we had two local stores in my town and i have two vivid memories in each one. the bigger open plan store i was looking at the case for some zombie game or something that i found reall y scary while this song was playing on the radio

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC06Z6lCB_Q

i can never remember what game it was until i see the cover then i remember and forget again straight away.

the other memory was in the other smaller store which had a second floor with anime videos and i distinctly remember looking at this box

If that hand is the same size as my hand, it means the Game Gear Mini is about 15-20% smaller than a credit card. Imagine trying to play a game on a system that small, with a screen that small, with those two buttons right next to each other like that

Of course not, big Sega news would be announcing a rerelease of a non-micro Game Gear.

Comparing the size of the thumb to the D-Pad on the Game Gear and how my thumb is on the Famicom Mini D-Pad this is going to be really challenging to use in all likelihood (the Famicom Mini control is right at the limit at what I would consider remotely usable and this seems to be smaller than that).

$50 to experience hand cramps and the gradual loss of your eyesight as you squint increasingly hard on the tiny screen.

Not a bad deal, TBH.

maybe they're going more for novelty impulse sales, and so needed it to be as cheap as possible, hence the thumbnail sized screen
