Recent events have made me think about the cartoons I watched as a kid, and how many were police themed. I think it's just one or two, and inspector gadget was one of them? Oh yeah and Swat Cats, lol. At least that part never came true and the police don't use fighter jets. Only tanks. Edit: Batman is pretty much a cop but worse though and I loved that show. Just look at this. Someone that has made this his living for decades vs some no no name they pretty much hired "off the street". The no name even with his not so good weak joke is still light years ahead of the decades pro - and frankly the no name is far far ahead of any other "conservative" leaning cartoonist on the planet, even one with two loving Pulitzers. Amazing.

The head writer for My Little Pony wasn’t allowed to have queen ponies because Hasbro said princess toys sell better. So that’s more capitalism being capitalism. sure, but that's just abstracting it up another level. princesses are a reliable seller because the fantasy of benevolent dictatorship models onto being a child extremely well.

Robocop isn't designed to be a better cop than a human cop. In fact, he's explicitly designed to be exactly as good a cop as a human cop. Robocop's design purpose is to be better at shooting people and harder to shoot back at.

Blaming the Wobblies for supporting striking workers and then getting shot by the police is one way to look at the Everett massacre, I guess. Back before the First Red Scare, America was terrified of the anarchist menace, and it's time we brought it back!

Garrison's rant posted:A $100 ticket for not waiting a full three seconds before turning right on red is absurd. Don’t they know how much that hurts the poor? A speeding ticket should be $20, not $200. Garrison drives like an idiot and gets caught on the regular and thinks that tickets for his lovely road use choices are the extent of police brutality. Pretty sure previous cartoons indicated that he also got a ticket for not wearing a seat belt. As long as personal cars are going to be a thing people have, police as road rule enforcers is one of the most justifiable roles that they can have. He is 100% on board with police killing black people. Somfin fucked around with this message at 11:34 on Jun 14, 2020 |

Inspector Gadget is kinda subversive actually. The Chief is an idiot, Gadget is an idiot, Capeman is an idiot, Dr Claw is an idiot too, and so are his sidekicks. Penny does all the actual work, and at the end it's Gadget who gets all the credit although he didn't even understand what was happening.
