Goons residing in Japan, maybe you can help me here. I bought some stuff from Nin-Nin and some eBay sellers like two weeks ago. One of them messaged me last week about cancelling the purchase because Japan Post refuses to ship it. I thought that was weird, especially now that most worldwide lockdowns are over, but okay, whatever. Now Nin-Nin sent me this message today: quote:Since April 2nd, Japan Post has unfortunately restricted their shipments to your country until further notice. It is no longer possible to ship your order through the Japan Post. So this is something that was decided back in April, but it's still a thing in the middle of June? This seems pretty drastic, especially considering it's not "poo poo is going to be slow" but instead "nope, we don't send ANYTHING now bugger off". Anyone has an idea how long this restriction is supposed to last? One thing I noticed is that the other eBay sellers have neither shipped nor canceled the purchases, so it's possible they are waiting to see if the situation changes, which does not bode well. Nin-Nin on the other hand just switched my order to be sent by Fedex (for free, nice fellows).

Countries that have implemented shipping restrictions haven't lifted them yet and likely won't for several more weeks if not months, so there's no defined ETA. They've been updating the list of countries they do and don't ship to pretty regularly on their site: https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/information/2020/0604_01_en.html Worth noting that for various countries, there are shipping options available, they just aren't SAL.
