My work area has two confirmed cases with another one presumed. The entire plant has a couple dozen combined at the very least with 2 fatalities. At least I can take some solace that my particular crew is taking this seriously and all wear masks and gloves. Unfortunately the job involves moving around to different tasks and not everyone does.

A large number of people can quietly accept bombing a bunch of brown people in a far off country, having tens of thousands of people die every year from lack of health insurance, or even systemic racism and police brutality, because it doesn't affect them. Once the status quo breaks down and poo poo actually starts to affect them, they'll start to realize things are hosed, and push for change. People will gravitate towards socialism or towards fascism, and that's when we have to be there, waiting for them. The far right knows this, and will be there too. Our beacon has to burn brighter.
