "Classic" Braddock: OVR + 5.57, XP + 528.29, minor damage to head and body Changes for Sterling Silver: OVR + 0.77, XP + 132.07, moderate damage to head Elyssa Anderson (2-7, OVR 416) vs. Lance Heartilly (6-3, OVR 422) Heartilly came in as the Blue Division leader, with Hailey Carmichael hot on his heels, and needed a win against the floundering Anderson to keep the extra cushion between him and Carmichael (since he holds the head-to-head tiebreaker from back in week four). For nine minutes, he did exactly that, giving Anderson little chance to get any sustained offense in while keeping her grounded with holds and submission attempts. The problem, though, is the match didn’t end at nine minutes. Anderson broke free of a Heartilly Arm Breaker and picked up the pace, capitalizing on what little offense she had gotten earlier in the match. Heartilly couldn’t find a way to derail her momentum again, and despite the referee giving her a (rightly-due) ration of grief for hitting a cheap low blow, Anderson managed to keep Heartilly down for a three-count. Her losing streak finally ended at seven matches, and the door was open for Hailey Carmichael to make a run at the Blue Division lead. Elyssa Anderson (3-7) def. Lance Heartilly (6-4) via Pinfall (Begging Off Low Blow) in 11:08. Rating: ** Changes for Elyssa Anderson: OVR + 4.03, XP + 485.34, no notable damage Changes for Lance Heartilly: OVR -0.07, XP + 121.34, no notable damage RED DIVISION Sven Ulafsson (4-5, OVR 424) vs. Jun Onoo (3-6, OVR 417) This was expected to be a hoss-off. Couple of big guys with excellent strength going after each other, and the match itself didn’t disappoint. Very even throughout, with a lot of back and forth action and one sequence for about thirty seconds where neither man could complete a move as the opponent would block or break the hold. All told, this was an interesting bout, and a remote contender for Match of the Night. Ulafsson had the early advantage, a bodyslam shaking the ring as he dropped Onoo onto the mat. A few moves later, Onoo would get out of a DDT attempt and hit a standing spinebuster, rattling the ring even more. Ulafsson would duck a running clothesline attempt and hit a high knee to the back to force Onoo outside, giving Sven a few seconds to recover. He’d need more than that, as despite busting Onoo open with a DDT when the latter returned to the ring, Jun would get back on the offense, thwart a Nordic Backbreaker attempt, and deliver an IMPACT Driver to pick up the win. While this helped Onoo within the division, it helped Otto von Schwarz even more, as he was now guaranteed to leave week ten with the Red Division lead thanks to Onoo’s victory. Jun Onoo (4-6) def. Sven Ulafsson (4-6) via Pinfall (IMPACT Driver) in 14:28. Rating: *** Changes for Jun Onoo: OVR + 5.46, XP + 527.52, minor damage to head Changes for Sven Ulafsson: OVR + 0.76, XP + 131.88, minor damage to head and body GREEN DIVISION Erick Gibson (2-7, OVR 408) vs. Glenn Knight (7-2, OVR 429)This one was just shy of being a Match of the Night contender. It was fairly even to start, but Knight had started to pull away about eight minutes in, and was well within his rights to attempt The Promise when he felt fit to. Knight went to the ropes for a running forearm, only to be tripped up by Karen McClure at ringside. This let Gibson back into the match, who took full advantage of it and wore Knight down. However, Gibson would be unable to connect with a Terminable Offense on several occasions, and this inability to finish Knight would cost him, as Glenn managed to hit The Promise and earn a hard-fought victory to keep the pressure on the Green Division leader, Lord Robert Abernathy. Glenn Knight (8-2) def. Erick Gibson (2-8) via Pinfall (The Promise) in 15:19. Rating: ** Changes for Glenn Knight: OVR + 4.27, XP + 487.35, moderate damage to head Changes for Erick Gibson: OVR -0.08, XP + 103.56, minor damage to head Hailey Carmichael (5-4, OVR 419) vs. Diamond Steel (7-2, OVR 427) This was a surprisingly even contest throughout, even if not terribly exciting. Leslie Burrell made her presence felt before two minutes had passed, which merited her an early exit from the ringside area and ultimately didn’t amount to much. The two women kept passing the advantage back and forth, neither one ever getting more than a minute or two of sustained offense. This continued until about thirteen minutes into the match, when Hailey finally managed to string enough moves together to get a sustained advantage and apply #NoFilter. Steel was caught in the center of the ring, with no way to escape, and only after some reluctance finally yielded. In one fell swoop, both the Blue and Purple Division races got that much more interesting. Hailey Carmichael (6-4) def. Diamond Steel (7-3) via Submission (#NoFilter) in 16:01. Rating: ** Changes for Hailey Carmichael: OVR + 4.31, XP + 414.53, minor damage to head Changes for Diamond Steel: OVR -0.08, XP + 121.92, minor damage to head RED DIVISION The Siberian Nightmare (3-6, OVR 423) vs. Otto von Schwarz (5-4, OVR 428) Another Match of the Night contender, this started with Otto having the early advantage, working over Nightmare with hard strikes. At one point, von Schwarz managed to hoist Nightmare up for a powerbomb, and the impact was so hard it even made the ref stumble for a moment. Nightmare would start to make a comeback of his own, and seeing a man the size of von Schwarz being snapmared to the mat is certainly something one won’t see every day. Seeing von Schwarz driven to the mat by a double underhook powerbomb also isn’t on the everyday occurrences list, but that one got checked off about twelve minutes in. Nightmare was on the verge of scoring a much-needed win over the Red Division leader, but went for another powerbomb and this time failed to connect as von Schwarz shifted his weight to simply fall on Nightmare. It was the last gasp for Nightmare, as a hammerlock powerbomb led to a Gute Nacht, and von Schwartz would escape week ten with a win and maintain command of the Red Division lead. Otto von Schwarz (6-4) def. The Siberian Nightmare (3-7) via Pinfall (Gute Nacht) in 15:56. Rating: *** Changes for Otto von Schwarz: OVR + 5.57, XP + 449.04, no notable damage Changes for The Siberian Nightmare: OVR + 0.77, XP + 132.07, minor damage to head and body Terrance Stevens (5-4, OVR 420) vs. Yoshii Nakamatsu (7-2, OVR 434) The match itself wasn’t anything special to write home about. Nakamatsu seemed hesitant to try attempting his finisher, perhaps afraid he wouldn’t be able to get Stevens up for it. So instead, Yoshii tried to focus on the head, perhaps looking for a blood stoppage finish. He didn’t take into account the fact that Stevens got that wild look in his eyes when he saw his own blood. It was a mistake Yoshii would pay dearly for. It took less than a minute for Stevens to deliver a Maple Leaf Meltdown and maintain his sixth-place standing in the Ringsports Conferemce. Terrance Stevens (6-4) def. Yoshii Nakamatsu (7-3) via Pinfall (Maple Leaf Meltdown) in 14:00. Rating: ** Changes for Terrance Stevens: OVR + 4.19, XP + 486.72, moderate damage to head Changes for Yoshii Nakamatsu: OVR -0.07, XP + 121.68, no notable damage LAST MAN STANDING MATCH Brandy McDonald (7-2, OVR 428) vs. Reverend Johnny Gross (7-2, OVR 424) Two division leaders, both ranked number two in their respective conferences, squared off in this matchup. Apparently, only one showed up to wrestle. This was just barely out of squash territory, but only just, as Brandy had her way with the right Reverend. Gross had trouble getting anything going and ended up falling to a Brandy With a Twist rather early, getting to his feet a half second after the referee hit the count of ten. Just too little too late. Brandy McDonald (8-2) def. Reverend Johnny Gross (7-3) via Last Woman Standing (Brandy With a Twist ) in 9:50. Simmons did get in a Working Man’s Dropkick during the match, but would no get the next two off and that was basically his best offense the entire contest. Abernathy would be in control for most of the match, capped off by a God Save the Queen, and His Lordship maintained his spot atop the entirety of RRW with his ninth win. Lord Robert Abernathy (9-1) def. Daniel Simmons (5-5) via Submission (God Save the Queen) in 14:25. Rating: ** Changes for Lord Robert Abernathy: OVR + 4.22, XP + 486.92, minor damage to head Changes for Daniel Simmons: OVR -0.07, XP + 121.73, minor damage to head Markus Clay (7-2, OVR 430) vs. Pulsar (7-2, OVR 439) Another bout with two division leaders would be the main event of the evening. Thanks to Diamond Steel and Reverend Gross losing earlier in the night, Pulsar had the chance to leap into the number two rank in the Wrestlehut Conference with a victory, while Clay needed a quick win to maintain the top spot in the Ringsports Conference ahead of the victorious Brandy McDonald. This was another match that fell in the category of “competitive, but not very exciting,” which is saying something given the two cruiserweights in the ring. Clay had a long run with the advantage, and for a while it seemed like this was going to be a cakewalk for the South African. A missed running seated dropkick let Pulsar back in the match, who proceeded to go on a tear. He seemed off his game a little, though, as he slipped up on two separate occasions to go up for the Zodiac Implosion. Third time was the charm, however, as he finally hit the shooting star senton and earned the pinfall, and ended week ten with shaking up the top ranks of both conferences. Pulsar (8-2) def. Markus Clay (7-3) via Pinfall (Zodiac Implosion) in 17:32. Yeah there is a very small cross section between Rocky Fans and Theater Nerds, but the show was quite fun. They pulled the first few rows of people onto stage to pull the ring out for the final fight. It rules.

