Okay, but COVID hype is not part of some extremely short-sighted ruling class plan to run off with all the US's wealth at the expense of cratering the USD and destroying the billionaires' entire support system (a functioning society). COVID is loving COVID, a natural deadly pandemic that is unmitigated. The lack of mitigation is the real conspiracy here, and it takes a hell of a lot of bias for a smart person like Whitney Webb to miss that scoop in favor of a much smaller headline of "some failed state empire benefits on paper, but not in production capacity, from COVID due to a hypothetical chance to expand the surveillance state".

I'm not familiar with Webb's writing on the topic but I wouldn't agree that there's a conspiracy to expand the surveillance state, no.
