I went to the Columbus College of Art and Design when I was young and stupid because I wanted to be an illustrator. I dropped out because art school is insanely expensive even with a scholarship and the 2008 crash was happening. Wexner Center for the Arts had their hands in all of the pies. It was hard to go to a gallery or event that wasn't funded by them in some way. They were always hosting events with my school and the current curator used to work at CCAD. I grew up in a rural part of Ohio so I remember being pretty thrilled to see all of this art culture in Columbus. Knowing it was all a front for a pedophile makes me so angry.
