CHAPEL HILL, N.C. � The daughter of former professional wrestler Ric Flair was arrested on charges of assaulting an officer after her father and 22-year-old boyfriend got in a fight which left blood and bruises on the Nature Boy.

Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr, 22, was arrested Friday night after she became belligerent and kicked an officer, Chapel Hill police Lt. Kevin Gunter said.

Neighbors called police about 2:30 a.m. Friday about a fight at an apartment at 207 Conner Drive in Chapel Hill. The fight was over, but officers followed a trail of blood to Fliehr's apartment.

She told police the men had fought but it was over and things were fine. Officers found Flair, 59, whose real name is Richard Fliehr, on a bed in the back room. The boyfriend was in another part of the apartment.

Flair admitted fighting with the boyfriend but he didn't want to press charges, Gunter said. Gunter refused to give the boyfriend's name because he was not charged.

"He was kind of elusive," Gunter said of Flair. "He said everything was fine. Officers said he had a 'no problems here' kind of attitude. He just wanted everything forgotten."

Flair, known for his platinum blond hair, fur-lined robes and signature "Wooooo!" catchphrase, retired earlier this year after a 36-year career, which included wrestling for World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment.

He can be seen on the scoreboard for the Carolina Hurricanes shooting his famous phrase after a Carolina goal is scored.

A call to a cell number listed for Flair to obtain comment was not answered Tuesday.

Officials at The Gillespie Agency, based in Columbia, S.C., said they only book Flair for appearances. His daughter did not have a listed number.

Obviously a scripted scenario and actual assault are not the same thing, but Russo wrote every bit of that segment and it's apalling.

Within six minutes he takes a woman and slut shames her, calls her ugly, demands she show her tits, and then calls down two actual nazis (The Harris Brothers, they both have SS tattoos) to beat the gently caress out of her until the locker room empties. I think there's a general sense (hopefully legitimate) that there's less hazing and abuse in WWE these days but perhaps not, and clearly not on the indies where a lot of more recent high level talent come from.
