IMDb has such a lovely UI that I’ve avoided ever making an account for it (and now they practically place a gun to your head to make you), impressed to see that teenagers have more stomach for a 2005 Web 2.0 experience than I do.

This HBO Max rollout is a weird mess. I looked up what the difference between HBO, HBO Go, HBO Now and HBO Max are, so I'm good there, got an email from Hulu saying that my HBO Now sub has been automatically upgraded to HBO Max (atm the only way to see HBO Max content on a Roku device), but it looks like the extent of my upgrade is that they changed the icon under Premium Add-ons to the new Max branded one. Nothing that was supposed to be there day one is there. Like, supposedly all Turner Media networks' content should be available and it's definitely not. Also, if it was available would I find it under the Hulu networks guide, or the HBO Max icon in the Premium Add-ons subsection? Or would I need to know it was there and do a search for the exact show or movie? The future of accessing streaming media feels like it was brainstormed by Microsoft ui designers 25 years ago. E: so apparently my Hulu account logs in into the Max app and site, though it doesn't seem like changing the password on one site changes the password on the other (had to use the change password link to get into Max for the first time). E2: speaking of poo poo ui, in the last 40 minutes the entire layout of Hulu changed, making everything uglier and blockier. Yeah, lying on anonymous surveys is ingrained early behaviour Some are saying a lot are moms who watch kids movies, but c'mon, sure as hell not like dudes don't watch cartoon movies and become disproportionately defensive of them I'm kinda surprised in retrospect that Harry Potter is so popular among women in particular, back in the day it seemed pretty universally popular. Is it because of the fanfiction scene? That men had a wider variety of YA-adjacent stuff aimed towards them to move on to?
