Honestly I'd prefer for the game not to be successful just so it isn't taken as a positive case study for grinding your employees to dust during the production of a game.

That would introduce a meaningful moral choice to the game, of whether it's acceptable to buy the game and financially support terrible working practices that are killing the industry in the long term

IGN Japan only gives it a 7. Jeez, what a low score!

https://jp.ign.com/the-last-of-us-2/44388/review/the-last-of-us-part-ii

IGN Japan posted:

The Last of Us Part II follows in the footsteps of its predecessor in terms of overall game design. However, it is a work that leans toward "breakup" at various points in its story. It breaks with its predecessor to a catastrophic degree in the theme and structure of the story, and this is early in the game It is shown to the player in stages. I was surprised by this, but still thought Naughty Dog had a chance of winning there, so this decision I believed that he would have made the That decision can be summed up in the fact that it is Ellie's story, not Joel's. This is the source of everything that separates the previous game from this one.

But this decision, the further you go into the story, the more the game design, the themes, and the story It's supposed to bring up all sorts of problems. And in the end, all the problems remain unresolved and the game comes to an end. . Ellie's struggling screams are directly echoed like Naughty Dog's screams. Where do I take the player's emotions? Unfortunately, The Last of Us Part II doesn't surpass its predecessor, but lines up with it together. The result is so badly done that it is not even allowed to be

there should be a phrase for when you have to scroll down through almost 100 glowing reviews to find the two examples at the bottom that reinforce the thing you already think. maybe "apple grabbing" or something i dont know im not a word lawyer.

no, even if you dont like the game its not incompetent at all and all the acting is fantastic so its not going to be like watching a david decoteau film or anything

Personally I think it’s a good idea but I’d genuinely expect the “play it because it’s bad” aspect to backfire on you. Have you played the first one yet?

No, I'm too lazy to do that. I literally picked the review at the bottom of the scored reviews on this page.

https://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/the-last-of-us-part-ii/critic-reviews

But thanks for imagining me going through all that effort, such projection is very kind of you.

Not trying to reinforce anything, by the way. I just don't think the 10/10 reviews are usually worth much and that it's better to find ones that have something to actually say.

my guess is the dog belongs to laura baily character and you hang out with the dog at points in the game as a puppy and older and than when your ellie you bash its head in at some point. which makes laura baily go senator Armstrong on your rear end.

This is my guess to what it is. Do you all remember the MASH episode where Hawkeye was traumatized because they were having to be quiet on a bus, and a chicken wouldn't be quiet, so the woman had to suffocate the chicken to death? And it turned out that chicken was actually a baby and Hawkeye was so broken that he said it was a chicken because that hosed him up so bad?

Turns out that Ellie is gonna have a pet dog which they will show you flashbacks of happy fun times and bonding with it, and there will come a time where a group is hiding from clickers but the dog won't be quiet, so Ellie has to kill it to save the group. I guarantee this will be the case. And it'll be done in a lovely QTE and make you feel like poo poo for doing it.

Also keep in mind that Naughty Dog said that none of these reviews could mention important story elements, including that you're going to switch mid-game to play as Abby. Even though everyone knows this happens, no reviews can mention it, so all of these reviews are already hamstrung.

This is a misery porn simulator, not a game.

I'm basing it off of the reviews I've read on polygon and kotaku, both of which say it's miserable and not fun and makes you feel like poo poo. Kotaku literally calls it a misery simulator

Also yeah, I'm speculation on the situation surrounding an event, but that event is in the game.
