I was finally able to get my surgery rescheduled to fix my ruptured bicep. The surgery isn't for another three weeks but they are requiring me to go to my primary care doc next week to get a COVID test. The test is on the 27th of May and the surgery is on the 8th of June. I understand the thought behind requiring the test but that's just shy of two weeks before the surgery, which is a lot of time to go from negative to positive.

You have your traditional fascists who want a big ol white state, you have your business type dudes who want dumb rear end suburban pleasures and low taxes and realize they benefit immensely from the status quo, and you have your cult rapist crowd who thinks there's no authority higher than your literal father or the sheriff who wants to decentralize into Jesus feudalism. All three love guns, rape, and hate women and minorities and are actively pursuing these goals together but can be distinguished by their views on the state.

Since it's a public health hazard I don't see why they don't arrest the owner, tell them to close it, fine them, and revoke their business license. I mean Jesus, what kind of leftists are you? They shut down culturally left spaces in NYC for whatever drat reason they feel like, in the middle of a pandemic all of a sudden chuds putting literally thousands of people at risk so they can get swol brah is not a good reason for the police to take action?

peepeepants posted:ok? Doesn't it make more sense to fine the business every day they are open and suspend their business license a better way of handling this? not if you want to control the spread of the infection but since no one is actually trying to loving do that who knows Chicago is supposed to be one of the most draconian places and has settled on saying they would fine unnamed churches that keep holding services. it's a god drat joke the only good thing the stay at home order is doing at this point is keeping large office environments from reopening, every other vector (restaurants, bars, gyms) is roaring away at full capacity across the country. granted, that's because a ton of people are staying home to be safe anyways but that won't change regardless of the order or lack thereof

Most senior members are already doing this for the most part where I'm working. The director and each of the divisions supervisors are in their offices. Other tenant orgs are also doing this, with the exception of emergency services and ptms which are mostly staffed with everyone because of the nature of their work. I know the senior IT guy at the garrison side is going to his office and is making my life a little bit easier. We still haven't heard anything from our director on when we are going back to the office. Our building was in the middle of some extremely delayed repairs and modernization and we were working in trailers while they got done. He's made it clear we aren't going to be working in those trailers and if we cant occupy the building we'll be working remotely way after the call to go back is issued to everyone else.
