Speaking of the 'cure" at the end of the first game, what were the odds on that? I don't remember anything indicating that Ellie's sacrifice would for sure create a vaccine, and that the Fireflies had tried and failed already and were pretty desperate at that point.

I'm not really knowledgeable about making 3d models but why would the nose, eyes and mouth be completely different if it was a self insert? I get why the insert would have a better hairline sure but why make the beard less full?

Self inserts don't have to be a 1 to 1 comparison, just similar enough that people go "what the gently caress". There was a thing a while back with a powerpuff girls guy who did the same thing, but his self insert was apparently muscly as gently caress instead, but it looked similar enough to him that people were creeped out.
