Anyone successfully install the itch.io app? I've tried several times, and always get an http error. I have tried disabling my virus checker.

Tomorrow I'll have to check things manually and probably make a spreadsheet for myself. Everything I've downloaded is now added to my library and the stuff I haven't isn't. That might be a decent starting point. Go through your library and check off anything listed there.

Just bought the bundle (honestly, for Nuclear Throne and Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass) and wanna give a shout-out to Fortune-499, which is maybe four hours long tops but it's real charming while it lasts, I played it like a year+ ago and instantly recognized it when I saw it on the list. You're a fortune teller, and you work at a corporation that's being taken over by demons for unknown reasons, and you have to use your prediction powers to win games of rock-paper-scissors with a deck of cards that you can alter somewhat outside of battle.

For those wondering which two titles were added in the most recent move from 1427 to 1429 and not feeling like checking all 48 pages: it's Another Lost Phone and Luminous. ...or at least i'm pretty sure. Also, looks like the listed Lily Seed page is 404'ed.

Death and Taxes the grim reaper office job simulator is decent. 1-2 hours ish playtime. Are there any good RPGs in the bundle besides Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass which I've heard is, uh.... not exactly a lighthearted fun time?

Nothing on the same level but look at these: Possession Legend of the Lost Dragons Last Word Flamberge Hero Generations Emberlight Dawndusk Dream Sewer To Be A Herpwitch Pillars of Dust Catacombs Demon War Sorbetta Gravely in Debt It makes some sense that there aren't a lot of indie rpgs in this bundle as I think most of them are over in the rpgmaker scene

So far I've only played Jimmy explicitly because I know its going to be a gutpunch but there were others that I've posted for caught my eye I have low stats but my class is "Leader" so I recruited everyone I know to fight the Dark Lord In 'I Have Low Stats But My Class Is "Leader", So I Recruited Everyone I Know To Fight The Dark Lord', or 'IHLSBMCILSIREIKTFTDL' for short, you primarily play as the main character Josephine, fated to defeat the Dark Lord. However, as she's generally unskilled in combat, she recruits literally everyone in her hometown to fight enemies with a party of 99 characters! Underhero Underhero is a 2D side-scroller RPG adventure game with turn-based combat… without the turns! Precisely timed actions are your most powerful weapons. It tells an intriguing and mysterious story, full of silly characters brimming with personality, quirky dialogue, and lots of weird humor. Long Gone Days starts with you basically killing civilians in a false flag attack so it may be heavier than some folk are looking for. Granted the MC freaks the gently caress out when they realize that but still.

diaries of a spaceport janitor got added to the bundle and is probably the best representation of a bustling, alien-filled spaceport i've ever seen. comes complete with the drudgery of doing your menial labor job and finding the little bright moments amidst it all while you attempt to rid yourself of the cursed skull following you that screams at you occasionally. also includes a fun function of writing in the titular diary every night when you go to bed, seriously whatever you want to include. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOJxAzpdWS8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UyD1xtgBDU it came out around a time when i was still working a janitorial job, and something about it really clicked with me.

Man I bounced hard off of Pillars of Dust. https://retreauxgames.itch.io/pillars-of-dust The combat system is great, but there are two things that really ruin it for me. The dialog box sound The fact that there are so many "Secrets" in the game, and strong rewards for finding all of them in a chapter. There are no visual or audio clues for these secrets, so you need to mash your face into each and every identical barrel, each of which pops the annoying dialog box sound.

Simple concept - from specific starting points, create paths that follow numbers and you can only move to equal or bigger numbers - with great execution. Thanks, this was a good recommendation. There are probably too many "intro" puzzles and I'm not sure I agree with randomly throwing easy ones in the middle to remind you how to do them or something. But there are 500 puzzles and great execution, as you say. I've also been enjoyng Binaries, I might have to add it to Steam so I can configure controller support (or just get xpadder etc, thought I was past those).

Throwing my endorsement on the heap for Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor as well. I loved that game and the music kicks rear end too. It's a great oppressive wage slave simulator that subverts a lot of familiar stuff that you see in other adventure games. I like the way the city feels very alive and vibrant and full of swashbuckling stories... And you aren't part of any of it. You're too busy toiling endlessly, picking up trash and cleaning puke just to scrape by. I personally have never played anything quite like it. Thumbs up if you're game for something different.

If you google the problem there's a workaround - basically the installer doesn't see a 404 as something it should retry and just quits. I ended up downloading a zip file and that worked out, though I had to try the final installation a couple of times. I think the key is to just keep trying.
