And it also means the bad people try to push that narrative onto any case they can, so they'll always be there I don't know what the deal is with the police, they're not exactly known for taking sexual abuse massively seriously anyway, and they're probably less likely to listen to claims about grooming because they probably get them non-stop from the Legitimate Concerns people Hopefully someone knows who you could contact, but maybe some legal advice would be a good idea, just because they'd have a better idea of how to push the cops into treating it seriously. Maybe you could contact the agencies that specifically deal with child abuse (if that applies to your cousin)? Or contact a charity that deals with sexual abuse, even just so they can point you in the right direction Sorry if that's unhelpful or feels too negative, it's just such a politicised topic that I feel like you and the situation might end up getting used when you really just want the people who did it held to account. I hope you and your family are ok anyway

Yeah it's all so complicated with this and then there is the standard misinformation spreading everywhere on the back of it too. Unfortunately the police have actually remanded my cousin in custody until a court appearance on June 19th for 'peverting the course of justice' by 'falsely accusing persons of rape' despite the fact she was beaten so badly she was in intensive care and her attackers tried to cut a finger and a breast off. At least her attackers can't get to her in the meantime I suppose. Maggie Oliver, the detective who was whistleblower on the Rochdale cases is getting involved which seems to be a good thing though it'll probably turn out she believes in muslamic ray guns or something.

loving hell that's horrific  And more proof that the police care more about false reporting of rape than they do about actual rape. If there's any intersectional feminist groups in the area (that seems to be the going searchable term to differentiate them from TERFs and groups that care more about the guardian) then that might be a good start.
