If the story is being told entirely through small artifacts and details, a player is only going to be able to put together a vague outline of events. When the scope of the story is just small, like some minor family drama, what else is there to think about? It's better in Dark Souls because the outline of events doesn't really matter, they're just a backdrop to a more tangible theme of decline you experience by walking around a crumbling expansive world.

seemed to me in retrospect that the corbyn project was essentially cooked when he was sabotaged in 2017 and unable to win the election. after that election, there was daylight for remain liberals to harden their position and make it impossible for corbyn to thread the needle without the rupture of the party that happened. similar to how we in the USA are basically living in the shadow of the failure of first 2 years of the Obama presidency. everything post 2009-2010 is a reflection of the decisions made in those years.

the whole carter-felix thing started months ago because carter follow-policed felix because some guy Felix follows was giving lee poo poo for being a rape victim, and Felix decided to try and be funny about it instead of just loving ignore it. idk, Carter might be extremely cringey on Twitter and probably should stop posting forever, but by any sane metric he also done a lot more material work for socialism as a political force than felix has, so maybe felix would be better helped by not trying to get sick dunks
