I got word that there were soft openings of the new Bourne stunt show going on today at Universal so I went, got into the 2:40pm show. Blew away expectations I had for it. Visually stunning is probably the best. Plot is mixed (some sort of VR watch on Bourne was the premise), but it didn't matter the screen (actually a gigantic LED wall) was the sharpest screen I've ever seen. And you legit couldn't tell at points who was projected and who wasn't (although face masks were a cue). Preshow was kinda dull, but the main show rocked. How VERY large set pieces, moved, turned, and went up and down with the video, with people doing stunts on them. This is a can't miss show if you go to Universal. The less you know about it the better. Despite the questionable IP for it's use. It works as "General Spy cool stunt show", and it's loaded with "that's drat cool and clever" moments.

The screens are pretty much the same as what they filmed Mandalorian with for backdrops.

Bourne is a fine IP for a stunt show. Waterworld a Live Sea War Spectacular has been a hugely popular stunt show for how long now? And they are planning on opening a new one in beijing in 2021!

Surprise! The gov was trying to cover up the increasing numbers by saying it is tied to groups working closely together.

The airport says that is the total number of cases since the outbreak started. Not a single group of tests.

The bad site is reporting that an employee at T-Rex Disney Springs tested positive for Covid. They say they "worked for 2 weeks while sick" but that's just rumor right now.

Also some unconfirmed reports that several stores at the Springs abruptly closed.

Guarantee there will be an outbreak at the NBA event even if Disney and the NBA take every precaution. We’re simply too inundated. Especially with them all coming through MCO.

Presumably a large number of them would be, and it’s not like things are going to be better at any other regional airport. Florida as a whole hosed up this whole process, which is going to make the NBA and Disney look worse when there’s inevitably an outbreak during their event.

I really don’t see Disney opening in July at this rate.

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney pushed back the opening the way things are going. It's hardly worth operating the resort at a loss while rising an outbreak and the negative PR that would come with it.

Private planes transporting players who deboard directly onto busses on the tarmac could potentially work. I'm not saying you're incorrect about this whole thing being hosed, but I think there's a chance they pull it off, though I'd say at the detriment of the players due to basically being shut off from the outside world for a month or more

This is what concerns me. TWDC spending money getting ready for opening in mid July, calling back cast etc only to shut back down again due to the outbreak in FL reaching NYC levels or worse.

Not just the NBA. MLS is gearing up for their tournament down there too, but haven't released or leaked any details of how its going to work with lodging and etc. Also, the MLS is probably not staying at the same deluxe hotels and flying private.

Nobody is going to be shutting down again. The bodies are just gonna pile up and people will shrug, like with school shootings. Infections in red states are already astronomical but they haven't done anything at all, and said they definitely won't.

How? You can't possibly clean those things super fast.

Locally (near Augusta, GA), we went from 400-some odd cases to 700+. 28 deaths to 40. In 10 days. Georgia is going to get very bad very fast.

So if you're crazy enough to be going to Disney, make sure you wear gloves if you gas up in Georgia. I don't want any of yall dead.

Given that spread has been determined to be primarily via person to person and not surface contact, quick wipe down should suffice

It's buried in that wiki article, but they notably own Yak & Yeti in AK. Who knows how high up management doesn't care.

...actually, this is going to be a more important time than usual to know which restaurants are Disney owned and operated and which contract out.

I think Landry's is the only notable 3rd party that exists within parks. I think there's some exceptions like Nine Dragons and maybe the Japan spots as well? I think Landry's has the biggest footprint on Disney grounds though

The most self promoting at least. Patina Group you may not have heard of by name but they run Tutto Italia and Via Napoli at Epcot, the Maria & Enzos / Edison complex, and Morimoto Asia. They also will run the new Space restaurant when it opens.
