This paragraph from Dave's obituary of Mr. Wrestling 2 took me by surprise. Thank you for the responses. I've always been curious how much cost is involved in wrestler's gear - most of them seem to change them frequently so that expense has to add up after a while. That and lets be honest who here hasn't wanted a custom luchador mask at some point?

Mask looks great and that’s a great deal. I’ve paid more for not even a custom mask, it had horns and hair but it was still considerably more and that one looks awesome.

Found in an old WON: "main event was mask vs. mask with Fuerza Guerrera beating Gallo Tapado, who unmasked as Hernando Marques. Both bled and even though Tapado is a relic from the 70s, Guerrera worked great and carried it to a very good match. In the beginning, Tapado came out with a live chicken as a mascot similar to Koko Ware and Guerrera grabbed the chicken and started hitting Tapado with it. They could never get away with that in the U.S. and it was pretty bizarre to see it here. The bird was trying to fly away and Guerrera just kept pounding on Tapado with it. ***1/4"

Am I misremembering or wasn't there a thing where early in the newsletter days, predatory dudes were networking through the reader letters or something till Dave realized what was happening and shut it down? Also, I know some people liked it, but I'm glad to say Vinny's reactions to the Viking Raiders/Street Profits segment on B&V matched my own pretty closely.

Dave's stance seemed far more reasonable, if you are going to reshoot parts of a match and edit it together, including new sound editing it's very different from doing a match in one take.