It’s rather likely that this week’s show gets pushed back to Tuesday. Real life (TM) interfered and took away my main day to run matches and get the bulk of the show done today. I’ll try to finish the remainder of the matches tomorrow (tonight is social time with my roommate), but with 13 matches still to run the odds are that I’ll have to take Monday evening as well to finish everything up.

ROWDY RINGSPORTS WRESTLING: SEASON ONE, WEEK ELEVEN Live from an empty RRW Arena in Kansas City, Missouri! TABLES MATCH Erick Gibson (2-8, OVR 408) vs. Jimmy Anarchy (3-7, OVR 411) For an opening match, this was serviceable, but not very memorable. The match remained in the ring the entire time, and was back and forth throughout. Gibson, thinking his opponent was worn down enough to be ripe to be put through a table, went out of the ring to grab said table and introduce it into the match, setting it up in the corner. However, Anarchy was playing possum, avoiding a Terminable Offense and hitting a quick DDT through the table Gibson himself had set up to earn the sudden victory. Jimmy Anarchy (4-7) def. Erick Gibson (2-9) via Table Break (DDT) in 12:01. Rating: ** Changes for Jimmy Anarchy: OVR + 4.08, XP + 485.77, No notable damage Changes for Erick Gibson: OVR -0.07, XP + 103.23, No notable damage Daniel Simmons (5-5, OVR 429) vs. Sin (2-8, OVR 406) Sin came into this match a decided underdog. For starters, her opponent was too big compared to her to execute her Depravity finisher (her arms were just too short to properly hook up Simmons’ arms for the double-arm DDT). The backup method of winning, causing blood stoppage, wasn’t very likely as she didn’t have many moves with a decent chance of busting an opponent open. No one bothered to tell Sin all of this. Through sheer dogged determination, she managed to bust open Simmons at sixteen minutes into the match, and maintain enough control for the next eight minutes to pull off the improbable win, including slipping out of a Quitting Time to get back on offense and hold on long enough for the referee to finally call the match after one knee drop too many on the forehead laceration of Simmons. Sin (3-8) def. Daniel Simmons (5-6) via Blood Stoppage in 23:45. Rating: ** Changes for Sin: OVR + 5.30, XP + 491.40, minor damage to head Changes for Daniel Simmons: OVR + 1.17, XP + 122.85, severe damage to head BLUE DIVISION Diego Rodriguez (3-7, OVR 415) vs. Hailey Carmichael (6-4, OVR 424) This match was rather dull, all things considered. While it had a bit of competition in it, there wasn’t a whole lot of it as both participants struggled to find any offense rhythm until about a dozen minutes deep into the match. Even then, it was Carmichael who twisted away from a Harmony of Dissonance to get some offense going, divert the official for a second or two by tampering with the turnbuckle pad, and connect with a low blow outside of the official’s view to steal a victory and put pressure on Lance Heartilly to keep the Blue Division lead later in the card. Hailey Carmichael (7-4) def. Diego Rodriguez (3-8) via Pinfall (Low Blow) in 18:29. This one didn’t sit well with the television audience at all. Reports later in the week would show that a good third of the audience watching this match turned it off halfway through, and wouldn’t tune back in until the next match was underway. Noted wrestling journalist Maven Deltzer called this match a “snore-fest,” and that the only reason he didn’t give it a DUD rating is because there was at least a little competitiveness to it. Nagata ended up winning after a Nagata Knockout.  (Don’t believe me? See for yourself!) Eugene Nagata (7-4) def. Sven Ulafsson (4-7) via Pinfall (Nagaa Knockout) in 16:28. Rating: * Changes for Eugene Nagata: OVR + 3.06, XP + 380.16, no notable damage Changes for Sven Ulafsson: OVR -0.93, XP + 111.81, minor damage to head PURPLE DIVISION CAGE MATCH The Mastodon (2-8, OVR 408) vs. Jack "Classic" Braddock (6-4, OVR 428) Leading up to the show, a surprisingly large number of fans in the RRW Forums held an impromptu contest to create unofficial entrance themes for the RRW roster (since RRW is rather poor, they haven’t been able to get licensed or original music to use for their wrestlers’ entrance themes). The overwhelming favorite, and one that was rumored to come from the man himself, was a parody of The Beatles’ “Let It Be.” He held true to the song on this night. Braddock hit a Spinning Backfist and Jack Attack late in the match, weathered the storm of the adrenaline rush from Mastodon that followed, and soon after that hit another Jack Attack. With Mastodon