Welp, if the forums die I just want to thank everyone here for listening to my music. My entire journey as a recording musician was launched here. Ive played shows with goons. Ive had goons license my music and use it for their podcasts. You all fuckin rule. Thanks for the amazing support. If it all still remains after the Lowtax drama settles, then well you know I feel about yall.

I have made friends and collaborations through this site that have been responsible for a decent chunk of my solo music career. And I was holding off on this announcement until the content drop is imminent, but just in case: the next update for Hypnospace Outlaw is going to have a lot of new tracks from me in it (as Barnaby/Barnaby's Chair). It's one of the most fun musical things I've done in a minute, and I owe that connection to the forums too. Buy it if you haven't already, replay it if you have once the content update comes out.

Same here. If the forums die, I'm going to miss everyone, and thanks to everyone for listening to my music and offering encouragement. I uploaded this last night - https://soundcloud.com/the_door_is_scary/screw-the-economy-im-staying-home - it looks like it was featured in someone's playlist, and ended up with 100 listens overnight. Usually, I'm lucky if I get 20-30 total. Cat in the picture is Pat, the one with the evil doppleganger.

If any of you musicians would like a place to chat music and share your work/process, you're welcome to join Goony House of Guitars, which is mostly goons from the guitar, bass, synth, drum and theory threads. https://discord.gg/y7nksBA I offer "studio channels" for individual musicians (or collaborative projects) to post process, inspiration, scraps... Gonna pimp it here since I'm sure Baby Puzzle won't mind - new Sequence Storm DLC is out, featuring music from our very own 2DCat, Endochrome, and me! Gave it a run this morning, looks like I was the first on the leaderboards (on easy mode at least), so my crappy scores are the ones to beat!

Howdy music goons! I'm looking to toss some dumb bullshit together for a quick simple gag song. I hate to ask as general a question, but what would be a decent point of entry software-wise if I want to do everything digitally? I don't really have the vocabulary for the task at hand so bear with me here. Edit: DAW, that's the thing. I assume garage band is the way to go here? Yeah if you want something full-featured that's cheap, Reaper is the way to go. There are other options that are nicer to work in but they cost a lot more.

I swear by it, and use it as my only DAW. It has and does everything I need and all of my albums/tracks have been made with it. https://acoustica.com/mixcraft Oswaldo Von Schnoobenstein recommended! It's not very expensive and packed to the hilt with mixing/mastering tools and instruments. poo poo, you'd really just need that and a midi keyboard and you'd be set.

I've made another track. The main riff just arrived fully formed in my brain. Love it when that happens. https://soundcloud.com/overnightmike/minor-relatives Good luck with DAW chat, I record into Audition and treat it like a tape machine. I was reminicing about my old Tascam 4 track that I sold off a decade or so ago and have discovered that I should not have sold it when I did because they are fetching huge prices nowadays.
