Anxious to see what my son will say to me. (self.Bitcoin) submitted 19 hours ago by inhodel BTC supporter here since 2014. When my son was 1 year old back in late 2016, I used up all his birthday money to buy bitcoin for him. Put it on a ledger and kept it away since. My wife told me to sell at $5000, at $10000 and $18000, but i hold it ever since, now she already know I will keep my promise to just give it to him when it is time (probably not at 18, because most youngsters are still retarded at that age) Anyway, I am so anxious to see his reaction when I tell him he has a certain amount of btc and that his 'old fashioned' dad was good for something :P I hope it will make him instantly financially stable/independent. Or maybe I will get to hear why I didn't sold at $18000 back in 2017! You should have listened to mum! MostBoringStan 50 points 19 hours ago Good plan to not give it to him at 18. While I was a mostly responsible 18 year old, I still would have wasted a bunch of money if I was handed tens of thousands of dollars. Maybe hold onto it until a point where he will want to buy a house and give it to him as a down payment. It could be a great thing for him if he thinks he can only afford to rent and then you can hand him a down payment for a house and now he can afford that mortgage. Mr-Sha256redditor for 2 months 3 points 15 hours ago It’s interesting to see this generational gifting of BTC become more prevalent. I think there will be a need in the near future for Bitcoin specialists to help estate planners securely leave BTC to heirs. I think companies like unchained-capital are starting to do this. Pretty exciting....anyway, good for you and your son! Doing a great thing 👍 castorfromtheva 15 points 19 hours ago You will go down in history as one of the greatest dads on earth. You are a true bitcoiner and I heavily doubt you and your family will ever regret your decisions. It's a pleasure hodling on with you and your son! trevandezz 2 points 4 hours ago I have some crypto set aside for my children and grandchildren. Modern day generational wealth plan unphuckable 1 point 6 hours ago You're a great father and had the foresight to give your child unprecedented opportunities that most people won't ever have. Stay strong. The right time to sell it is when you don't need to anymore. DracheTech11redditor for 4 weeks 1 point 5 hours ago I wouldn’t tell him until he needs to pay off his study or a house deposit. Then bammmm here’s a few bitcoins and he is really set for life. Make him learn about life first and the really meaning of money. Cointikkaredditor for 6 weeks 1 point 17 hours ago I guess financially stable would be the right statement for your son.

Would it be possible to design a computer that solely operated on code validated by the Bitcoin blockchain? If so, what are the implications of such a device? Would it make the PC safer to use? Is this already a thing? (self.Bitcoin) submitted 4 hours ago by jarrettwil BubblegumTitanium 4 points 4 hours ago Have you made a computer before? Like designed and manufactured a computer. jarrettwil[S] 0 points 3 hours ago I have not. I’m an attorney, not an engineer. I just thought it was an interesting idea. jarrettwil[S] 1 point 3 hours ago I was thinking of safety verification through blockchain consensus. Basically, the code of any program your computer uses is verified as safe via blockchain consensus before loading. Again, I’m not an engineer. Just a shower thought I had this morning. jarrettwil[S] [score hidden] an hour ago Yes! Code signing by consensus, or distributed authority, tracked on a decentralized ledger is exactly what I was thinking of. Thank you for helping me understand it.

did anything ever happen with that decentralised coding thing where they divided the work up so much that individuals would just be determining whether a bit was 1 or 0?

i forget what it was called and may not have looked it up anyway but i assume they never got the funding to hire a wiki designer for such an ambitious project.

The Crypto Company, a sports bra innovator turned blockchain pioneer (no, i'm not joking, that actually happened) has published its 2019 10-K. let's see how they've done during the past year! (amounts in dollars) I don't believe i've ever seen a "bank overdraft" line in a 10-K before. it's going to be a challenge to reverse the trend and make something of that remaining pocket cash. Maybe they can bring the bra folks back to work on some face masks.