down, Braddock climbed up the cage wall, and sat atop the cage for a moment before his bass voice, which could hardly carry a tune, called out to the arena as he made his way down the cage wall on the outside for his seventh win of the season. ”When I find myself in times of trouble, Marciano comes to me. She was just too overmatched, though, as Heartilly picks up the win in a near-squash match and maintains his lead in the Blue Division in an anticlimactic bout, with a rematch against Hailey Carmichael on the docket for next week to determine the Blue Division leader. Ouilette spent most of the match failing to get Otto off his feet, and the one time he managed to dodge an elbow drop to get the big man off his feet, Ouilette could not capitalize with Le Petit Mort. von Schwarz would miss Gute Nacht, but went to a move we haven’t seen from him this season—a corner avalanche. Coming from a guy who stands seven feet tall and weighs north of 400 pounds, it was enough to keep Ouilette down for the three-second pin. Otto von Schwarz (7-4) def. Jean-Paul Ouilette (3-8) via Pinfall (Big Man Avalanche) in 11:49. Anderson had the early advantage, and looked to maybe get her second consecutive win, but missing an Andersault would spell the beginning of the end. A pair of Tartan Effects preceded a Scotland Destroyer, and Anderson found herself at the point where she would be five matches behind whomever the division leader in the Yellow Division at the end of the night with five weeks to go, effectively ending her chances at a playoff berth and any chance at breaking an even record for the season. Brian Blackfield (6-5) def. Elyssa Anderson (3-8) via Pinfall (Scotland Destroyer) in 17:55. Rating: ** Changes for Brian Blackfield: OVR + 4.42, XP + 488.60, minor damage to head Changes for Elyssa Anderson: OVR -0.08, XP + 122.15, moderate damage to head PURPLE DIVISION Diamond Steel (7-3, OVR 427) vs. Vladimir Chavinski (5-5, OVR 419) It was this match that convinced the author that Maven Deltzer must have been drunk, or impaired, or something. Steel threw everything she had at Chavinski, starting with a Goal Line Stand. She went to whip Chavinski into the corner, but he reversed and the ref was taken out in the process. A little bit of back and forth followed, until Steel hit an All Out Blitz and went for the cover as the ref finally recovered. She didn’t wait long enough for the ref to recover, as a slow count let Vladimir escape at two. Barely a minute later, she hit a second All Out Blitz. Chavinski again escaped at two. So she hit a third one, and again Chavinski kicked out of the finisher at two and a half. The fourth one, though, finally did the trick. Steel picked up a hard-fought win, and while the audience on TV enjoyed this match, critics rated it very poorly for what it contained. Diamond Steel (8-3) def. Vladimir Chavinski (5-6) via Pinfall (All Out Blitz) in 18:48. Gross had the clear advantage and was in firm control throughout, until he got too cocky for his own good and did one taunt too many. Stevens would manage to slowly claw back into the match, helped along by the ref being taken out from a reversed irish whip. Gross hit a Kneel Before God, but couldn’t capitalize on that and fell victim to a Maple Leaf Meltdown right as the ref began to come back to his senses. However, if what seemed like a broken record moment of the night, Gross kicked out of the slow count at two and a half. From there, Gross would get back in control, hit his usual combination of Kneel Before God leading into Come to Jesus, and the Reverend continues to lead the Black Division with his eighth win of the season. Reverend Johnny Gross (8-3) def. Terrance Stevens (6-5) via Submission (Come to Jesus) in 17:09. Rating: ** Changes for Reverend Johnny Gross: OVR + 4.37, XP + 488.23, minor damage to head Changes for Terrance Stevens: OVR -0.08, XP + 122.06, minor damage to head and body Glenn Knight (8-2, OVR 434) vs. Blood River (5-5, OVR 422) This match wasn’t very exciting, just a standard match that fills time on any wrestling card across the globe. River had a chance near the end, but failed to capitalize. Knight wouldn’t fail. The Promise was kept once again, and Knight moved to nine wins on the season and continues to put pressure on Lord Robert Abernathy to win in order to keep his division lead. Glenn Knight (9-2) def. Blood River (5-6) via Pinfall (The Promise) in 12:32. Rating: ** Changes for Glenn Knight: OVR + 4.11, XP + 486.02, minor damage to head Changes for Blood River: OVR -0.07, XP + 121.50, minor damage to head HARDCORE MATCH The Siberian Nightmare (3-7, OVR 424) vs. Brandy McDonald (8-2, OVR 431) Despite the overwhelming size difference in this match, the smart money coming in was on McDonald, as she had the record to back it up. This was an even contest that