I haven't followed the Qanon thread in a long time. Time travel is now part of the canon? Or at least necessary to explain the powers that Q or Trump have?

Not even joking, if someone I knew started believing in time travel poo poo, I'd seriously consider it a possible sign of schizophrenia or something similar.
That tends to show up between 20 and 30 in women, at least according to the internet.

Satanic baby cannibals aren't real. They weren't real in the 1980s and they aren't real now. A lot of people wish they were, because at least then they know they're better than Satanic baby cannibals. Some people take advantage of that by selling their completely factual memoir "I Was a Satanic Baby Cannibal" for three easy payments of $29.99, including three full-color fold-out charts to collect and covet!

If you want to feel better about yourself, just believing in the right things isn't going to be enough, because whatever you believe you're still actually doing the same things you did yesterday. Maybe volunteer at/donate to a local food bank, depending on your current employment/cash flow situation. Lord knows they need it.

I'd trade it all for just a little more.

I don't think they believe they are part of the greatest generation, they just don't understand it.

A lot of olds just think the respect is due to age. You get old, you're wise and respected and don't need to learn new things or back up any of your beliefs with fact. In fairness, I think that was pretty much how it was in the past. Whether it was your 40 year career where you were an expert on the same thing you'd been doing the same way for decades, or at home where you would get a call once a week from a youngster asking how long to boil an egg.

Now by the time you retired you were useless the last 5 years because you refused to learn excel, and your grand kids can just ask siri how long to boil an egg. What else to do besides watch fox news all day?

• Russians influencing our elections are bad, but illegal Mexicans voting in our elections are good.

• It was cool for Joe Biden to "blackmail" the President of Ukraine, but it’s an impeachable offense if Donald Trump inquires about it.

• Twenty is too young to drink a beer, but eighteen is old enough to vote.

• Sexualizing children is bad, but 11-year-old drag queens are good.

• Illegals aren't required to show ID, but citizens can't buy cough medicine without it.

• Citizens are fined if they don’t buy their own health insurance, and then they are forced to buy it for illegals.

• People who have never owned slaves should pay slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves.

• Inflammatory rhetoric is outrageous, but harassing people in restaurants is virtuous.

• People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for useless degrees

• Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio are welcome, but you’d better be able to prove your dog is vaccinated.

• Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate Central-American gang-banger who jumps the southern fence is welcome.

• $5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care for illegals is not.

• If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free.

• Politicians who say that the President is not above the law put illegal immigrants and themselves above the law.

• People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President.

• Illegals don’t pay taxes, but they get tax refunds.

• We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, and it still seems like a great plan to some.

• Voter suppression is bad, but not allowing the President to be on the ballot is good.

• Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now.

• Criminals are catch-and-released to hurt more people, but stopping them is bad because it's a violation of THEIR rights.

I have never really heard any music that is sexist or racist (against women/black people, that is). If you mean sexist against men and racist against white people, then this is fairly known and has been since 1960 with the entire Marxist, anti-war rock bands and all the rest of it. A lot of music in many genres are anti-Western to the core (mostly punk rock, hard rock, and otherwise). But you can see a massive anti-Western push from the likes of Beyonce over the last few years. Of course, most music since 1960 has also been deeply anti-God, anti-capitalism, anti-Church, and anti-monotheism, to say the least.

At least, that's mostly what I see and know of with regards to a lot of music (very popular music, as well) since 1960 in the West.

Imagine being so stupid you put your dog whistle (western) in the same paragraph as what it is a dog whistle for (white people). JFC.

Family member quoting from a website:

quote:

First, let me set the scene—very briefly, since I have already explored this territory in some detail before. The coronavirus pandemic, as an engineered irrational, hysterical response to a relatively mild flu-like virus, did not lead to economic collapse; it didn’t even trigger it. What it did is mask it. The phenomenon that caused the collapse is called Peak Oil.

quote:

In January of 2020, after a lag time of six months, the global economy was ready to keel over. This event would have produced devastating political consequences were it not for a serendipitous event which allowed governments all over the world to shout “Look, a squirrel!” causing everyone to say “What squirrel?” while looking around in confusion. Instead of being forced to accept responsibility for an economic collapse over which they had no control, they opted to shut down air travel, close national borders, impose shutdowns, lock-downs and curfews, and take other economically destructive measures, in effect running ahead of the steamroller of economic collapse instead of just letting it roll over them.

quote:

And so it may very well turn out that some of the savvier political leaders will seize this opportunity, ride the crest of popular anger once the pandemic is largely over and the economic devastation becomes plain to see, and declare the WHO, along with all those who sail in her, a terrorist organization. The WHO is a consortium of financial interests that control big pharmaceutical companies and is supported in large measure by one particularly odious oligarch—Bill Gates of Microsoft. To me, Gates is living proof that an idiot can be evil.

I gotta say, I knew it would be a conspiracy of some sort but peak oil? Points for originality!

This is my grandmother, who my wife and I live with and take care of, sending me this poo poo.

When she's not forwarding this garbage from god knows where, she's on right wing facebook pages or melting her brain with fox news.

She keeps telling me that she wants to leave us with a better world when she dies while at the same time angry that we're not opening up because of the China Hoax. I'm really trying to prevent her from becoming another schadenfreude story but I keep catching her leaving the house with her equally insane sister.

She lives in a separate, insane, world. Just like my brainwashed QAnon mom and stepdad.

It really makes me wonder how we can move forward as a society when some people are so far gone. A world which promotes equality while providing for everyone's needs would literally be hell for them.

Every time they say something like this, make them go wash their hands. Forcibly, if needed. Studies have shown simply washing one's hands can reduce bigoted thoughts.
