do you live in a women's only dorm? did you invite joe biden into your dorm, knowing it would get him arrested when he reached the hallway?

I agree with Dante, that the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in a period of moral crisis maintain their neutrality.

If a guy followed me into my house and I wanted him there, I would not call the police on him. Even if I didn't want him in my house, there are a lot of steps between "woah I didn't mean for you to be here" and "officer I need you to arrest someone in my house".

This also applies if a guy followed someone else into my house, arguably there would be even more steps in that case.

I did in fact live in a women's only dorm. I lived on the floor with the Muslim students, so men were banned there at all times.

hell, i think it applies even if a guy entered a dorm with a 24/7 cop posted to it. that white guy biden couldn't manage to avoid getting arrested for ?mistakenly? entering a women's dorm is telling I think

and that's assuming he mistakenly entered the dorm. i really doubt that was the case back in 1963

did you invite men to your dorm for a bite? were some arrested by cops when they entered? I'm not sure where you're going with this argument, cause biden entered the dorm and got arrested. it's not like he could expect to eat in the dorm room of a woman at a women's-only dorm (supposedly merely entering the entrance got him arrested, if you're to be believed), and I really doubt the girls invited him in, since they'd probably be aware he could get arrested.

like what's the scenario here? biden opens the door, steps one foot in, and a cop tackles him?

in the 60s you could bring a loaded gun and five kinds of heroin into a dorm but if you enter one of the wrong gender identity the cops instantly leap out of the trash cans and open fire.

I got smuggled into the women's dorm at a small baptist (I think?) college when I was stationed at Ft. Bragg. I was allowed before 7pm with an escort but I was told in no uncertain terms that I couldn't be seen in the hallway after that because she could get in serious trouble and I could be arrested for trespassing.

Which sucked because we were drinking and I had to keep pissing in a Gatorade bottle in the corner and dumping it out the window.

This was about 10 years ago not the 1800s

Like, I'm sure you get in trouble with the school but 'arrested for trespassing' is a scare thing they say unless you're actively causing problems, it's a tool to deal with someone who's being a problem not the default reaction.

The fact that your friend (?) wanted you there is probably why you didn't get the cops called on you. As opposed to Joe Biden, who evidently was not wanted there but went in anyway.

I forget, is this a real story confirmed with reporting or more like the Corn Pop thing, where Biden is basically mashing up his real youth with things he saw in movies and his own habit of inflating his biography to show off?

You know, like his documented history of smearing an innocent man as a homicidal drunk driver to the point that Joe “I’m not sorry” Biden was forced to apologize after the man’s death? Or his plagiarism? Lying about his credentials? Lying about his participation in the civil rights movement? Lying about getting arrested in South Africa?

Does none of this matter to Biden supporters? Or at least the ones willing to post in this thread instead of just sharing Trump campaign tweets in USPOL with the blessings of the mods?

Joe Biden pushed for the rape and murder of thousands of Iraqi women and children, was vp of a presidency that was complicit in the rape and murder of countless Yemeni women and children. That cements him as pretty pro-rape and murder in my book

Just looked it up, and he changed the story a bit in 2012:

quote:

"The last time I was here, I want to be clear to the press, I didn't get arrested, but I almost did."

And he said that when he went to the women's dorm, "I thought I was walking into the waiting room." He added, "I got escorted out very quickly by an Athens policeman."

Of course, A, that's still creepy, and B, if we hold him to the same standard that some here are holding Tara Reade to, this makes Biden a liar who we can't possibly trust.

I don't see why it isn't fair to hold everyone else, including Tara Reade, to the same standard. If she has a history of lying, especially in extremely important contexts such as claiming to have a degree so that she can be an expert witness (which is perjury, btw, and carries a possible jail sentence), then it should be acceptable to question her credibility in other matters.

This is incredibly gross and classic victim blaming. Bad people are raped all the time. Liars are raped all the time. What would protect Biden isn't the character of his accuser, but rather, his own character, which is provably dog poo poo. Please don't loving do this.

Actually I just don't think that you understand womens dorms very well. By the time I live there, besides, we had key cards. The key cards for men wouldn't open our building, and it was punishable to have men outside certain hours (or at all, on my floor). The campus police regularly escorted people off of the premises. Usually because somebody squealed, like me.

Or even, for that matter, being escorted quickly off the premises by a cop, which is not and has never been the usual practice at dorms in America.

Not that we can be sure that’s even what happened. Because he’s a loving liar who has told multiple versions of this story. Good thing he’s a powerful white man for whom being a loving liar is so unremarkable that all of the good and kind-hearted liberals in this thread can’t be bothered to care.

Joe Biden is as evil a figure as liberals have ever been asked to support. To watch so many do so with such alacrity is really amazing, and taking it all the way to the footnotes of his bullshit autobiography every time like this is just incredible dedication. The Dumber Gilded Age sucks so much.

there's no difference between the substance of the reade and ford accusations. the only differences are the party affiliation of the accused and that one of the accusers is "no angel" (i.e., faced economic hardship in her life)

so unless the vast majority of the people satisfied with biden are OK with being craven hypocrites (very possible), they really only have two options:

-apologize to their chud family and friends on facebook and take back the principled feminist arguments they trotted out in fake-outrage during the kavanaugh hearings
-demand that the DNC change its nominee for POTUS because after all, this is a JOB INTERVIEW not a court of law, and they can't just take your vote for granted (right???)

Reade's accusation is a matter of public record and deserves to be seriously considered and questioned on its legal and political merits, due to its relevance to an upcoming election that could effect a lot of lives. There is no legal or political merit to discussing Tara Reade's educational credentials. There is no legal or political merit to citing what her landlords and abusive ex-husband have said of her. Had someone started digging up the educational and rent payment histories of any of Weinstein's, Brock Turner's, Cosby's or Trump's victims no one would have batted an eye in condemning that as morally repugnant. You can believe whatever you want about the rape allegations and their relevance to your vote. But there is absolutely no doubt that what is being done to Reade is morally abhorrent and would have been universally condemned had she accused anyone else.