stayed within the confines of the ring for the first nine minutes, but when McDonald was driven outside by a high knee to the back, things turned violent in a hurry. Nightmare was the first to introduce weapons into the match, hitting Brandy with a face-first powerbomb onto a chair and followed that up with a DDT through a table. She was still too strong to be pinned at this point, though, so Nightmare moved the chair into position to look for a Siberian Avalanche onto said chair, but McDonald was having none of it. A couple of broken tables later, McDonald finally got Nightmare into position to hit a Brandy With a Twist onto a steel chair, and with a slightly fast count from the ref got the pinfall on the outside of the ring to keep her conference-wide lead intact. Brandy McDonald (9-2) def. The Siberian Nightmare (3-8) via Pinfall (Brandy With a Twist onto a chair) in 13:43. Rating: ** Changes for Brandy McDonald: OVR + 4.18, XP + 486.58, minor damage to head Changes for The Siberian Nightmare: OVR -0.07, XP + 121.65, minor damage to head ORANGE DIVISION Sterling Silver (3-7, OVR 416) vs. Pulsar (8-2, OVR 443) Despite this match looking like it was played in fast forward compared to the previous match, it too suffered at the hands of the critics who thought this wasn’t quite as good as it should be. Neither wrestler got a sustained offensive run going for most of the bout, trading moves in sets of two or three for the most part with a liberal sprinkling of counters and misses throughout. In the end, to the surprise of most, it was Sterling Silver who managed the only decent offensive spurt of the match, controlling the last ninety seconds, including an On Wings of Silver, to score the upset and create a logjam atop the Wrestlehut Conference, with three division leaders now sitting tied with each other. Sterling Silver (4-7) def. Pulsar (8-3) via Pinfall (On Wings of Silver) in 11:26. Rating: ** Changes for Sterling Silver: OVR + 4.05, XP + 485.49, minor damage to head Changes for Pulsar: OVR -0.07, XP + 121.37, minor damage to head and body Jun Onoo (4-6, OVR 423) vs. Lord Robert Abernathy (9-1, OVR 443) Abernathy came into this match needing a win to stay ahead of Glenn Knight in the Green Division, as Knight held the head-to-head tiebreaker that was Abernathy’s only loss of the season back in week 2. It was Onoo who started the match out with a string of offense that put Abernathy on his heels early, forcing the nobleman to play defense for several minutes before a missed knife edge chop give Abernathy the opening he needed. Abernathy would control the next few minutes, though he would have been better-advised to not attempt his British Suplexes on a man of Onoo’s size. Nor should he have attempted Shatterfall, as Onoo broke the attempt by simply being dead weight and falling on top of Abernathy to score a two count. Onoo would attempt Lasting Agony, only for Abernathy to wriggle free and go for Shatterfall again…but this time Onoo landed flush enough on Abernathy to drive the wind from the nobleman, and score the shock pin off a countered finisher. In just three seconds, a new leader was made in both the Wrestlehut conference and Green Division for the first time since the earliest parts of the season. Jun Onoo (5-6) def. Lord Robert Abernathy (9-2) via Pinfall (countered Shatterfall) in 14:42. Rating: ** Changes for Jun Onoo: OVR + 4.23, XP + 487.06, minor damage to head Changes for Lord Robert Abernathy: OVR -0.07, XP + 121.76, minor damage to head YELLOW DIVISION Markus Clay (7-3, OVR 430) vs. Yoshii Nakamatsu (7-3, OVR 433) The main event of the night carried huge implications on the playoff hunt. If Clay won, he’d sweep the season series with Nakamatsu and give himself the primary tiebreaker against Yoshii going forward. If Nakamatsu won, the season series would be split and it would open the division up for an exciting finish over the next five weeks, as average time of victory would determine the tiebreaker should it be necessary. Plus, whoever won would be the outright Yellow Division leader at 8-3 and find himself sitting at second in the Ringsports Conference playoff standings. So it was fitting that this ended up being the primary contender to the Match of the Night held earlier on. There was no real “feeling out” process here as both men came out from their corners with fists flying. Clay controlled the early part of the match, setting the pace with his customary high-speed offense and limiting any chances he would take in his offense. An elbow drop that took about a half-second too long to deliver would allow Nakamatsu back into the match, who slowed the pace down and methodically worked on the head and neck of Clay. Each would cede control to the other a couple of times in this match, and it was Clay who went to his big gun first, the