Somehow it's getting an entire attraction at Disney and there's only one classic alien in the whole park as far as I know. BiggerBoat fucked around with this message at 22:56 on Jun 15, 2020 |

So would anyone be horribly upset if they upended what we know about the Aliens and show there is much more to them undiscovered? Have them be able to create eggs from people ala that cut scene, show that they can infect people ala the black spores from the prequels movies or behave in ways that doesn't always match how they were in Aliens, have them be more methodical and able to show that they can make use of the knowledge or memories of the people they came from which has only been hinted at. Basically not acidic ants needing their queen but something more.

If you believe someone might not be thinking about Aliens just tell them not to think about Aliens and then they won't be able to think about anything but Aliens

Having the progenitor of the aliens be a sad robot doesn't necessarily contradict anything but it recontextualises stuff in a lame way.

And also, the aliens can breathe fire, and there are a few of them that are ninjas. You'll need the double jump to beat them.

Saw it twice in the theater, haven't spent a second thinking about it in the years since.

Avatar isn't even "bad" in the conventional sense. It has a fine cast, stunning visual effects, and a workmanlike, comprehensible if formulaic story. It's just aggressively mediocre in every possible way like it was designed to slip frictionlessly out of the brain like cinematic olestra.
