Ras Het posted:Isn't this just video game techno I admit that I'm not the greatest at classifying the various genres of EDM, but I'd argue no. Techno to me has a progression of layers -- you start with a simple loop and add more and more stuff on top of it, then start iterating some of the layers through variations. You also have a selection of non-percussive instruments -- they may be used repetitively, but they're still melodic and derived from real-world instruments that don't involve striking a sounding body. Granted that the piece I linked has a few odd non-percussive sounds, but the vast majority of it is percussion. signalnoise's description of a drum line is a good one, I think. Originally I'd been searching for drum solos when looking for more music like that, but that wasn't quite right -- your typical drum set has the wrong instruments, and drum solos aren't usually meant to stand on their own as a piece of music in themselves, but rather are a break in the song so the drummer can freestyle for a bit. Consequently they usually lack some degree of structure.

What else am I looking for if I stumbled across Allie X - Cape God in some Spotify playlist yesterday and can't stop listening to it? Include the most basic of answers, like I know absolutely nothing about this genre, cause I don't.

Recommend me music like Two Feet’s “Go F*ck Yourself”. I cannot get enough of sexy and bluesy electric guitar over hard bass drops. Video is time stamped below. https://youtu.be/T7K0pZ9tGi4?t=49 Problem: he’s listed as “electronic” but that doesn’t help me find sounds similar to him. Problem 2: resources like Spotify recommend very different sounding artists when I try and find similar sounding musicians also! recommend me basically any contemporary sexy electric blues guitar with that dark bass. If a stripper would dance to it or Two Feet would gently caress to it, please recommend! I’ve been struggling to find contemporary artists of this sound.

Probably a slightly different question than usual but I listened to this album a couple days ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aaa5OVHK5ws and now I'm pretty obsessed with this type of music. My question is, where can I legally purchase this album and others like it(in the US)? I can spend 60 bucks on amazon for an import CD but that's way too much. Also just other recs of albums of this type would be great.

Any album will do as they do one thing and have been doing it for decades, start from the beginning and then stop around the late 80s. I can do a more in depth answer when I'm not phone posting but in the meantime you can jump on this discord, it originated from "city pop" but covers a pretty much anything Japanese, including fusion from this era. You can have some luck on discogs, cdjapan is legit and reasonably affordable too. screaden fucked around with this message at 01:02 on May 25, 2020 |

yeah ok ok yeah posted:Future funk has fizzled out? Flamingosis just dropped Mood Provider vol. 2 two weeks ago. In terms of popularity. Two years ago in bandcamp the top sellers were all future funk, now it doesn't even have its own category on the drop down menu. If you search the top views of future funk on YouTube of the past year, only three videos break 100k (though granted one is over a million but it about to cross the one year mark).

Longshot that I'm gonna get what I'm after but I wanna try. I'm in love with "Body" by Julia Jacklin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktvJ2PiBgtQ Thing is, though, the rest of her catalog doesn't really scratch the same itch. The melancholy and the simple but emphasized beat make it a cool head-nodder. What else might give me the same vibe?