Johannesburg Express. Nakamatsu would roll out of the way just before impact, and garner a two-count on the follow-up cover. It was also the last opening Yoshii would need, as a minute later he connected with a Nakamatsu Driver in the center of the ring, and three seconds later the match, and show, would end with a new Yellow Division leader. ROWDY RINGSPORTS WRESTLING: SEASON ONE, WEEK TWELVE Live from an empty RRW Arena in Kansas City, Missouri! Diego Rodriguez (3-8, OVR 415) vs. The Mastodon (2-9, OVR 409) This turned out to be a very weak opening match. The only thing of note in all of this was the finish, as Diego Rodriguez debuted a new submission finisher that the announce team called “Discordant Melody,” which is a heel hook leg grapevine. It was potent enough to force Mastodon to tap in just under 15 minutes to get tonight’s festivities underway. Diego Rodriguez (4-8) def. The Mastodon (2-10) via Submission (Discordant Melody) in 14:45. Rating: * Changes for Diego Rodriguez: OVR + 2.99, XP + 446.49, no notable damage Changes for The Mastodon: OVR -0.91, XP + 111.62, minor damage to head Sven Ulafsson (4-7, OVR 424) vs. Erick Gibson (2-9, OVR 408) Nothing of interest happened in the second match, as well. At least this one was a little more entertaining and closer contested than the first bout of the evening. Gibson managed to get a foot on the ropes to avoid losing to Pure Power, but a second one delivered in the dead center of the ring would be enough to send Gibson to his tenth loss of the season, as Karen McClure left disgusted as soon as the final bell rang. Sven Ulafsson (5-7) def. Erick Gibson (2-10) via Pinfall (Pure Power) in 12:19. Rating: ** Changes for Sven Ulafsson: OVR + 4.10, XP + 485.91, minor damage to head Changes for Erick Gibson: OVR -0.07, XP + 103.26, minor damage to head ORANGE DIVISION El Tornado (3-8, OVR 420) vs. Sterling Silver (4-7, OVR 420) As people have come to expect from an Orange Division match, this was a rapid-fire match with counter after counter after counter. For the most part, it was even, though near the end Silver started to pull away with various DDTs and dropkicks, though she seemed hesitant to go for her finishing move. It took her a few more minutes before she was satisfied that Tornado was beaten down enough for her to go up to the top. She probably should have spent another minute making sure, though, as Tornado rolled out of the way of On Wings of Silver, put Silver in a La Magistral Cradle, and got the pin off the missed aerial maneuver. This was a match that Silver lost, not necessarily one that Tornado won, and the online reactions reflected this. El Tornado (4-8) def. Sterling Silver (4-8) via Pinfall (missed On Wings of Silver) in 15:12. Rating: * Changes for El Tornado: OVR + 3.01, XP + 446.69, minor damage to head and body Changes for Sterling Silver: OVR -0.91, XP + 111.67 minor damage to head Jean-Paul Ouilette (3-8, OVR 411) vs. Reverend Johnny Gross (8-3, OVR 428) For the first few minutes, it looked like this was going to be an utter squash. Gross was in control, barely letting Ouilette have a chance to execute any offense. Jean-Paul would get a chance to fight back in spurts, but his Fleur de Lis swinging neckbreaker would be the highlight of Ouilette’s night. Gross would recover from that and never look back, eventually making the Frenchman tap out to move to 9-3 and all but officially locking up the Black Division title and thus a spot in the playoffs. Reverend Johnny Gross (9-3) def. Jean-Paul Ouilette (3-9) via Submission (Come to Jesus) in 13:00. Rating: * Changes for Reverend Johnny Gross: OVR + 2.92, XP + 445.72, no notable damage Changes for Jean-Paul Ouilette: OVR -0.89, XP + 94.72, minor damage to head The Siberian Nightmare (3-8, OVR 424) vs. Terrance Stevens (6-5, OVR 424) Nothing more than a lengthy squash match. Stevens was never in danger of losing this one, and a Maple Leaf Meltdown ensured the matter. Stevens stays relevant in the White Division hunt with the win, while Nightmare is eliminated from the Red Division chase should Otto von Schwarz lose later on tonight. Terrance Stevens (7-5) def. The Siberian Nightmare (3-9) via Pinfall (Maple Leaf Meltdown) in 13:44. Rating: * Changes for Terrance Stevens: OVR + 2.95, XP + 446.04, no notable damage Changes for The Siberian Nightmare: OVR -0.90, XP + 111.51, minor damage to head Jun Onoo (5-6, OVR 427) vs. Eugene Nagata (7-4, OVR 422)This was a closer match than the critics would have you believe. Onoo had the advantage for a fair portion, though Nagata fought back in bits and pieces to keep it from being a runaway squash match. The last two minutes are what drew the critics’ ire. Nagata got out of an IMPACT Driver, and attempted the following in order: schoolboy roll up, running schoolboy roll up, hammerlock, cheating