I know Venezuela has been using Turkey as a sort of go between for years because there is a close relationship there, so Turkey is unlikely to just seize the gold on behalf of the the US like the UK did. The US is a little less likely to try to screw over Turkey since it's a NATO member Venezuela did try to launch their own cryptocurrency too, which I think is seeing some use domestically? it seemed a bit less dumb than regular crypto because it was backed by Venezuelan oil production. But that has of course collapsed, and all oil prices did later.