roll up, hammerlock, schoolboy roll up, running cheating roll up, running schoolboy roll up, a punch, and a low blow. The low blow actually kept Onoo down for the pin, and many feel that Nagata stole this one and didn’t deserve the win. However, the record books will only state that on this night, Nagata beat Onoo. Eugene Nagata (8-4) def. Jun Onoo (5-7) via Pinfall (Low Blow) in 16:01. Rating: * Changes for Eugene Nagata: OVR + 3.04, XP + 379.99, minor damage to head Changes for Jun Onoo: OVR -0.92, XP + 111.76, no notable damage Daniel Simmons (5-6, OVR 430) vs. Blood River (5-6, OVR 422) Tess Bradenbury: Coming up next is a must-win for both men if they want any hope at keeping a playoff ream alive. Johnny Tyler: Oh, for the love of…really, Tess? You could say that for like two-thirds of the roster at this point! Tess Bradenbury: As I was about to say before I got interrupted…with Reverend Gross winning earlier in the night, It falls to Blood River to essentially run the table if he hopes to keep Gross from clinching the Black Division title as early as next week. He’s going to need help from everyone facing Gross, naturally, but mathematically he’s still alive. Johnny Tyler: Unlike Simmons. Not in that division! Tess Bradenbury: At this moment, Johnny, Simmons is still alive. He needs to win every match, and needs both Knight and Abernathy to lose every match until week 16, when they face each other for the second time this season. That would put Simmons and either Knight or Abernathy at 10-6, and then it comes down to tiebreakers. Johnny Tyler: He’d have a better chance of being struck by lightning and emerging uninjured from it. It’s not happening. Tess Bradenbury: Be that as it may, Johnny, it’s still something that could happen, and that’s why we’re still here to watch how things play out. Fairly even match, Sin looked like a legitimate threat in this one as she had McDonald worn down enough to attempt her finisher first. She wouldn’t relinquish control the rest of the match and it only took her a further ninety seconds to connect with a Brandy With a Twist to maintain a two-match lead in the White Division over Eugene Nagata. Despite this, Anderson couldn’t string more than three or four moves together at a time without Clay retaliating, so it only a matter of time before she was worn down. A spear ended Anderson’s hopes for either a Yellow Division title or even a wild card berth, as the loss mathematically eliminated her from contention. Markus Clay (8-4) def. Elyssa Anderson (3-9) via Pinfall (Spear) in 17:22. The only reason it didn’t come across as a stinker of a match is the determination Rose had in making certain she wouldn’t get caught in the Nakamatsu Driver, blocking it on no fewer than four occasions. The same could not be said for the charging DEVASTATION Knee strike, though. The first one busted Rose up, the second and third one made it worse, and a DDT that followed was enough for the official to call off the match for fear of Rose’s safety. Nakamatsu maintains his Yellow Division lead with his RRW-leading third blood stoppage win of the season, and the loss officially puts Indigo Rose out of the playoff hunt. Yoshii Nakamatsu (9-3) def. Indigo Rose (3-9) via Blood Stoppage (DDT) in 13:10. Knight came in with the Green Division lead, and a win would keep him in first place in the Wrestlehut Conference. The way the match played out, you’d think the roles were reversed. Anarchy had an early advantage, but couldn’t capitalize on it and let a golden opportunity for a huge win slip away. Knight delivered on The Promise, joining Brandy McDonald in the ten-win club for the season and putting Daniel Simmons’ chances of a division title on life support. Glenn Knight (10-2) def. Heartilly won their earlier contest in the season; a second win would give him the decided tiebreaker over Hailey for the remainder of the season, while a Carmichael victory would give her the outright lead and force the tiebreaker to go to average time of victory (which Heartilly would currently have regardless). So basically, Hailey needed this win just a little more than Lance. She didn’t wrestle like it, though. In fact, Leslie Burrell showed more urgency than Carmichael did, running interference in the first minutes and summarily getting ejected from ringside. Carmichael would get a bit of offense in after this, as if her manager’s ejection was a wake-up call, but it came too late and too infrequently. Heartilly had far more offense in the contest and it led to a Hellacious Leglock that Carmichael refused to tap out to and instead let herself pass out. Heartilly now finds himself in the driver’s seat in the Blue Division, with the outright lead and the tiebreaker over his closest competitor. Lance Heartilly (8-4) def. Hailey Carmichael (7-5) via Submission (Hellacious Leglock) in 15:50. This would be your standard average match, with no hardcore shenanigans ensuing aside from the perfectly legal face rakes and eye pokes. Steel pulled away in the middle portion of the bout and was able to hold off a comeback from Pulsar in the waning minutes. An All Out Blitz sealed the victory for Steel a dozen minutes in, keeping the Orange Division and Purple Division races close with only one win separating the top two in both divisions. Diamond Steel (9-3) def. Pulsar (8-4) via Pinfall (All Out Blitz) in 12:11. Otto was guaranteed to remain the Red Division leader and in fourth place in the Ringsports Conference, while Abernathy would remain second in the Green Division thanks to losing the tiebreaker, and in the first wild card spot in the Wrestlehut Conference. Abernathy had a simple plan of attack coming into this contest: start the offense early, let the giant get angry and gas himself out, and take advantage while remaining in the ring and not letting the hardcore rules come into play. Sounds simple in the planning but was just a little more complicated in the execution of the plan. von Schwarz tried a late rally but too little too late, as he was just too worn out to put up much of a defense against God Save the Queen. The Green Division remains deadlocked, with Week 16’s clash between Knight and Abernathy looking like it will indeed be for the divisional title, while Otto now finds himself still two matches ahead of Onoo and Ulafsson in the Red Division as week twelve comes to a close. So, this week’s show is being pushed back a week due to my computer being a dick and not running properly. I have all of the relevant files for RRW saved on a couple different flash drives as backups, so that’s not a foreseeable issue. It’s just the tablet randomly force closing the game midway through matches that is causing me problems. Taking the weekend to work on fixing the problem and making sure we’re good to go for the rest of the season.

Update on the last update: Spent the weekend trying to fix the tablet without resorting to factory default, nothing worked. Finally broke down and reset to default and moved all the assorted files I needed back onto it. Had to wait a bit to get the whole eLicense thing that Grey Dog Software uses sorted out (protip: if you’re going to invest in the actual game and not the demo, get it on Steam; my copy was a launch week copy so I’m a bit stubborn about not paying for it twice). But things appear to be working fine at the moment as I’m four matches deep into week 13 and no crashing or other major errors. Week 13 will be posted when it gets done, no later than May 25 (though possibly earlier), and regular schedule resumes after with Week 14 falling on June 1, and the playoffs scheduled to end on June 22-25 (which will be a multiple-part post as all eleven postseason matches will be written in Match of the Night format, with one round of matches per day). If there is still interest for a second season, it would be starting in mid-July to allow for new sign-ups, database maintenance and administrative cleanup on my end, and other such issues. I have a couple backup characters (in addition to the four that were dropped in the beginning) I may rotate in to replace some of the underperforming ones, in order to keep things fresh. Any new players would be coming in with the same base stats and XP as our current players did at the start of this season, but don’t think that’s a cause to lose all your matches though. One current goon player has only sent in one training PM all season and has one of the better records in RRW, so stats aren’t the main factor to success; they just help sometimes. Edited to add: Because I’m a bit scatterbrained today, I forgot to specifically mention one part of the database maintenance. At the end of the season, anyone who did not give me a specific moveset for their characters (so, everyone) will have their automatically formed movesets redone to account for the stat increases made over the season. So technical workers may find new holds and submissions in their arsenals for season two, aerial workers may have more top rope and second rope options to work with, and brawlers may have more striking and throwing options. Any goon characters will have these updated movesets sent to their handlers for final clearance before being made official (so, for instance, Jack Braddock can get rid of a full nelson or a spinning toe hold that doesn’t fit with the striking mentality). I'd be in for a second season. I was going to ask this between seasons, but have you considered moving the thread to Fight Island for next season? I know the initial pitch came from there (since I found it through your post thee) but I think that you might be able to get more interested bodies over there.
